A cold shudder went through my body when i saw this. Almost 60 years ago I rebuilt the top on my 1954 Jaguar XK120 DHC (Note, DHC, not OTS!). I was able to get one of the wood bows, but had to have the others made locally. Stretching the fabric was a very traumatic process and I swore I would never do it again...and I never did. It looks like you are far better prepared than I was and that top looks much more "user friendly." Good luck on it.
Thanks for posting the video. This will be a great guide for those of us with lesser means who must replace the top. On my '74, my wife wanted a hard top, I found one in the right color so all I have to do is replace all the old gasketing and figure out how to attach it. The convertible top is poor shape but I'll keep it for "driven in the rain days". My drain channel was rusted so I rust converted it. The passenger drain hose was completely plugged / broken. (uxcell Silicone Tube 20mm ID x 25mm OD 1.64' Flexible Silicone Rubber Tubing Water Air Hose Pipe - Amazon)
Hi Dave and Elin, the new soft top looks a nice quality. I bet Doc is keen to have his “new car” now that the season is turning for you. Judging by the status of your tree foliage, it looks like you are about a month behind us in Berkshire U.K. regarding the spring season. (Hopefully not to long now before you start riding your bike again!) - stay safe and well my friends 🙏
I'm starting to get riviets in my seats and on the carpets every time I open or close the top. It's new as of 2018. Now I know where they are coming from.
Yes, the new Alfaholics top has the cables pre installed inside the top. I believe I can just remove the existing original cables and exchange with the Alfaholics ones. Stay tuned!
