@@shanetyler9391 Yeah, I also have a 19” basic Philips with composite sitting around. It also has an amazing picture. Thanks for watching, appreciate it!

Take a picture of the tube sticker. If its a Philips EAK or ESF tube then its a lovely high end consumer tube found in many Philips, Loewe, Grundig and B&O sets found in Europe and other PAL countries where SCART was commonplace.

I've got a 25 inch Philips from this era (same chassis design), looks great through RGB Scart (I'm in the UK) which is all you need at SD outputs. The old Philips before LG bought them tuned the colours differently than far eastern sets, in the far east they like (for some reason) an orange hue but as Philips were a Euro brand they tended to be tuned in a more balanced hue.

@darthwiizius Thanks for sharing that! It really is a great CRT. Americans don’t get the native RGB experience, but I think transcoding it to Component should look fairly comparable. I couldnt find much on this model, but similar Philips with the same chassis seem to have a similar picture quality

Chances are your set is using a component interface to drive the RGB guns in the back, I imagine it has a chip on the board to convert the YBR to RGB. A good solution for the US market with no Scart coverage. I used to have a 32 inch Pixel Plus set which I gave to a friend, I didn't have the space for it but I still regret it. That was their actual top of the range set in the early noughties, it had 5.1 Dolby Digital and sounded better than most little all in one kits you could buy. Best CRT I ever owned.

This looks fantastic! Picture is sharp and crisp. What are the tunes that you’re playing throughout the video?

@@playmooregames371 Thanks Josh. I love it also. It’s going to stick around as a backup since I have the 310 as the main gaming CRT.
The tunes I picked in order is one of the opening theme tracks to the Terminator game for the Sega Mega Drive. Then a track from Bucky O’Hare (NES), then a track from Duke Nukem Total Meltdown, and finally the office track from Gremlins II for the NES.

@ The only track I recognized was from Gremlins 2.

Like always No Scart on the TV :D Typical USA.

@@maniatore2006 Nope. Only through a mod. I always recommend a SCART to Component transcoder as an easy plug and play solution. The results are essentially the same.
