Just added prolube to wife's car while changing oil last week and it's so quiet now you almost don't know it's running, and fuel mileage has increased significantly as well!! Good stuff I'd recommend it 😊
I Added a Baxter Oil Filter adapter to run a Spin on Filter when mine started making a tick noise at 90k miles on my 2015 Pentastar 3.6 , used BG MOA Additive along with 5w30 oil, my engine is Quite and happy at 150k miles still
If you have bad roller rockers with broken or missing needle bearings, no oil will fix it. Take off the valve covers and replace the roller rockers every 90k miles.
Agreed, but it was not “certain” that was the issue. I show the faulty rocker at the end of the video. Don’t forget you have to pull the cams as well to change the rockers… it’s been well over a year now and all is quiet. Thanks for the feedback and channel support. 🙏🏻
I got the parts off Amazon, about $80 for one set of rockers and lifters. Then about $30 for the timing chain tension tools to relieve the pressure on the chain. Yes, I done it myself. Took a few hours because I was being extremely careful not to drop the timing chain into the cover. It’s now been over 1 year and it’s still quite as a mouse. 👍 I really wanted to get the exact mopar replacement parts but my budget wouldn’t allow it at the time.
@@KentuckyJeeper thanks for the reply! Yeah mine started ticking about a month ago so I haven’t been driving it.. I’ve liked around and some people are saying it’s like a $1400 job unless you can do it yourself.. I’ve never done that so I’m skeptical of doing it myself..
@@srod2 if you’re mechanically inclined and careful you can do it. But do your research on methods to use. Good to hear you parked it after hearing the tick, you probably saved the cams. As soon as I heard the tick from mine I parked it as well. 👍 I do not claim to be a professional at all, I just never had money to pay a garage to fix my junk. So I had to learn to do it myself. Good luck 🍀👍 This is the method I did…. th-cam.com/video/XkrwxVVcjsg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Xn77s2vSSyCZlzBJ
I went to the website just now and you are correct. The can says 2 oz per quart of oil. Although down at the bottom of the websites page it states “For best results use 1oz per quart, and for heavy duty or high mileage use 2oz per quart “. 👍
Lucas just thickens the oil , drain that out asap . Lucas and that 5w-30 is now about a 10w-40 . Do a fresh oil change with valvoline restore and protect 5w-20 and see what that does …. I think you might be surprised …

Definitely quieter and smoother. Need to get me some of that oil treatment.
I believe with Lucas you will have better results.
I use ProLube in all my vehicles. Good stuff.
Same here. It's made my Hemi so quiet, I can't even hardly hear it run anymore. It's a great product.
@@ricsccrI do believe I’m going to add it to all my vehicles during service. I agree with you, it’s a great product.
@KentuckyJeeper same here. Just bought the wife a new Subaru, first oil change I put it in. Prolube for the life of that motor.
@@ricsccr I actually drove over to their warehouse and bought my can. Got to talk to the old man. He’s a hoot, very nice people.
@KentuckyJeeper that's awesome. I wish I lived closer, I'm in Central NY.
Baxter filter adapter got rid of my dry starts but I’ve wanted to try this for preventative

I like the idea of the Baxter adapter, but I haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

Not oiling that rocker enough? Or possibly just a defective rocker?
Speculation suggests poor quality factory parts or design.
how much did it run you to fix ? I have a 2015 jk and it just started ticking .. have 112k miles on it.. did you replace yourself?

I shot this footage and completed the repair October of 2023. I just never edited it and posted until recently.

My can says 2oz per quart. And 1oz per quart for transmissions and differentials.
Hmm, I’m gonna have to go look at my can again then.

That's an exhaust leak 💯
😂 nope
Does
Did you notice an increase in mpg?
I never considered checking, the Jeep gets horrible mileage anyway.
It foes sound better
Stop using penzoil!!! I build motors and the motors that are the worst are the penz motors.
Use factory filters and castrol gtx and your vehicle will thank you
Sounds the same
He's got an exhaust leak 💯 very common with his vehicle
No exhaust leaks…
