$550??? Is the DYSON AiRWRAP Really Worth It? (FAB or FAIL)

- It’s time for a highly requested FAB or FAIL! Today we will review the #Dyson #AIRWRAP Styler! I’ve been seeing a lot of mixed reviews on this product, so going into it I really had no idea what to expect. Is it worth $550? Let's see!

There are several different attachments that come with this tool, so make sure to watch until the end because I’m giving you a FULL #review on all of its functions!
There is a base tool where you will find all of your main functions: on/off, air flow, temperature control, and an indicator letting you know when to empty the filter. There are 6 different attachments that secure onto the base, as well as a storage case to house all of the different pieces:
1.2 inch Airwrap™ barrels - engineered to create voluminous curls or waves.
1.6 inch Airwrap™ barrels - engineered to create loose curls or waves.
Firm smoothing brush - engineered to smooth and control frizz-prone hair.
Soft smoothing brush - engineered to gently align and smooth fine hair.
Round volumizing brush - engineered to volumize and shape fine, flat hair.
Pre-styling dryer - takes hair from wet to damp, to prep for styling.
In my opinion, the brush attachments were just OK, nothing spectacular. I feel like I can achieve the exact same results with a standard blow dryer and round brush. I was most excited about trying the Airwrap barrels that are used to create curls. I was pleased with how the curls looked in the end, but the process of curling with this tool was not my favorite. There is just so much air coming out of the tool at all times, it was really blowing my hair around as I was trying to style it! It’s also a lot of hot air right around your face the ENTIRE time that you are styling, so by the time I was finished styling my hair I was SO warm!
Overall, I have to say that I do think it is a good tool. It does all of the things that it claims to do, but I just wasn’t blown away by any of the results. I’m giving this product a mixed review 👍🏼👎🏼, mainly because yes it worked, but for that price point I expected to be blown away… And I wasn’t.

This kit is amazing, but you must do it with wet hair and you need to drop the hair to let it vacuum onto the barrel and you need to cold blast the curl before turning it off and removing the barrel. Xx
I think your supposed to use it on damp hair and hold it till it’s dry and cool shot it before you take it out. The dampness May help the hair not flying around while you curl. Though your curls looks really nice as well so who knows that’s just what I have seen in other videos! Also the price is 😜 haha great video!
I feel as though this isn't a great review of this product because your hair should be about 70-80% dry therefore it will have more effect on the hair and if you hair is still damp it won't blow as much when your curling the rest of your hair like you said it does. It is also supposed to be curled from the bottom so you don't need to wrap your hair around it does it for you which makes it a better curl. Maybe would be a great idea to review this product again after follow the instructions of the product

and after the warm stage you should use the cold level for 3 seconds.
because your hair is not damp it's not working correctly
Ammara Altaf kayley melissa did a review for four days and on damp hair and her curls fell out right away.
Try doing the curls when your hair is damp. And you’re suppose to do cold air to lock in the curl and then turn it off and let it go.

Why did you not wet your hair? It’s a hair dryer with attachments. You would’ve gotten much better results if your hair was wet. I can’t stand when someone tests a product but doesn’t even give it a fair shot by using it CORRECTLY.

I feel like this is another unfair review as it doesn’t seem to follow the instructions that dyson have given on how to use it...your hair looks completely dry and dyson states the Hair is supposed to be damp as the tool is supposed to dry the hair while it styles at the same time. So the smoothing brushes would work better if used as intended and not on dry hair...The cool shot is also supposed to be used to help hold the curls.

My biggest problem with this review is that these are not just heat tools but blow drying tools. Your hair needs to be damp!
Please watch the brand how to videos or read the papers before you review a product because you may change your mind if you are using the product properly.

Everyone is raving about this product so it was nice to see an honest review! I am not sure i can get behind it being $550.
Hey! Not sure if you know this or not, but it's meant to dry and style your wet hair. That way you can dry and curl at the same time and cut down on how much heat you use on your hair.
I believe the dyson is meant to be used on wet hair then use the cool button to set your curl.

1. hair should be damp first
2. tools should be used upright not upside down
3. after you curl a section, you should do a cool shot to set the curl
i'm sorry but did you even read the instructions? all the video i saw about it were easy to follow .. yet i keep seeing video review were you don't even use it the way its suppose to be .. you held it upside down while curling and wrapped it yourself which isnt the correct way to do it
i would appreciate it if you could watch how you should have done it and make another video ..
Dyson needs to include a dvd - apparently everyone is too lazy to read the instructions. She did absolutely everything wrong so it's not a "demo" it's more of a WTF?
The dryer is only meant to make it from soaking wet to damp. And then after that, you're meant to use the curling or the straightening attachment. Its meant to be used on damp hair. Also it dries your hair when you use the curling/straightening tool. Plus it saves time having to blow dry the hair and then straightening/curling it after like the traditional way because this does 2 in 1

I have this and I think you may be holding it in the wrong direction when you are curling. I never have the air flow on my face, you need to flip your hands so that the point of the wand is going down if that makes sense. I agree though over priced for what it is. I like it but it’s going back. Thanks for your review.

I think the problem with the way you used it, is that you used it like a regular curling wand, instead up upright, and letting the air suction the hair around that barrel ...

I always love your reviews because you're very honest in them! But I'd appreciate if you could do a part 2 to this review where you do it properly after having read the instructions. You have to use this on damp hair. Watch a few other tutorials!!
Just a few tips for next time :) holding the wand upside dosent work as well.... that’s also part if why it wasn’t picking up your hair.... also it’s meant to be used on damp hair (not sure if you dampened it ) this is NOT meant as hate just a few helpful tips for next time
The Airwrap is designed to work on 'damp' hair only. The mini hairdryer is not intended to fully dry the hair, but to take your sopping wet hair to a dampen state so you can 'then' use the Airwrap properly. Also, without using some kind of hold styling product the curls will not stay as long as they would if you used styling/holding products.

I think it is so funny the people telling her the right way to use it aren’t getting likes or acknowledged by Mindy but all compliments she likes.
what curling iron do you use? i don’t know if it’s my hair or my iron but i can only go like 3 hours before the curls are gone. i love you and your family!❤️
The directions suggest damp hair. It also has a cool setting. 😏😏😏 I definitely agree with the price point. From an engineers standpoint, it is made amazingly and built with total quality. There is where the price comes in. Durable, quality, and a well engineered product. If you like techy products this is definitely something that holds a high standard. 👍👍👍
Isn’t the hair supposed to be damp/wet? I don’t actually know but I think that’s what other people have been doing

Tip: for the barrels, you start at the bottom part of your hair and it will wrap on its own. Then you move the wand straight up to your scalp

I love doing hair....well pretty much all things hair. This Dyson Airwrap tool is sooo cool to me. I have been watching videos about it non stop.
I would recommend to curl on damp hair that’s about 20% wet. Also, would keep my hair product free from trying it tout with products your hair does not curl with oil in it it works better on damp hair without product. To get the real curl I would recommend holding you hair ten cm up and let the bottom piece attach to the curler I hold my hair for 10 seconds on warm and 10 seconds on cool and when I’m done I turn it off and then take out the curl so I don’t blow it away. Hope this helped!

You should try it out as written / suggested (wet hair, let the hair grab itself to barrel by holding it not over your hat) ... But interesting to see that it worked on the other way too. I guess it would be a better result the other way.
U're supposed to have damp hair before using it so that you can have more defined and 2-3 days of curls or even more. that's what i've heard till now from ppl using it!
So you're supposed to have not wet, but damp hair so that the hair can be held more by the wand.

It’s says in the instructions that your supposed to start with damp hair. Love your vids.
i think that the curls would be a little tighter if your hair was a little damper, and hold the wand with the warm heat for a couple seconds then use the cold setting to “set the curl”

If you watch Kathleen lights video on it the hair gets sucked up into the attachment. So I think it curls by the hair blowing and swirling around inside of it

Mindy! Serious question, how in the world do you get your curls to stay 3-4 days? My curls do not even last 1 day. They fall out within a couple hours. I use a NuMe wand which I feel is a pretty good wand, and I still can’t get my curls to stay :(

Hey Mindy, I love your channel and I've been watching your family forever! Actually, I've been watching brooklyn and bailey since they had braces which was quite a while ago.
I just purchased this product for the Mrs.......I tried to show her this video in order to prove I wasted almost £400 but she claimed the device works best on damp hair which begs the question......shouldn’t something so expensive be able to work as good on both dry and wet hair.....🤔
