i really respect your decision to let your 3rd catch go without weighing and measuring. you are definitely the most “level headed” fishing youtuber for lack of a better term. some people are so immersed in the hobby and the content creation that they feel more like a brand then human. love your stuff!
Hey, thank you, my friend! I appreciate ya saying that. I'm pretty new to fishing still, but I've also seen a lot of poorly handled fish on TH-cam. I'll keep trying to lead by example, best I can.
That's a fun lake to fish. I caught a 4-lber on my kayak there a few months ago. I'm willing to bet theres more big ones there for sure. There are a handful of other lakes in the area worth trying too.
I use a tool called a hemostat, basically a long surgical pliers, which gives a little more precision when unhooking a fish. The kind that are scissors + pliers are my favorite.
Nice! We living the same time line right now lol. I'm fishing in Washington. Definitely get a baitcaster! Such a fun reel to fish with. I'm about to get another already, I'm gonna get another daiwa tatula 100. (I think)
Just found your channel, where in Wa. are you located.? I’m in the Olympia area, do a ton of bass fishing and want to do some tournaments in the near future to.
Hey! I'm up in the kitsap and olympic peninsula mostly. Just got my catch boards delivered to use on my next videos, so hopefully I'll be ready for a tournament soon. I thought I'd have one lined up by now, but my brother n I had a last minute planning for an Alaska salmon fishing trip at the end of the month. Welcome to the channel, my friend!
@@NWTrailSeries if your ever interested, Pattison lake is in Olympia and it hold a ton of huge bass. I’ll be starting to film some videos on fishing to.
I'd suggest either a wacky worm set-up or a Ned rig. I've had huge succes with the wackyworm, cast near Lilly pads or any cover. My bro has had crazy success with the Ned rig pretty much everywhere. Both require patience and slow retrieve. But I think those were both of our confidence lures for bass to start out with

@@NWTrailSeriesthere are tricks to get those out. Also, keep a can of Mountain Dew with ya, that fiz helps clot the bass blood.

I'm convinced I'm gonna catch a big one out there. Out to try again this weekend!

I'll look into those!
I definitely wanted something better for the job that day. Those look like they would make it 10 times easier
Nice chill practice session! 12 hours is a long day but looked like you had a good day dude! Nice to see the jerk bait work for ya!
Was definitely my longest day lol. I think my previous was like 10. If the bite had continued, I'd probably still be out there lol
@@NWTrailSeries lol determined and passionate bro! Love it!
Love it! Just started fishing last year too! Hoping to get my first bait caster soon! What state you fishing in?

Do you use mono or braid on your Pfluger combo?
I use braid with a flouro leader
Any tips for catching bass I am 15 and have been fishing for 4 months and never caught a bass

Lost a ten pounder in there
I've heard rumors!
Definitely my favorite local lake, by far. Biggest I've found in there was a 2.95lb, so far! I'll keep trying though
