  • Thanks to our good friends at NineStitch www.ninestitch.com, we now have upgraded, comfortable, and easily adjustable seats. In this video, we take out the seats, separate the halves, remove the old shocks, creatively compress and install the new shocks, and almost break my hand!

    Great to see, these seemingly little changes wil get you smiling even more in your E30. Smart way of presetting the shock to the right dimension and keep working save in the process. Keep it up (litteraly)

    Pretty dangerous repair Frank. Didn't know these do exist! Think they will sell out very quickly, haha. And finally, we saw the wife behind the TH-camr, kind of ;-) Dutch regards and have a nice weekend.

    There’s a tool to push the piston down, well worth getting, even I’ve struggled to get it on and that with scratching it a lot

    good to know about this option. last I checked it was like $400 bucks to replace all 8! I'll definitely go this route when the time comes!

    Seems like they are so strong that once it pushes out, some people's body weight may not push them back in.

    Lol. I am trying to find these shocks for like 1 month. Now in 2 days I will have my custom-made. By the way I live in Greece and even from Germany I couldn't find them(or they don't ship them)

      They are available on Amazon.de for around 20€ per piece. They’re OEM (Stabilus). Here’s the part: Stabilus 252794 Gas Spring, seat backrest Adjustment. Already installed mine and couldn’t be happier. Cheers

    I love my e30 but any DIY I do I do with such fear of brittle bits breaking.

    Wow thanks, wondering why my tilt seat has so much slop when trying to tilt the seat back, it completely drops into like a bed. 6:42 was worried when you did that was expecting something bad to happen.

    What kind of aftermarket sport seats would you do on an e31? I want something without all the electronics, just reclinability. But I still would like to have butt warmers 😆. It's hard to go with something simple because of the integrated seatbelt.

    • @Garageaholic
      @Garageaholic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd go with a nice set of recaro's or corbeau's. Those are quality seats that have the basic functions. You can always add heating elements to them later, under the lining of the seat skin!
