Paul Rudd did keep a straight face but there *was* a moment -- when Kate swung her leg over his shoulder -- that he looked a little frightened.
I think the ear was a prosthetic.

My fav McKinnon character; and "Cathy Anne" with Cecily is my fav of hers.
I like how she always manages to end up with her cooter and her tooter on full display.

Christopher Shibles same here. When I seen the thumbnail of this clip I was so stoked. In fact it brought me back to my herion days when I was about to do a line. I had to jump to the comments to express my enjoyment before I even watch it.

Kate McKinnon has had scores of womens’ shoulders upon which to build her craft, which Gilda Radner did not. Gilda was stand-out for her generation. She was absolutely epic for her time as Kate is today.
Taking this to its logical end, 30 years from now there will be another stand-out female comic who will not diminish Kate, in the same way that Kate does not diminish the accomplishments of Gilda, because you cannot take what was considered hilarious for one generation and compare it equally to another.
Gilda was just as hilarious and even more ground-breaking in getting female comic skits onto the SNL stage moreover providing comics like Kate a greater chance at success.

Did Casey Affleck break in the Santa one? I think he managed to keep it together too, but the fact Rudd managed to stay in character while McKinnon was riding his neck and tonguing his ear is even more impressive.

I watched that part twice and he literally makes no reaction to “wakanda”, his face is set before and remains un moved after, i think you may have seen something that didnt happen

This sketch is truly some of the best writing on SNL. And I love how they tend to follow a pretty strict formula -- same actors + the guest host. A wish they would do a compilation of all the Ms. Rafferty sketches. 😊👍
