Bono's voice has changed so much throughout the years. Still heavenly and the rest of the band musically is stellar.
U2 is the greatest rock band of the last 40 years and the biggest live band of the last 35 years
I’ve seen them 21 times. There is nothing like a U2 concert. You really need to explore their discography and check out more of their live performances.
It’s indeed about a toxic relationship, a twisted love song is what Bono called it himself. It has all the twists, doubts and beauty of real relationships in it. It’s not a lovey dovey song, though people still play it on their weddings apparently: they must not listen to the lyrics :-) The song recently reached a billion streams on Spotify.
I've heard this song a thousand times before, but only recently has it--unfortunately--resonated with me so much. Really appreciate hearing about your own experience and how applicable it is to the song. I know heartache is just a part of life, but sometimes it's just comforting to be able to relate w/ someone else's story.
Excellent reaction and lyrical interpretation. U2's "With or Without You" will always be one the best tracks by any musical act in general. Glad you covered this band, thank you. If you want to hear another gem, check out U2's song "One" off of their innovative and highly successful 90's breakthrough album *Achtung Baby.* In fact, every song appearing on the entire album of "Achtung Baby" is worth reacting to, in my humble opinion. Agreed. The album version of this song is much better than this version. Some people are experts at phrasing in a song; (Willie Nelson comes to mind). Bono is not one of them.

Thank goodness I went to the Joshua Tree concert when this album was released, Holy Cow! What an amazing concert and this song is my favorite off that album...
Well, that was 37 years ago, dude’s older (and he smoked for a while in the 90’s and did a number on his voice). He’s still a good singer though.
Also, when you’ve sung a song every day for 37 years you might not WANT to do it the same way every time
