DIY NO-HEAT Waves | Fab or Fail Hairstyles

- You guys asked for it, so this week I am following up on my previous #CGHHeatlessWaves Fab or Fail review with a DIY version of the wave makers! I tried them on Paisley’s hair two weeks ago, as a #FabOrFail, and LOVED the results! Now, will they also work well as a DIY with my #hair texture?? 🤷🏻♀️

I think that my favorite thing about these #noheat wave creators is how easy they are to use! It only took me about 15 minutes to apply them all over my head, and you get the added benefit of not using any heat on your hair at all! Would you try these #heatless wavers??
Step 1: Build the stick & place the wave formers over the stick, leaving the hook of the stick exposed.
Step 2 : Dampen the hair with water (not soaking wet).
Step 3: Apply your favorite curl cream of mousse to the hair
Step 4: Take a 1 inch piece of hair, and twist it at the root.
Step 5: Take the stick and hook it around the section of hair, then pull the wave former over the hair. Continue this all over the head.
Step 6: Let the hair air dry, or sit under a dryer to speed up the process for the curls to set.
Step 7: Pull out all of the wave formers.
Step 8: Style as desired! I prefer to separate my curls and fluff them out a bit, but you can style them in whatever way works best for your hair texture!

If these were lined with silk on the inside it would be less frizzy for certain hair types. Or a fabric that both smoothies and soaks up excess water. ☺️

i think its amazing that youre showing paisley that she's able to do things with her hair that you can do with your hair even though they are different textures. I remember going to a stylist wanting a braid and my dad told me i couldn't get it because it wasn't meant for my hair type. Being able to show your daughter that she's not excluded and she's allowed to have fun too, will for sure make her love her hair!

Can you do a video explaining hair textures? And maybe include info on how your hair texture might change as you age? I used to have poker straight hair. But now I am thirty and apparently changes in my hormones have made my hair more curly!?

I just realized, I started watching your channel when my oldest daughter was in 3rd grade and my youngest was in kindergarten. My oldest is now a freshman in college and my youngest is in 10th grade. I have never been able to do all.of they styles as well as you, but my girls were always complimented on their hair when they were little!!!

Really cute! The wavy style looks good on you and Paisley. I enjoy wearing my hair straight or natural. My natural hair texture is dense, kinky, coily 4b/4c and I have a lot of shrinkage when I wash my hair. I tried these in my hair and it elongated my coily hair giving me a textured wavy look. I liked the results. Another style option for me without using chemicals in my hair. I love your channel! You are very knowledgeable about different hair textures. I would definitely let you style my hair!

Thanks for trying them out on your hair! I loved them on Paisley’s hair. I wasn’t as impressed with how they performed on your hair texture. Plus, it seems so time consuming and I think there are easier ways to add wave/curl.
Please do more hairstyles videos with Paisley. She brings a smile to my face and her hair always looks so cute. 🙂

I just got a set for my birthday!!! I love them. Quick tip if you have flat stick straight hair use curl hold mousse on damp hair and then when dry use volume brush through mousse. I got the frizzy mouse and volume spray by John Frida. Also you can use an at home dryer bag or make one. I didn’t let mine set enough under the low heat for 20 mins. I did 5 mins low heat On damp hair almost dry and I got low end beach waves but they had no volume.
For me it was more visible on Paisley's hair. And she looked SO PRETTY ! For the effect that you got, Mindy, I think it would be too time consimung for me. Looks fun though ;)

There are pictures, quizzes, and videos online. Basically, there are 4 types. Straight (type 1), wavy (type 2), curly (type 3) and coily (type 4). Each type has 3 subcategories, which are also based on how curly your hair is. For example, I have relatively loose curls, so I'm type 3A.

@@maddietillem6778, mine is like a tight curl, some say it's a natural perm curl bc it fros on its own and I get asked all the time who did my hair. 🤦🏼♀️ I can use my fingers or brush it straight, it curls on it's own. Lol Mindy, I cant wait for this info video! TH-cam has made my hair alot healthier since I now know the correct products to use.

After I watched your tutorial I also done my hair and I must say I’m happy with my curls. I part dryed my hair and blow dryed it, kept them in 4 hours. Definitely use them again.

I’m glad you also tried it on your hair too! I am terrible at using a curling iron (and I try to stay away from heat) so I’m always trying to find easier ways to give my hair nice curls/ waves :) also I literally love your family and watch kamri and the twins channel ❤️

These are really cool. I think I would just stick to a braided wave. I braid my hair in 2 Dutch braids a little bit after the shower and let it dry and then I have pretty waves. I don’t think I would be able to get them in my hair by myself.

After watching your last video with these I ordered some! They work good in my hair, but I had to sleep in them so my hair would be done for school and they were REALLY uncomfortable to sleep on! But my hair turned out cute so it was worth it!

I don't know if anyone has said this but it's easier to do on yourself if you flip the hook so the opening is facing up. It's easier to slide the hair into the hook that way and hold while not being able to see.

I want to see such DIY on absolutely straight hair.
Pre video comment - I find the only way my hair will even hold a curl or wave is the braided method.. braid it all up right after a shower and leave it up until dry (unfortunately when you have roughly 3+ feet of thick hair, this may take you an entire day ... Or two...
So I always do a braid that looks decent enough to be worn that way in public.

What curler cream did you use? How much does the product cost? This looked like way too much work for the outcome. I saw a video where six socks were used, no heat, and the outcome was great.

I'd say do these when your hair is almost dry not too wet and do these maybe in the summer cause then you can just chill outside in the privacy of your backyard
