I have a 2018 S6. The prior generation interior before they went to screens vs buttons. Older version much better. I love my car, but I am retired and don't have a daily commute. Don't get an SQ7 unless you have a BIG budget for routine maintenance. My car gets 15 mpg in town, burns through tires before 20K miles, and routine oil changes, brake jobs, etc., double what you would expect. Having said that, rewards you every time you start the engine and routine trips to the store are even fun. Just a matter of priorities!
I don't like either their new interiors... I own a Fully Loaded Technik Q7 with Adaptive suspension & dynamic package ... honestly one of the best cars i've had!
I had a 2015 S6 stage2 that I dailyd for about 2 years and it was the best experience especially around the peak of covid when then was literally no traffic. I turned a hr commute into 35 minutes while gettin 30mpg. Oil changes were about 180 and I added oil about half between changes but man was it fun. I'm definitely getting a SQ7 soon plus I daily a Ford ranger now lol so it won't be much wear and tear and maintenance
Spot on review! For the money, performance, practicality, safety, etc, the best vehicle I have ever owned. I would redesign the shape of the rear lift gate though. I had hit my head at the outer edge of the lift gate a few times in a tight parking space and the lift gate won every single time.
Thank you so much for the family perspective! I would love to see you guy showed us how you look sitting in the third row. As a family, there are so many times when I’ve had to use the third row and want to see how it would look as an adult. The fuel economy is a bit rough!
Right. I have a Q7 and I find it to be rather large. Maybe not as roomy as our ‘14 acura MDX or a Tahoe or suburban, but still a large comfortable vehicle for a family of 4, even 5. Having latches on every seat means I can put my daughter in the rear right, my son in his booster in the middle and my mother in law gets a second row driver side seat on weekend road trip. And we can get there going 90-110 because nobody can tell how fast im driving cuz it’s so smooth and hushed.
It looks like a 2 row SUV with a 3rd row just in case you desperately need it. Unlike other 3 row models where I would drive with the 3rd row up and put it down when I need more cargo space, in this one I'd drive with it down and put it up when I need to accommodate half of a child's soccer team.
I agree, and great review as always. Actually this was good timing to remind me I need a new pair of sunglasses so I will give Flying Eyes a go. Cheers!
Soooo I ordered my first pair after this comment on your SQ7 video a few days ago and first off fast processing and shipping as they arrived yesterday. Quick background with me and sunglasses; one of my early retail jobs was at Sunglass Hut when they were still just kiosks in malls. They really were great at educating their employees on the importance of high quality optics and proper UV protection. Not to mention the facts you bring up about not being able to use polarized lenses for flying for example. So from about the mid 90s to now I have not only appreciated why someone would spend $200 or more on non-prescription eyewear and have owned the best from companies like Revo, Maui Jim, Ray Ban and Serengeti so this type of purchase is normal for me. I mainly bring that up so you understand I am SUPER picky about quality sunglasses. Flying Eyes really hits the highest marks in any category I can think of in measuring high quality sunglasses. Excellent optics, really great construction and design plus amazing features regarding materials and UV and impact protection. I got the wrap around Golden Eagle Sport in the only polarized option they had, the grey tint. Excellent product and my only item on my personal wish list would be polarized in the amber tint. Highly recommended by a sunglass guy. Thank you for the heads up with this company and wow made right here in Texas USA, that is awesome! Also thank you for the discount code and cool Micah Muzio adventures stickers, yay for that! Very unexpected and cool sir. Cheers and let's get you to that 100k subs this year. *copied from a FaceBook reply*
Love your work. You probably heard it before, but it's still a shock that here in europe where it's made, this Q7 is a full size SUV. A HUGE almost vulgar and gangster thing that never fits the road unless it's a highway. While you keep repeating it is mid size and on the smaller side 😅 Perspectives...
I have to agree with you on the Bang & Olufsen having a harsh high end. I haven't liked their systems since I first heard them in the 1980s for the same reason.
I just like to add something regarding the B&O Advanced Sound System. I personally think it is way overpriced for how it sounds BUT, and that is my one real disappointment with the Q7, the smaller "premium" B&O as well as the standard "Audi sound system" are both unbelievably bad. So if you have the money and like listening to music, the advanced system - in my opinion - is the only way to go. If you don't, you will always be disappointed at how subpar music in your Q7 sounds. Before I got my first SQ7 (TDI) in 2019, I drove an A6 with a BOSE sound system and that was just awesome for the price. I then had the SQ7 with premium B&O for 3 years and was always annoyed at how Audi could have approved this. There is such a huge disconnect betwenn bass and highs in that system, it's no fun listening to it. I got my new SQ7 with advanced B&O about 10 months ago and I am finally as content as I was with the A6 BOSE system but for five-times the price. Apart from that (and some entertainment system glitches) certainly the best car I ever had.
isn't the SQ7 the less inexpensive cousin, to the Cayenne? Wait you mentioned you can make the heated seat and cooled seat functions at the same time, Yep!! Porsche(Or shall I say Corporate VW, Porsche, Audi, etc..) At $100k or more? I would go Porsche.
I cross shopped both. The Porsche Cayenne with the same engine and most (but not all) the same options was $35 k more expensive, 50 fewer hp, 100 fewer fts tq, no third row option, and second row did not fold flat which I need for my dog crate. No contest. SQ7 was the best value.
you mean 21 inch rims? those are standard on all sq7 and top trim of q7. Also there are some vents in the third row located at the windows but they arent as effective as the third row is for occasional use only/
@@Popcornbeetle The 22s in the european market look really cool. But 21s are more realistic for the terrible pavement here in the US, especially in the northeastern states.
@@Popcornbeetle yea I think 22 are a bit too big for the car, 21 are the perfect balance between looks and sidewall. It’s also not too much to get 22 as an option if you prefer that
It’s nice…… but wayyy too expensive for being this old. This is in the BMW X5M family of mid sizers. These Qi’s EAT TIRES that cost $2200 a set. Also, with these options, Audi wants to charge you $1200 for an alignment!!! Lastly, the way they downshift at stops with their Quattro system, it lurches you forward and has made my passengers car sick. Got mid of mine real quick.
@@MicahMuzio The back of the boost should not have a gap between the seat and the high back. You should either raise the Audi headrest or remove it. If you can’t do that then you could remove the high back granted she is heavy enough but check your booster manual for this scenario.

It’s kind tough to compare an Audi v8 fuel economy with a turbo 4 in a ford don’t you think?

Can't afford this vehicle but it's nice to watch your family review 😁
I ordered one it burned and sank to the bottom of the Atlantic. I don't feel like waiting for a replacement so I am buying a Panamera Turbo.
Sad to say my new SQ7 was on that same ship. They built a replacement which we hope to get by early July.
Olguín how sad lol
