If you are a wheelchair user, if you attend a seated rock concert, when people stand in Beacon Hall you will not be able to see. Some artists encourage people to stand - that is the nature of concerts. Basically the accessible seats are not fit for purpose. There are seats in the upper floor, but as people crane to see, again, you won’t have a clear view of the stage. Staff will not ask people to sit. And don’t expect to have priority access in the lifts either, as security don’t seem to do anything about that. Out of the three events we attended, we have had these issues at all of them. James blunt was so bad a refund was issued. It is a fundamental design problem, despite the £132 million refurb, which had accessibility at its heart.
