Yeah, SynthV is great and all, but sounding not very human-like is one of Vocaloid's greatest charms. That being said, one of Vocaloid's reasons for falling behind is due to it's ridiculous prices despite it's current quality and accessibility, so yeah...
Yeah, also I heard that vocaloid is making a new engin called vocaloid B and it sounds a bit better than vocaloid 6, so maybe in the future we will get a better version of vocaloid for vocaloid 7 if it even happens
The problem is that the noise engine ends up hindering the success of Vocaloid, since this type of product is aimed at professional music production, not amateurs, so the noise is a disadvantage, which is why Synth V is growing more and more, for having high quality products, attracting investments from this area of the industry such as AH-Software and other companies, in addition to being most requested by music producers who need quality voices! That's why Vocaloid isn't going forward, we're no longer in 2014 for the world to like a hologram girl who has a robotic voice, we're practically in 2024 and we need powerful and realistic voices to sing songs efficiently.
That was the initial point of the Vocaloid, it's a Vocal "Android" and if I remember correctly, that was their point, to sound robotic. But yeah... people wanted the realistic ones. I still like the somewhat robotic sound of Vocaloid but if it's realistic human sounding voices that's not really human, yeah Synth V. I think both has different goals. Still like Vocaloid but also like Synth V. I wanted ALL the cryptonloids to have a Synth V (but personally, I just want the Kagamines LOL) but since they created NT... I feel like that might be a miracle if it comes true.
the great thing about synthv is that you can have realistic vocals for consumers who need that, while those same voices can also be fine tuned within synthv to sound just as charmingly choppy and robotic as they used to. There’s literally no downside.
SynthV also has a free version which is also really nice! But yeah Vocaloid is falling behind a bit. I still kinda want vocaloid though just because of Flowers voicebank.
I hope this opens up the platform for discussion As a long time vocal synth user, the reason why I almost never used vocaloid was because of a multi-layered issue it had for a lot of years It refuses to adapt and when it does, it's always half-baked. From the tuning UI being fucked to the point where people notebend basic curves bc of how inflexible vocaloid's pitch tool is, to zooming in distorting the UI and the start-up of the program taking 30 years... Vocaloid isn't just behind, it's held together by duct tape and glue, only staying relevant because the community works REALLY hard to make things sound good. Even UTAU has better tools for realism, expression, and pitch control, and it hasn't even officially updated (ik ameya is working on smth) in over a decade! Now contrast that to my experience with SynthV, the devs feel like they completely understand the plights of the community as it supports tuning styles whether you came from vocaloid/utau, it has fantastic vocal quality, a constantly improving engine, and a UI that's both straightforward and an absolute joy to work with I hope synthV shakes vocaloid and has it question its massive price tag
the hilarious thing about all this is that crypton actually was part of the team working on teto synthv!! so the fact that NT sounds like...that...is even funnier
I mean Teto IS basically a Piapro character (she's under CFM copyright or some shit, wait, it's called Piapro Character Licensing, aka PCL) but, like @GeneralNuisance00 said, they didn't do anything in the development
Idk but I hope that this starts ringing alarms for the people in crypton, even if they have the most popular vb they're really gonna get left behind if they don't do anything abt it lol
@@TehAwesomeGodI agree I also got Fukase too a few months ago and I was literally having a breakdown trying to make him sing FUCKING HAPPY BIRTHDAY as a gift for my father but I’m trying to put some faith into Fukase and suck it up and try my best to tune so I know I didn’t wasted so much money on him😢(I’m from Indonesia if your wondering, the currency here is really weak)
fun fact:according to the vocaloid wiki, teto actually had a private voicebank with crypton but that idea got scrapped,if that happened, vocaloid would be popular again
It was scrapped due to the fact that there were unfavorable results (they tried to get Teto into THE REAL VOCALOID and recorded samples with Oyamano Mayo herself but the voicebank was very, VERY low quality, that's why)
" Have fun in Piapro Studio ". 💀💀💀 We need CryptoLoids and everyone else in SynthV. Luka first. And it's also a chance that Kaito and Meiko will be finally understood while singing. I love them with all of my heart.
Honestly, if the software gets an update or the prices start to match the quality of the product then thats good enough. There is a reason why vocaloids and utau are being used for songs despite programmes like vsynth with more realistic voices existing. Its because some songs like housewife radio, hito mania and bug benifit from the robotic tone of their voice. So im not really that thrilled at gumi getting a vsynth. Especially because it sounds like a stand alone voice with only hints of gumis previous voice, even more so than teto, who still sounds very much like her old voice.
Bug was actually commissioned by project sekai for a character event, they commission people involved with the vocaloid community specifically, so i don't think it's an exact example... the reason it got commissioned was the vocaloid part. But your point is 100% correct!!!
@@evrenisprettyuniversalyeah yeah ik, I'm a pjsekai player and nightcord is my fav group! But I mean like the electronic vocals really complemented mikus voice. But I think a better example would have been a maretu song probably. There are very few people that can pull off a maretu song
