I feel like the clothes was just one part of her starting to really try, to do the job, to take what they do seriously. She wasn't doing her job better because she was dressing well, she was dressing well as one part of doing her job as well as she possibly could.
I remember at an old job I had I worked with a guy that was really mean. But I think he started getting used to me and he started joking around with me and making conversation a lot. It didn’t make me think he wasn’t a bad person cause he was still mean to other people there. but it did help me do my job a lot better because it didn’t feel like there was a negative black hole around me anymore honestly.

In the movie they don't have a lot of time to cover that plot point but in the book it gets explained in further detail Also we see how her friends act from Andy's perspective not any of their perspectives
Straight guy gives his opinion and this happened: We got together with my friends and they made me watch this movie, but it was not consistent with their logic that Andrea's friends were the Villains of the Movie. I felt like I was seeing something completely different from what they were seeing because I couldn't believe what they were telling me, until they said that the STRAIGHTS couldn't understand the movie. Now that I looked at her alone, I can understand why my vision of the subject was completely different from theirs. 1st I am not a fan of fashion, 2nd I am STRAIGHT (I put it because they told me that being straight I would not be able to understand his point), 3rd I see in Andrea a certain similarity with the "Stockholm syndrome" (Temporary psychological disorder that appears in the person that she has been kidnapped and that consists of being sympathetic and benevolent with the behavior of the kidnappers and progressively identifying with her ideas, either during the kidnapping or after being released), as happened in other films like Mean Girls. Andrea's dream was to be a JOURNALIST. sHe worked and studied all his life for that, being Miranda's Assistant was only a means to achieve it. That she has discovered that she is more interested in Fashion than she expected is something else, but one thing does not take away from the other.
From the beginning to the end, both Mirando and Emily treat Andrea badly, with disdain, contemptuously and almost laughing in her face (More Emily, obviously). Every day she comes home with Nate and tells him how work sucks, that they have her from one side to the other and that her boss is crazy, that she mistreats her and refers to Emily and the others as "Noisy" Because they do everything Miranda wants and are like her servants (In addition to being criticized 24/7). Despite seeing all that is going on, she knows that it is important to her, so Nate supports her and encourages her not to be bothered by them. His father also claims why he has to endure all these problems, for a job that has nothing to do with what he studied and worked to achieve, and that they do not even pay him well (to the point that he has to lend him money to pay the bills) Andrea is from one side to the other, anguished, angry and it is as if she were about to catch an attack because she could not do what Mirando asks because of the FEAR she has. One of the first problems is coming: Miranda is at the end of the world and calls Andrea to get her a return flight to see her daughters audition. Obviously you cannot get the flight because there is a small detail; a HURRICANE, and yet Miranda takes it out on herself and "disappoints" Andrea for not getting it. Nigel seems to be the best person to make Andrea understand what working there entails, becoming a kind of mentor to her and the only apparent "ally". Still, he explains that it would be better for him to quit if all he is going to do is complain, because he doesn't try hard enough.
Andrea reflects, changes her attitude / look just to get Miranda's acceptance and recognition. Here she discovers that she likes it, and that she was not as alien to the fashion world as she believed.
After her "transformation" she comes to feel important and recognized as being Miranda's Assistant, both to gain her trust, enough to bring the Book home.
Miranda has problems with her husband and it seems that she cannot even speak to him without signing a first, total document, which is taken out AGAIN with Andrea asking her to get unpublished manuscripts of Harry Potter (In less than 4 hours, it should be clarified) and that if he didn't get them he was going to fire her. The boss we all want to have woohooo (I wouldn't blame Andrea for wanting to jump under a car in that situation) Anguished and angry, Andy decides to go ahead and resign before Miranda fires her. However, he does not, because at the last moment he gets the books and stays at work because miranda would accept that he did something WELL. Proving that the only thing that matters to him is that the exploiter of his boss recognizes him ... Andy warns Nate that he is going to resign, he is glad because at last he is going to resign from the job that is driving her crazy and that he detests, being able to be free of that environment. The Savior appears, Cristian, this kid who flirts with her despite knowing that he has a boyfriend and gives her the books. sHe got it, Andy is not useless in Miranda's eyes, so he decides to have her take Emily's place on the trip to Paris (almost threatening to stain her record by saying she won't take any serious work if she didn't agree) Andy feels sad that he can't give time to things important to others and that his work consumes everything, and now he struggles with the dilemma of having to replace Emily. And, how could it be otherwise, Miranda asks her to be the one to inform him. Friends are noticing the change, as everything that was insignificant for her before became the only thing she talks about. That's the least, it's still Andy (? But NO, it seems that he likes that the Lord Charming of Shrek flirts with him, and his friend did it to him in the face (And no, he was not overreacted, you could see the kilometer Cristian's intention) As I said, one thing does not take away from the other, Andrea's friends are not saints, but I don't think they are anywhere near the "Villains of the Movie". And yes, the final acts of Miranda and Emily can be "redeemed", but Emily only helped Andrea for her own benefit and shows her a little respect at the end by telling the new woman that she has great shoes to fill. The beloved Miranda is not far behind, the only good thing he did in the film was not to fire Andrea and insult her in a recommendation, saying that it was "the worst misfortune and disappointment that he has ever known, but that he would be a fool if he did not hire her "Terrible, what a good boss, how could I not see such a noble character? In the end, she gets the job she always wanted, and who knows, maybe she becomes a Fashion Journalist, she doesn't have to disassociate herself from everything good and that she discovered that she likes in her time with Miranda. It's like the people who justify everything Sirius Snape did is Harry Potter, only because in the end he redeemed himself
The past and everything bad that happens to a character helps us to UNDERSTAND IT, but not JUSTIFY IT. Miranda is a great figure, yes, but she is also a Demon, literally as the name of the movie says.
Katsuyu Shikkotsu But it’s not about Miranda. It’s about Andy. Even if Andy realized that the fashion industry isn’t what she wanted in the end, taking back her crappy boyfriend and friends is so disappointing. Not one of them were worried about her happiness or her aspirations. They just didn’t like the fact that she was becomes less available and that she was changing. If she ever got any other demanding career, she would likely encounter the same problems with them.
Just gonna guess, that 30% of this movie’s budget went to just _renting_ the fashion seen in the background. Another 30% for Meryl Streep. The rest, do the math.
I believe the wardrobe budget was not far off £100,000 and the person who did the wardrobe pulled in favours from her friends and connections to get vintage Chanel pieces etc.
You're right, she called in a lot of favors to get the costume design done with a $100K budget. All total the actual cost would have been closer to a million dollars if she hadn't been connected. There's even a necklace that Meryl Streep wears in the movie that cost as much as their entire budget. That had to be a stressful shooting day.
They actually used psychological tricks to empower her. For example: noticed that Miranda never EVER raised her voice in the movie? It forces others to basically shut up and listen or even lean in to the conversation in order to follow. It switches the focus from a dual sided to a one sided position: they have to focus on Miranda! Plus it shows how 1. she does not give in to her own emotions, she is in control of those. 2. Others do not have the power to affect her emotions which makes her lowkey a threat. (Also one of the reasons why she seemed extra vulnerable when she shows her sadness about her divorce) It's a very 'simple' trick they use but it has a huge impact on the character on its own. Just one example.
To prepare for this role she imitated male CEO and executives and many people when the movie first came out thought she was a "bitch" the way she portrayed herself.... She is a queen among peasants.
Fun Fact: The scene where Meryl Streep wears no makeup and tells Andy about the divorce was Streep’s idea. Originally she was supposed to wear makeup, but Streep wanted her to show a moment of vulnerability, so the makeup was ditched. Fun Fact #2: On the first day of shooting Meryl Streep approached Anne Hathaway and told her that she thought she was a fantastic and talented actress and that she was happy to be working with her. However, that was the last nice thing she would say to her. It was.
@@Firespawnable if I remember correctly, Anne or Meryl said in an interview that Meryl didn't want to "break character" between scenes that could affect Miranda's personality and the 'relationship' between Miranda and Andy
Can we appreciate Meryl Streep's last big line of the movie and the fact that it was a rewrite done by Meryl who didn't feel her character would say, "Everyone wants to be me." So she changed it to, "Everyone wants to be us."
Meryl is a great actress but that does not make her ominpotent. I think Miranda would definitely say that. But in a matter-of-fact way. Not as a boast or a brag. Meryl got that one wrong. Particularly after she spends the entire scene talking about herself. She's narrating her own story because the only person she really knows about is herself and her job. To scoff: "Everybody wants to be me" would show with how much detachment she regards her job, the world and the people in it. she knows that the people who buy Runway are people who want what she has but don't have. A career, money and style. The people working at Runway either aspire to be like her or try to take what she has, for themselves Ergo: Everybody wants to be like her. She views people like a target audience because that's how she deals with people most of the time. That's why Miranda is great at being professional but not that great at being a human witg functioning emotions. She is capable to asses the damage her behaviour causes(divorces and kids whom's affection she buys) but not capable to recognize that she has become her job. I think the director knew better than to tell 'la Streep' she was wrong. Meryl loved telling that story on the promo tour. The studio probably told the director:' Let her have this one. We got Streep!'

@@googlegoogle-wl2fk tbh I think it's both ways. She's diving too deep into her job and it is swallowing her and that is unhealthy and she did miss his birthday which is understandable why he's mad. She's having to work with way too much stress and seeing her like that could be very depressing. However her bf was also extremely unsupportive. He could have been supportive but also explaining to find a balance or maybe helping her find a balance at least, not to pick a side so dramatically instead of "we're not alike anymore". That won't help but drive her deeper or guilty from either choice she chooses. She could also help him see what she likes about her job and why shes starting to likr fashion. @@karimabou8784 actually since the book was written by Anna wintour's former assistant, she apparently threatened designers with not featuring them on vogue if they participated in the movie lmao
Actually they had a budget of $100,000 on the actual costume and design budget. Most of the pieces were just given to them. Such as Valentino (who makes an appearance) and Chanel who asked to dress Anne for the part. Most of the production used their connections to get the items they wanted without using the budget. The real expense comes from the salary the two leads command.
meryl streep- *throws at least a million dollars worth of couture coats, and designer handbags in designer clothes and shoes. walks into her office full of more of the same designer clothes. straight guy- honestly though the budget isn't that big yet.
A lot of the clothes would have been donated by designers especially in the wardrobe scene. If the name is mentioned in the film they have a advertising arrangement with the company. The opening to Confessions of a shopaholic shows this in the opening scenes, from her entire outfit the only name dropped is 'Gucci! Worth every penny'.

I really appreciate what you said about her friends getting upset about her advancing in her career and about promoting unhealthy obsession with size. Also I literally screamed YES when you said that Andy meeting the editor is a great career opportunity. This whole job's great for her career and her "friends" were crapping on her for doing well, which is RIDICULOUS
Some people are like this. I also had to make some sacrifices to earn my current job, and at the beginning none of my friends understood that. Then, when I succeed, all of them said I was "lucky" to "be given" that. None of them understood the hard work or the difficult decisions I had to make.
Yes it’s great that he talked about that but that’s literally what the movie is about. It’s based on a real person on a real magazine. And that’s what their society was like. Is it right? No. But that’s not what the movie is trying to tell you
@@revangerang I wouldn't say she has bad friends. I mean, when someone makes drastic changes in their behaviour and stop socializing with their usual circle of friends, that's usually a cause for concern. If she got into a new relationship and that happened, most would think she was being abused by her spouse. Seriously, she changed basically everything about herself for this job and started acting in the exact manner she was very vocally against in the beginning. Her friends definitely didn't handle it as well as they could have. They were definitely more blunt then they should have been but they weren't entirely wrong.
Surprisingly enough it was low budget, most of the clothes were donated by different designers (despite being threatened by head bitch of vogue that if they did they'd be blacklisted) the movie's budget was only $35 million which in terms of movies in Hollywood is very low budget. Even then I think when Dylan was talking about low budget he specifically meant low location budget.

My favorite part of the movie is when Nigel says, "Who is that sad little person? Are we doing a before and after piece I don't know about?" after Andrea's "job interview"
I really hated Andy's friends in the movie. They had no problems loving all the fruits of her labour by giving them cool bags and clothes but the minute her work schedule becomes first priority they become assholes. I had a friend like that once who told me to pick between my dream education or her. Also the movie isn't glorifying being thin. It's just showing what it's like in the fashion world. Its literally in the title The DEVIL wears prada. The fashion world might seem glamourious on the surface but it is fundamentally destructive and cut throat.
Courtney the part about the friends being assholes? Yeah I guess the movie does a good job making them seem like they are justified in their reactions but I just found them and the boyfriend to be absolutely toxic people to Andy. More so than any of the people in the fashion industry actually because at least those dicks were open about the game they were playing.
They are under no obligation to 'like' her job. The only times when her friends are really voicing genuine dislike is when they call Andy out for her drastic change in behaviour. Lily called her out at the gallery opening and Nate called her out for not being honest about actually liking her job and not admitting to it.
Yeah, I agree, I always felt that if the one year was over and she was still doing this job, THAT is the moment they can get p... about her, but otherwise I found it pretty unfair of them that they didn't support her all the way. Thankfully the strength of the movie lies in the relationship between Andy and Miranda. I think it is a nice reflection on feminism...Miranda had to step over everyone to get where she is now, but Andy won't have to because Miranda opened the door for her.
I just found this guy today and have binged several of his videos before I realized what he reminds me of. He is an odd mix of James Franco and Pewdiepie...

Sure, I agree to that to an extent, but she got herself in a whole new mess with this job. Ofc at first she didn't like it because she hadn't looked into it, and it's not a bad thing to change your mind about something. That's what bothers me with him and the friends, that they don't give her space to find herself in a new situation and instead they attack and judge her the whole time. (Also, about the scene w them taking the phone away, that's a dick move in my opinion, what person does that to their friend?)
Anna Raymondou when I was younger I kinda understood the friends and the "moral of the story" but with the years I realized that they were so damn jealous and really unsupportive, she grow so much in the industry and in the moment that her friends notice that they drag her for that... and the boyfriend was the worse, she can't have a good job but he can? There are so many quotable lines in this movie: “Take a chance, hire the smart, fat girl.” “I’m one stomach flu away from reaching my goal weight” “And you have no style or sense of fashion. No no. That wasn’t a question.”
@@ouidaevans2611 Honestly, if you have so much of a problem with a random actress that does her job well and has never done anything criminal or even problematic, maybe the problem has less to do with her and more to do with you.
Something I never considered until now: The reason a million girls would kill for the job is because they treat it the same way Andy is. As a stepping stone for their actual career. How many previous assistants used it as a means to get on the catwalk? Or a means of promoting themselves in the fashion industry? How many actually want the assistant job? I'm betting next to none. That's why Miranda says she thought Andy was different. Because Miranda thought she'd be the girl who wasn't just using her for a good recommendation.
@@jacklyntree7752 you're gonna laugh at me for this, but: This only occurred to me because I recently watched I Feel Pretty, and that movie actually pointed the same thing out.
Wouldn’t it be the opposite? All the other girls love fashion, clothes, the magazine, so to work with Miranda, the editor of the magazine, is a dream come true for people who love and admire the industry. Emily gets to meet designers, get the latest clothes, go to fashion events. But Andy doesn’t care for any of that, so Miranda knows she’s not doing it for anything other than a stepping stone. Like, what other reason would a girl who doesn’t care for fashion get a job at a fashion magazine other than to get a good recommendation from the great Miranda Priestly. If anything, it’s Emily who isn’t using the job as a stepping stone. Throughout the movie, she never made any comment or showed that she wanted another job or wanted something elsewhere, she was happy (even though very stressed) being Miranda’s assistant.
Okay, so I thought I had a weird fever dream where dylan reacted to The Devil wears Prada. I watched it years ago when it first came out. Though it was gold, and went to go rewatch it a year or two ago and could not find it anywhere. And now to see that it not only does exist but I can finally rewatch it is amazing. Not sure what happened Dylan but thank you.
Dylan.... low budget????? Did u see those fashions???? This movie isn't about the shots and effects. It's about the looks.... every single look Andy,Miranda, and Emily did were thousands in for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Especially those gowns. All the Versace, Chanel, Christian Loubiton, Jimmy Choo, Belenciaga.... all those clothes, probably totaled up to a few million dollars. Plus they actually shot in Paris during fashion week. And to get all of those cameos of designers....they dropped a few coins there. Don't ever say this movie is low budget. This movie is everything. The character Miranda Priestly is a gay icon....this movie is iconic.
@@subtlesraf Emily is the unsung hero in this ensemble cast. She stole every scene, even when she didn't have lines. I lived in London for a while and I met a few Emily's.
Dylan: Says that going from a 6 to a 4 is dropping 2 dress sizes. Me: It's actually one size. Dress sizes go 0,2,4,6,8+, the odd numbers are for shortened dresses. (I worked in a bridal shop for a long time.)
...pretty sure she only dropped 1 dress size. Don't women's dress sizes (in the US) drop in increments of two? 0-2-4-6-8-10? EDIT: This is a movie based on fashion, ALL the actors who work in Runway wear DESIGNER clothing which costs a TON of money. Chanel literally dressed Anne Hathaway for pretty much the whole film. The movie's entire budget was spent on clothing and fashion.
Actually, I believe I read somewhere that most of the clothing was borrowed because they didn’t have the budget they wanted to showcase all this fashion or get all the article pieces they wanted with the original budget.
Women’s sizes are even, juniors are odd. That’s American sizes and every manufacturer is slightly different. I think if you’re a 4 in women’s you’re a 5 in juniors, not positive though.
OK, I see. You think this has nothing to do with you, You go to your closet and you select that lumpy, loose sweater, for instance, because you're trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back, but what you don't know is that that sweater is not just blue. It's not turquoise. It's not lapis. It's actually cerulean. And you're also blithely unaware of the fact that in 2002, Oscar de la Renta did a collection of cerulean gowns, and then I think it was Yves Saint Laurent who showed cerulean military jackets, and then cerulean quickly shot up in the collections of eight different designers. And then it filtered down through department stores, and then trickled on down onto some tragic Casual Corner where you no doubt fished it out of some clearance bin. However, that blue represents millions of dollars and countless jobs, and it's sort of comical how you think you made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry when, in fact, you're wearing a sweater that was selected for you by the people in this room from a pile of stuff.

I saw this movie a day before a big job interview. I had just come back from a string of internships where I felt this same pressure. You do a job that pushes you to the breaking point or that might go against your values all to get the good reference and name on your resume to get the job later on that you really want. And during those internships I said to myself "I am like a prostitute. I am selling my soul for a job." So as you can imagine this movie both resonated with me and terrified me for the job that I was going for, having no idea whether or not this would be the same.
His father also claims why he has to endure all these problems, for a job that has nothing to do with what he studied and worked to achieve, and that they do not even pay him well (to the point that he has to lend him money to pay the bills)
Andrea is from one side to the other, anguished, angry and it is as if she were about to catch an attack because she could not do what Mirando asks because of the FEAR she has.
The boss we all want to have woohooo (I wouldn't blame Andrea for wanting to jump under a car in that situation)
Anguished and angry, Andy decides to go ahead and resign before Miranda fires her.
The Savior appears, Cristian, this kid who flirts with her despite knowing that he has a boyfriend and gives her the books.
sHe got it, Andy is not useless in Miranda's eyes, so he decides to have her take Emily's place on the trip to Paris (almost threatening to stain her record by saying she won't take any serious work if she didn't agree)
Andy feels sad that he can't give time to things important to others and that his work consumes everything, and now he struggles with the dilemma of having to replace Emily. And, how could it be otherwise, Miranda asks her to be the one to inform him.
Friends are noticing the change, as everything that was insignificant for her before became the only thing she talks about. That's the least, it's still Andy (? But NO, it seems that he likes that the Lord Charming of Shrek flirts with him, and his friend did it to him in the face (And no, he was not overreacted, you could see the kilometer Cristian's intention)
As I said, one thing does not take away from the other, Andrea's friends are not saints, but I don't think they are anywhere near the "Villains of the Movie".
Katsuyu Shikkotsu
But it’s not about Miranda.

Right I noticed that
I believe the wardrobe budget was not far off £100,000 and the person who did the wardrobe pulled in favours from her friends and connections to get vintage Chanel pieces etc.
And Anne Hathaway and all the cameos
And PARIS
"Why do I fear her so much?"
Dylan, that's the power Maryl had in this movie.
get. her. name. right.

Her friends were highkey toxic though like they didn’t support her AT ALL!
they were the villains
Emily was a better friend to her than her actual friends.
Not to mention that they were all for it when it meant that they could get free stuff.
I agree! Her boyfriend and friends were terrible.
Really? I don't know, I kinda disagree, I think they noticed she wasn't being herself.
It was.
Wait did Meryl Streep not like Anne Hathaway why did she say that was the last nice thing she'd say LOL
@@Firespawnable if I remember correctly, Anne or Meryl said in an interview that Meryl didn't want to "break character" between scenes that could affect Miranda's personality and the 'relationship' between Miranda and Andy

Also, then she again compares Andy to herself, which just makes Andy think harder about whether she really wants that.
@@claudiaspence7814 LMAOO
Meryl is the elite. What she says goes.👑
The people working at Runway either aspire to be like her or try to take what she has, for themselves
Ergo: Everybody wants to be like her.
We got Streep!'
the boyfriend is actually the villain in this story.
Right?! Like support your fucking girlfriend, you know how hard she's working😬

Don’t u think that Anne was turning into whole other person? Just bc of her job that she didnt wanted that bad. That’s not cool at all, not healthy.People dont realise that. If she becomes someone that she does not like, her bf and her friends are not wrong by warning her.
Both are toxic to eachother.
Now if we're talking about after the cheating and Emily betrayal then yeah both have every right to be fuckin pissed.

I cringed when he said this film was low budget when it had the most expensive wardrobe ever.
Right!! People who don't know fashion don't understand how much all of that costs. They sank their entire budget into that glorious wardrobe!
The costume designer used her Sex and The City and Ugly Betty connects to get it.
The wardrobe can be easily donated by some rich MF's. It is low budget they only focused on the wardrobe. Which was ridiculous.

A lot of the clothes would have been donated by designers especially in the wardrobe scene. If the name is mentioned in the film they have a advertising arrangement with the company.
No. But that’s not what the movie is trying to tell you
Literally. She has bad friends.
Friendship needs work from both sides and (maybe it's clearer in the books) she basically abandoned her friends and her boyfriend herself
“This movie had a low budget?”
LOW BUDGET?!! They had luxury clothes everywhere, Paris, E! Reporters, Michael Kors, I meaannn, what?!
Surprisingly enough it was low budget, most of the clothes were donated by different designers (despite being threatened by head bitch of vogue that if they did they'd be blacklisted) the movie's budget was only $35 million which in terms of movies in Hollywood is very low budget.
More so than any of the people in the fashion industry actually because at least those dicks were open about the game they were playing.
especially the boyfriend, he was a complete asshole, never supported her
Great point, I always feel conflicted about the Friends... but never related them as "Assholes" and certainly they are!!

That's why Miranda says she thought Andy was different. Because Miranda thought she'd be the girl who wasn't just using her for a good recommendation.
That is...absolutely brilliant.
I have never seen this movie other than this commentary but I'm gonna agree with you because looking at it in a real-life perspective it makes sense
@@jacklyntree7752 you're gonna laugh at me for this, but:
This only occurred to me because I recently watched I Feel Pretty, and that movie actually pointed the same thing out.
Being an assistant wouldn’t get you to being a model. They’re two separate jobs.
Okay so now you NEED to watch Princess Diaries
MIkayla Di Angelo No xD
1st and 2nd part ahhaahahahah
it's iconic!!!!
A drop between a 6 and a 4 is actually one dress size, if it hasn’t already been said, but I totally agree with your point.
also, she most likely wasn’t wearing things that properly fit her prior to her makeover.
Fr her "ugly self" pre-makeover makes me look hideous and fat.
It wasn’t a fever dream! The same thing happened to me!!!!! Glad he reuploaded it!
Dylan.... low budget?????

I hated Anne Hathaway so much because of Princess Diaries. It took me a while to like her as an actress because of that character.
Did Anne Hathaway just say, "I'm not skinny".......?
Seriously....
It's called acting out a role
I do find it annoying and funny how skinny people complain about being fat...when.they.are.not.
@@Rosel13 again, it's a role she has to act out
@@thegoroakechi doesnt mean I won't criticise it
animayyy Agreed. Fat acceptance was not much of a thing back then. Skinny was considered pretty and no one was afraid to admit it.

i think he was saying how much he liked that emily would laugh at her own bitch joke 😂
Shreyas Batra I’m a 0-2 lol
Other sizes do exist! I’m a size 5, there are certain stores that have sizes 1,3,5,7,9
Actually, I believe I read somewhere that most of the clothing was borrowed because they didn’t have the budget they wanted to showcase all this fashion or get all the article pieces they wanted with the original budget.
@@parrisoverby I always thought that dress sizes were odd and pant sizes were even
Women’s sizes are even, juniors are odd. That’s American sizes and every manufacturer is slightly different. I think if you’re a 4 in women’s you’re a 5 in juniors, not positive though.
I'm sure the costume budget was probably more than half the overall budget.
definitely
It wasn’t.
This is the most expensively dressed film in history but most of the outfits were lent/rented due to a low costume budget.
From what I read I think it was 100,000
Ajay G most of the budget went to the big stars. They cut corners on others production costs, cus they know the names are a huge draw in.

Mate, we didn't see your reaction through the iconic Miranda speech about the blue sweater. I'm sad
@@IrKeNoVa i love that scene

I saw this movie a day before a big job interview. I had just come back from a string of internships where I felt this same pressure. You do a job that pushes you to the breaking point or that might go against your values all to get the good reference and name on your resume to get the job later on that you really want. And during those internships I said to myself "I am like a prostitute. I am selling my soul for a job." So as you can imagine this movie both resonated with me and terrified me for the job that I was going for, having no idea whether or not this would be the same. I'm happy to say I got the job, it is what I want, and I can now watch this movie without feeling bad about those past jobs.
Whoever wrote this story really understands young people and what they are willing to do for their careers.
Briana Lambert Yes, I have been the same way. Sometimes you suck it up for the experience, the contacts, the knowledge. The secret is not to take too long to go. It’s not selling your soul, it’s a long term plan.
