  • Challenging, beautiful, horrific... everything an adventure needs really!
This time, I'm returning to the lake district, this time, in search of climbing new mountains. A five hour drive up to Langdale, I had semi planned the first day of scaling the Langdale pikes.
    Harrison Stickle (736m)
    Loft Crag (682m)
    Pike of Stickle (709m)
I had a goal of finding a spot to camp with a view that would take my breathe away. Although I may have achieved that goal... it was a stupid goal to have. Whilst I did get to enjoy my dinner with one of the best views I've had, I only managed 2 hours of broken sleep due to fairly strong gusts.
The next day, I set off aiming for one mountain and accidently bagging another! At this point, I'm not even surprised by myself anymore...
Although a beautiful day, gingers, up exposed mountains, in the sun, without a hat, is a dangerous mix and a can safely say, i was pretty exhausted after summiting another 3 mountains.
    Esk Pike (885m)
    Great End (910m)
Scafell Pike (978m - Tallest mountain in England)
This trip, although climbing the wrong mountain and forgetting some basics (like a hat!), has given me a huge amount of confidence in being comfortable when isolated out in the mountains. Still lots to fix, but more on that later.
Hope you enjoy watching and would love to hear you're thoughts, would you have done anything differently? Whack it in the comments below. Don't forget to subscribe to see more adventures like this, or check out the "Find Your Wild" series for hints, tips and tricks on all things adventure.
    Thanks for watching!!

Geoff you’re a hero! Was up Crib Goch yesterday when your comment came through and really helped push me on 🫡. Definitely recommend giving to solo adventuring a go. It builds a completely different mindset when you only have yourself to talk too 😂. Trick is start easy then go bigger as you get more comfortable with it. Happy to give you any pointers too, just send me a message 👍

Stunning views Matt, but it did look like it was a gruelling hike in some places! I'm glad you looked happier from the middle than you did at the beginning :)

Great hiking vibes mate, the intro instantly got me hooked and the scenery of the LD always amazes me looks so beautiful out there. Camping spots are super cozy and remote, great video! Looking forward to following your future adventures. Happy trails, Mario

Its always mind boggling when you look at distance covered after a good tab where everything looks on a massive scale then you realise its only been 4 and a half miles :) Great vid, new subscriber.

I always think that! Looking off at the horizon thinking “man, I’ve done loads” then realising it’s actually not the far 😂. Thanks for the sub, really appreciate it.

First time watching you, a great video and well put together with some of my favourite places but sorry to say the music spoilt it a little bit for me.

Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it. The music does split opinions sometimes, I do like the all natural more ASMR type channels I’ve seen and might have to try it. Unfortunately, I have yet to invest in a mic so sometimes I have to put music on just to cover the bad audio. Really appreciate the feedback buddy 🙏

Lough Neagh in Northern Ireland is the largest lake in the UK, but not as pretty!

Thank you!! I did think that was wrong, should probably do more research before visiting an area haha. Windmere is gorgeous but wouldn’t mind going for a paddle out on Louth Neagh!

I did think that as I was editing it, was so busy enjoying the views myself I forgot to share them 🤦‍♂️. Don’t worry, I’ll make extra effort with the next one! Thanks for the feedback and the sub, you legend!
