South Park The Fractured But Whole was almost never made. As a toss up between working on a new South Park movie or a new game, Trey and Matt decided on the latter. With updated gameplay mechanics and incredible attention to detail, the sequel to South Park: The Stick of Truth was born. Implementing Final Fantasy styled tactics and doing everything it can to make you feel like a kid playing superheroes, I had an amazing time with this game.

Lilith Henry I was gonna comment the same thing. I think it’s a joke on Jimmy being disabled and how they usually get to the front of the lines in amusement parks with a “fast pass”.
Yes mostly for kids like jimmy unless its disneyworld/land
In this game it's a reference to Jimmy being disabled and being pretty slow. Same kind of thing like with Timmy in the last game.
Actually no fastpass is a little device you buy for your car when you live in a place like the bay area, it's basically a pay service that allows you to go through the tollbooths faster.

The real perk from the DLC is beating them on your first playthrough and then when you start a new game the 2 classes you get from the DLC are available at the start so you could start as Necromancer instead of Speedster and it really makes a replay feel a lot different

I'm a couple years late but I just completed this last week with my friend and it was one of the most enjoyable games I've played in a while. Got like 37 or so hours in to complete the main story. Taking a break then going through the DLC and then back to Stick Of Truth.
I just love how this game looks and feels just like an episode.

One interesting thing I found with the DLC is that if you play through the game again with the two DLC characters in your party, they'll respond to each other and more uniquely they'll potentially respond to each specific story fight, and you do get a few gems. I would just cut out danger deck because that one is just not worth it imho.
One correction, Timmy also has a power since he can actually talk to people telepathically, same with Mintberry Crunch

I grew up on South Park and I honestly believe it is where I got a lot of my healthy morals and deep thoughts on complex issues :D
FFT is the best combat system in the series. The most flexibility and potential personal customization in any turn based system, even later fire emblem titles.
In the intro when you unlock beard mode the cut on your lip disappears.... my immersion is broken and you have committed heresy of the highest order.

He’s probably been working on it for some time. But I expect the next game will be Yoshi’s Crafted World. It’s a 1st party Nintendo title, it just came out, and longtime viewers know that both Persona and Yoshi are gonna happen.

this game really burned me paying $60 for such a short game and to rub salt in the wound the price dropped so quick

Unless you really want a game, just wish list it and wait. I got mine this last black Friday sale on steam. I got the game with all the extras for 19.99 USD
No repetitive fetch quests, took a few days to complete, a ton of writing and alternate dialogue, engaging battle system, expansive customization options......I'm not really seeing the problem.
24 hours to complete the main story line isn’t that bad.

I think my favorite part was all the interactions whit the crew, is funny ear all your companions talking in the fights.
Plus: Days of Future Past references was just brilliant.
The replay value on the DLC is what sold me on it. After a couple months i forget a lot about games, and decide to have another go. Having the Biggles kids on the second play through has been fun (couple funny unique interactions with each other), they pair well, and you get the dlc artifact rewards and a lot of extra costumes to start. Diabolic difficulty isn't nearly hard enough though.
Yea it’s hard at the begging but you can level up as much as you want that’s what makes it way too easy tbh

I loved playing this game, and I loved this episode! I bought the game and the DLC in a bundle deal a few months ago during a deep sale. I really enjoyed the game and every odd second of if, but I wish the DLC had trophies.
Jirard has gone so in character that his voice is cracking like a kid's. This method acting thing is really effective..

I was wondering what your opinion of the "hard mode" specifically how it doesn't make the game much harder at all and actually makes parts easier and gives access to items that cant be obtained on easier modes. ?

At the very start, I thought I was watching the Stick of Truth, same intro.
My favourite part about the fights are that you fight adults, so I imagine they just go along with being attacked by kids in DIY superhero costumes.
I mean you fight kyles mom and she seems close to passing out at the end so I think you’re actually hurting them badly

The Canadian wall is from Season 19 (episode: Where my country gone?), it's there for a lore related reason and not a DLC one I'm afraid. I was surprised to see it when I got there myself (mostly because I had forgotten that had happened in universe) but yeah, lore thing.
It wasn't that Ubisoft wouldn't let them use Butthole, it was that stores would not put a game on the shelf for sale that had butthole on the cover. So he had to come up with a creative way of using butthole without using the actual word and he came up with But Whole

I bought this game on sale recently for Switch. With the gold edition costing about $10 more than vanilla, I thought that was a better deal for the DLC than regular price.

5:06 - Huh, I think that might have been the first time I've ever seen Jirard acknowledge the existence of this series.
Reminds me of that one time he brought up "Tales of Symphonia" at some point and eventually did an episode on it.
But as much as I'm a fan of it, that's one rabbit hole he shouldn't jump down into. Maybe just the first game (the recent re-release of it anyway) and the "Prinny" spin-offs as well, but that's it. The rest would be just too much to reasonably do, especially for a potential newcomer.

I used the Ubisoft Club points I had to get the assassin's Creed costume and never looked back. My powers in the end that I used were assassin powers, elementalist powers, and I think either speedster or martial artist for their speed past and knockback ability

When you say it's less final fantasy and more FF Tactics, I had a laugh. I actually tend to hate tactics games because I feel the combat style brings the game to a grinding halt. I feel south park did it so well that I didn't realize it was a tactics style until I watched this video.

If you enjoyed the Battle system on this one worth trying Radiant Historia. It's pretty much identical but the rest of the game is worthwhile playing too
With Joker coming to Smash this month and more news on Persona 5 The Royal on the 24th, it would be a great time to see you complete something from the Persona series.
i wish i could’ve finished the game. there’s a bug, kinda early on for the switch port and it prevents you from progressing and ubisoft never patched it

I completed this game on diabolical mode. Even beat Morgan freeman! Tips: knockback and statuses are more effective in the higher difficulty modes. It's pretty much required at that point.
I just copy pasted this from one of the recent episodes but: I know you played the first jet set radio game, but PLEASE play Jet Set Radio Future, it has way more content than the first game which makes it feel like a small collectathon which is super fun and in my opinion way better than the first game. Idk man I'm p sure captain diabetes has a actual superpower as he lifts heavy things outside battle, fast-pass is seen going super fast when taking the black stripper to his house, but he might just be using his own technology to do that. You also seemed to miss crunch he has actual powers too. Besides that yeah the others likely don't have super powers, though I will say that tweeks would be hard to fake. Great video :D

I remember I did a superhero project for Bio H. We had to describe genes of super heroes and we based our hero off of new kid. When we got to the origin our Bio teacher was dying. He never watched South Park but couldn’t stop laughing at how ridiculous the origin was.
