If I have a pile of plywood that I want a very straight top cut or rip, I just put a 2x4 under the piece I want to cut and use clamps to secure a factory edge to it as a rip guide. You don't have to deal with all that lifting it on a sawhorse. The time spent is about the same. A worm drive is great because the blade stays in place and does not wander like a circular saw

I work an office job and recently got into woodworking and build a 6'x12' firewood crib and it feels amazing to be active again. Little bit on the weekends, and as weather allowed after work. Slow and steady is better than stagnant and doing nothing. I was shocked you dont have an impact driver at all

    Stupid question ahead.......
It seems to me that structures in the woods are going to be in a constant battle with moisture. Would it be stupid or wise to spray flooring and the underneath studs (and wall studs) with a deck stain?
Deck stain lasts a couple years being exposed and walked on, I'm guessing it would last 10 years if it was on the under side.
I'm just wondering if giving the structure a 10 year head start on rot would be a good thing.
BUT, I'm also thinking this could trap moisture and make my shed (cabin) rot faster.
So I don't know, who knows?

I have not watched your channel in a while. Got busy with life and had to get away from TH-cam for a while. I miss the shots of Shasta. I was under the impression that you had moved and I was curious why and to where? Maybe it was to get away from the fan boys. I remember the first video I saw that you did years ago when your boy was very young and you were putting a sliding glass door in or doing something on the house you had back door keep it going as you are an inspiration to all of us who work with our hands, I to do enjoy putting up TH-cam videos myself.

Beloved: I'm just over the New Mexico border into southern Colorado. After 10 years near Albuquerque, I'm finally back to working outside BAREFOOT. No Goat heads.

We did a deck like this and then a 100 year flood swept it away.

Should got Bora speed horses. I have them and absolutely love them. Use them every single day. Going 5 years and just as solid as the day I bought them

Looks nice. Unless you never get earthquakes up there I suggest at least one, pref. two, 2x4 stakes at each corner at least 2 feet into the ground. Just tossing that sheet of ply onto the deck nearly sent it all off its footings.

I have spent all summer tops off no shoes in the sun building a cabin here in Scotland and nothing beats the sun on your body and your feet in the grass.

After all these years watching your channel, I finally pick up a bottle of ballistol. The smell is amazing

I enjoy your videos but I would need to wear boots doing this. I would have dropped plywood and it's cutoffs and broken every one of my toes because I'm just that clumsy. I'm sorta like the old Mr Magoo from the old cartoons 😂
