Damien yelling at his sister for not wanting him to help her keep everything stable broke me and I ended up crying...... but William losing his sanity also breaks my heart.
Characters like him are my favorite and most interesting to me, because he feels human. Extremely flawed, extremely guilty, doesn't take things well and an attitude to go alongside all of that. It makes it so much more poignant when he ends up actually not being evil, not a one-sided villain and not even a villain at all. He was the killer, but he was not the villain. He was one of the biggest victims. Now *THAT'S* an interesting character

God, poor Wilford.. In WAIA, you can see how much Wilford truly regrets his mistake through the robot. All he wants and needs is forgiveness and closure. Poor guy just needs a hug.
The colonel was Wilford Warfstache Damien was Darkipler Mark is Markiplier Its all so confusing but makes so much sense at the same time and worst of all... I'm not sure who we are all to trust
Basically: The Host, Markiplier, was in a relationship with Celine. The Colonel had an affair with Celine. The Host now wants revenge. He invites everyone to his mansion, and asks the colonel to settle their spat over a game of russian roulette (not shown). The Host rigs the gun so that the colonel kills him. Oh BTW when somebody dies in this house, their soul is then trapped in said house. The Host's soul is now detached from his body, and uses magic to swap into Damien/The Mayor's body. Damien's soul is then trapped in the house. When Celine pulls The-Host-in-Damien's-Body into the spooky room, The-Host-in-Damien's-Body uses more magic to trap Celine with Damien's soul in the house. The Colonel shoots the viewer's character by accident, and the viewer ends up in the house as well. Celine's soul and Damien's soul want to get out, so they use some magic to take the viewer's body, so that they can get back to real life and get their revenge on The Host. The Colonel, seeing the viewer alive, goes insane, becoming the deranged Warfstache. The viewer's soul is trapped in the house, and Celine and Damien's souls collectively inhibit the viewer's body, forming Darkiplier. Oh, also, the house is alive and is what actually orchestrates all of this. tl;dr: Darkiplier origin story. Mark married Celine. Colonel and Celine have an affair. Mark kills himself, takes Damien's body. Celine and Damien take the viewer's body, becoming Darkiplier. Colonel goes insane, becoming Wilfred Warfstache.
Honestly, I love the way Mark did the Colonel's psychotic break. Like Mark said, losing those you love leads to grief, not insanity. Accidentally killing an innocent person leads to guilt, not insanity. The loss of Damien and Celine did not create Warfstache. The killing of the District Attorny (aka the viewer) did not create Warfstache. Instead, you can see that it's the moment when the Colonel sees the broken corpse that he's been staring at for 10 hours straight gets up and walks is the moment his psyche shatters like glass, and that is what creates Warfstache
*So, as far as i can tell from the scene when were dead, mark killed Damien, and took his identity, Damien then convinces you to let him take your body. The Comic Kid If Mark became Dark, how would Mark still exist? Edit: I retract my question. You're not entirely wrong. I glossed over a bit of the last bit because I guess I was too tired. Our spirit and Selen are important bits too. Suggesting that if Damien's spirit becomes too weak, or placated, others could gain control. Or perhaps it was a complete take over and only scraps now influence the "main" spirit. Only time will tell to see how Dark is fleshed out.

Not really. He was loyal to Damien and Celine, he states many times that he stays for his friends, and then lists those two but he doesn't include Mark.

I'd like to see him try a bit of a more unique format, personally. The premise has been done to death. Don't get me wrong, his delivery on that premise was incredibly unique and I loved it even though the middle dragged a bit and almost didn't keep my interest. Despite the fact that it's well done it's still not unique as a premise, the whole whodunnit sort of thing. I'd love to see how he tackles, A) Something with a more unique premise, and B) Something that stands on its own and doesn't rely on already established characters such as Wilford Warfstache and Darkiplier for its dramatic effect - though I did enjoy that he didn't cast his friends in the roles just because they were his friends. He seems to have actually put more attention on who would be good for the roles rather than who he was closest friends with - something I respect. If he did that and still pulled off something as great as this, then yeah I'd love to see him with at least a half Hollywood budget.

No, Colonel… it wasn’t your fault. That bastard wanted you to “kill” him. I sincerely hope Mark the creator allows closure for the Colonel somewhere in the future. Will has all this guilt and sorrow- as a viewer of this story I ache for his character to find peace, a sound mind, and the truth.
This whole time you’ve been asking yourself the same question. Who killed Markiplier? Who would bring themselves to murder a man that we all loved and adored? But what if you’ve been asking the wrong question? What if the answer was not in Mark, but in the people he surrounded himself with? After all, who are the other people in this manner? The Colonel. A man of high standing. A eccentric individual who just so happens to be the same age as Mark, according to the Butler. Curious isn’t it? Think about how many similarities they bare between one another. The Chef also claims to have worked for the Colonel, but when? And the Colonel claims that the manor is his own, yet Markiplier resides there? Why? Because he does own the manor. They both do. For they are brothers. Mark and the Colonel were twins, born under the same roof. They shared the same lives, living in pampered luxury, both the Chef and the Butler tending to their every wish. But just because their bodies are the same doesn’t mean that they are equal. Mark was destined for greatness. He had it all. Wealth, power, charisma, everything a person could want. Everything a girl would want. A girl like Celine. Curious and bright eyed, ready to take the world for a test run. She found Mark, a match made in heaven. They fell in love, but only for so long. Because someone else loved Celine. Somebody who had been relegated to the sidelines for so long. The Colonel. When she met him, he was the reject, the inferior copy relegated to stand behind the shadow of his brother. But as they spent more time together, she saw him as a man of honor and passion. Their adventures together slowly became more and more intense, more exciting, which pleased Celine. After all, with Mark’s near unlimited riches and acting career taking him from home, she could enjoy life without him. Until thing went awry. She left for her next step in life, leaving the mess with the Colonel. The Colonel soon found himself in far too much trouble. He had gone too far he needed help. He couldn’t turn to his brother, so he had to look higher up. Who could help him? Simple. Damian could. The mayor needed his own kind of help. The Secretary of State on his back and all the negative publicity was bringing his reputation down. He need a boost, something that would improve his public image. And then the news of the Hunt came from his Secretary. Damian couldn’t believe it. If news about it got out, he would be ruined. But soon both the Mayor and the Colonel realised that everything could be solved with just a little bit of cooperation. Through the Colonel, Damian met Mark, and the two instantly hit it off. New people easily caught on, and through Mark the Mayor’s ratings shot through the roof. In exchange for the help, Damian used his powers to cover up the Hunt, allowing the Colonel to enjoy life again. Everything was fine until someone stuck their nose where it didn’t belong. When it was finally uncovered news about the Hunt spread like wildfire. The Colonel disappeared, nobody could find him for months. Celine had already left Mark, out pursuing the strange world of Occult magic. Damian hid behind the walls of his office, waiting for the storm to blow over. And deep within the walls of the manor, sitting alone by the fireplace, was Mark. Mark felt betrayed. The love of his life had been with his brother all this time, while his best friend did the dirty work to cover it all up. Everyone had betrayed him, and he wanted revenge. He cut of all ties to the Colonel he had. He even went as far as to remove his name from the lease of the house. But he wasn't enough. He had to get more than petty revenge. He would break them all. And then, as he was cleaning out Celine’s room, he found it. A book of arcane arts, of strange incantations. One even mentioned the power of body possession. And soon the plan came into effect. He invited everyone for a game of poker, a simple night together. And as the night grew late, Mark made his move. How was he going to kill them without people without anyone suspecting him as the murderer? The only way to do so would be to stage his own death. Nobody would suspect him to be the killer if he was dead. Through the occult arts, he killed Damian and put a curse on the house. His soul was transferred into Damian, his body becoming Mark’s vessel. It worked like a charm. Damian’s body was surprisingly similar to Mark’s, enough so that nobody would be able to tell the two had switched places. With the night ending, Mark returned to the Mayor’s office and played the fool. His act was good enough, and nobody suspected a thing. From there Mark had to be careful. He tried to draw the Colonel out by himself, but we kept getting in the way. He was never able to make a move with us nearby the whole time. Through pure coincidence we had become a shield for the Colonel. Mark had no reason to kill us, we had never done him any wrong. We were only there to make the party seem more authentic, as if it were an actual gathering of friends instead of a stage for murder. Celine could feel the dark magic emanating from the house. Despite declining the invitation, she came to the manor to put a stop to it all. She knew somebody was the vessel, but she could not find out who. She tried to use us as a way to find the murderer, but the ritual was stopped too soon. Think about it? Why would Damian want Celine not to use her magic to figure out the killer? Was it really because it would be dangerous? Or was it because he knew she would find out? When the two of them were alone, he tried to possess her too, tried to take her over, which is why she simply stood there when we came to her room. She was too strong to be possessed, but not strong enough to defeat Mark. She died and Mark disappeared, still in Damian’s body. The entire event drove the Colonel to the brink. The guilt he felt combined with the death’s of all those he held dear. It drove him over the edge. He killed the Detective and then, after a series of unfortunate events, us as well. After which he went mad, becoming nothing more than a shell of his former self. And that was the end. Mark left the manor after accomplishing everything he sought out to do. Those who had wronged him were dead, and anyone who could’ve stopped him were either dead or insane. He had won. Or so he thought. Because from the darkened void of death, we were born. A combination of all those whom he had wronged. Damian’s will. Celine’s powers. Our body. We have no need to dispose of the Colonel, his mind is already shattered. His penance has been paid. But the man who did this to us, the one that orchestrated it all, he still walks free, unashamed, unpunished. We will not let that stand. We are Darkiplier. We will have our revenge.
You forgot the part about how Dark used ur body to come into to the real but leaves our spirit in the house as shown by him walking away leaving us looking at the mirro Dark manipulated us and used us to leave the spirit realm and use a worldly body to get revenge on mark

We seek an opportunity. once in an eternity to finally pay Mark back for the suffering he put them through all those centuries ago. They possess him. he doesnt know it. but they are there. Lurking. distorting. manipulating.

It was honestly heartbreaking to watch the Colonel laugh and smile with the conclusion that everything was a joke, to be driven to such insanity that you do such a thing is incredibly sad. The whole thing was really very sad but also beautifully done, I loved it :')

Holy shit, ok this was the recommended video after the Willard Warfstache Automated Interview better, and at the end he said, “I didn’t mean to kill him, was it my fault?” And I found out that Colonel went crazy and turned into Willard Warfstache, Colonel was framed, and he didn’t know it.
this is actually so sad. the fact that the colonel thought that he didn't kill anyone. that he went basically insane because all his friends were dead. this was super good writing and a really good explanation as to how darkiplier came to be.
So, I’m my opinion, as odd as it may seem, is that Mark is not Darkiplier, but something worse. And Darkiplier is a creation used to fight against him. In the “Damien” animation, Mark called Damien the “villain” to Mark’s “hero.” So when Damien promised to Celene that Mark would get a villain, it happened. So it’s a battle of two evils to see which one is greater.
Morgan Collins Anti is a different thing, i don’t know the backstory of Anti but i don’t believe they’re the same they’re different stories that intertwine, i think? i don’t really know much about the backstory of anti nor of dark until this
@@sodapop2976 I don't think Anti has the same sort of cemented story as Dark and the other Iplier Egos. jack said he bases Anti off of fanart and that "everything is canon", whereas Mark is very clearly trying to tell his own story through his Egos. I don't think Anti really fits in with the Iplier lore.
7:24-8:15 just... watch this for a moment. listen to what's being said. listen to the music. look at the emotion on their faces. this isn't the epic villain story of Darkiplier. this is the tragic beginnings of a sad and very hurt man. this isn't the funny story of the unhinged Warfstache. this is the breaking point of a man descending into insanity. here we see a backstory done so brilliantly. it's treated as the truly sad moment it is.

The red and blue light effect on Dark makes so much sense now- In the "in-between" world, Damien is shown in a blue light, while Celene is in a red light. Meanwhile, we constantly see things in black and white when having a "flash back" or "vision", which could explain why Dark is always seen in a monochromatic view. I do wonder why Y/N has those...
ONE LINE. ONE EFFING LINE THAT CAUGHT MY ATTENTION A Date With Markiplier, one of the scenes during Darkiplier's confrontation with you. "i've been waiting patiently. he PROMISED he would let me in" Who Killed Markiplier? - The Final Chapter, 6:17 "But I know that I trust Celine, and if you trust us, just.. let me in." -- one more line from A Date With Markiplier, scenes from Darkiplier's confrontation that caught my attention after watching this. "I've missed you,.. very much. I've been waiting a long time to see you again." -- might be overthinking that but is there perhaps a tie to those? the origin of darkiplier and wilford warfstache. just a big ol' pile of revenge and madness. wilford now thinks that death is just a big prank and they'll come back somewhere down the line, so maybe that's why he kills so foolishly and blindly. mark takes over damien's body, seeking revenge on the colonel for stealing what was once his. damien and celine are pissed at mark for trapping them in limbo over his own thirst for revenge so they take over your body to get revenge on mark for trapping them in limbo, which now creates darkiplier. the suit, the attitude. demonic and emo. damien, and celine. shit, mark. shit.
We aren't the same person on the date as we are in this story. This is an origin story so for all intents and purposes the person we were in the shoes of now has been consumed. This also being said, supposedly *the real Mark DIES in all of this* so a date with markiplier isn't possible. Unless this is done years in the future when Mark has become an asshole and Darkiplier is getting a true host at Mark's get together. If this came first, the cook wouldn't have treated Mark like he did in a date with Markiplier, because he'd have seen Mark dead (in these clips) and is behind the fact that Mark is a flesh-eating zombie. So in all honesty, this as a flash forward sounds more reasonable except for the fact that this might be the creation of Dark, and not just him getting a proper host.
We already let him in, its just that I think Darkiplier may have got Mark pinned down somewhere before "A Date with Markiplier" and Mark was probably pressured to promise to let Damien back into his body in a matter of years but by the time ADwM happens Damien is still in Darkiplier with us so he's extremly angry at Mark and so we end up hunting him down in ADwM which we end up running into someone that looks like us which is why the white rages (Our aura) as we remember our former self. But because Damien was leading the hunt in an old cracking shell our soul is exerting pressure which is why a white Darkiplier can be seen in the freedom route, however this does not mean that we are trying to escape, it is simply meaning that the shell is slowly decaying and that the three souls combined hate cannot be contained inside causing glitches and spasms in the body.

I think we were tricked in the end by Damien and Selene. Not saved, but used as a host. See how Darkiplier's colour outline at the end are red and blue, as they typically are, and after we "die," Damien is outlined in blue and Selene in red. They used us, took us over, and when we came in contact with Damien's staff, we unleashed them. There's also a popular theory about William, the Colonel, being Wilford Warfstache. Wilford _is_ a byproduct of the name William, after all... and Wilford is depicted as a man who went insane, is delusional, and dangerous without a cause, just as William was described by Selene and how he appears at the end; insane and in denial. Edit: Okay, I think I've got more. Darkiplier, if I am correct, is composed of three people. The Mayor, Damien, The Seer, Selene, and us/us as we are portrayed in this. We were used as the host, while Selene and Damien are the controllers, the manipulators. They want revenge on Mark, so they took us over, and then are trying to take over Mark as it is in "A Date With Markiplier." Hear when the Mayor says "Just let me in..." that is what Darkiplier said in ADWM, too. We are the person trying to break free of Dark, but it's two against one. Mark, though, has more power over Dark. It's why Dark says "let me in _again,_ " because Mark can expell Dark from controlling him. Mark himself said he portrays Darkiplier as a manipulatior, someone who will gain your trust and then stab you in the back... and that's exactly how Selene and Damien got to us. Fooled us into trusting them, "if you can trust us..." "this is the only way..." That is who Dark is. That is why Dark's outline is red and blue. That is why Dark has double voices. That is why someone appears to be trying to escape from inside Dark. That is why Dark exists... and why he torments Mark.
Also something to think about, in a date with markiplier in the beginning he says that we look familiar. Then dark tries to make us "let him in" so maybe we are part of darkiplier in a date with markiplier
YES THIS EXACTLY WHAT I HAD THOUGHT. The Colonel has the same getup as Wilford after you "wake up" and the mustache, flip it to pink and BAM. The clothing for both characters correlates, they're connection to Mark, how Damien is so confused about Mark dying. Because if the Colonel and Damian are Wilford and Dark, then they are PART of Mark, Mark is their host and probably wouldn't be able to live without him. But we do know that these entities can be in the same area at the same time, we see that in TV Markiplier. Maybe I am completely wrong but jesus this is all exciting regardless!
So in the end I believe, the colonel became "Wilford 'MOTHERLOVING' Warfstache" due to his actions becoming strange and his memory failing him. We, the main character, became Darkiplier. A combination of Celine, Damian, and you. Celine gave us our powers, Damian gave us the fuel to get revenge on the unpunished Mark. You became their vessel. Darkiplier now hunts Mark. But if you paid attention to the end, a voice clip is heard of the detective now hunting Wilford. Extra Section: The Detective is hunting Wilford because he knew what Mark was doing and that he ruined the plan. After years of searching, and finding Wilford, neither can remember why the detective is hunting Wilford. Damien finds himself stuck in the woods with Celine. A dream occurs where he hears Wilford and the Detective. After a while, Damien meets Mark again and they have an argument, Mark saying he is the Hero, Damien is the villain. Celine 'kills' Mark. Damien remembers what happened after realizing he may be about to be dead. Celine and Damien have a conversation becoming Darkiplier. Both die in the dream. IN SPACE WITH MARKIPLIER: Now that all else has been discussed, I believe that "In space with Markiplier" is just a continuation. Wilford Warfstache shows up twice so far. Various glitches in the storyline point towards Darkiplier. But I'm done with writing today, too tired to go on. Good luck.
really late, but im pretty sure darkiplier is only made up of Celine and Damien, meanwhile we got kicked out from our own body (which is now dark's vessel) and is stuck on the mansion forever.
This is my interpretation after Mark's explanation... The Colonel is Warfstache... he went mad after this whole ordeal, so he thinks that murder and death is all "a joke"... The Colonel, the Detective, Celine, the Mayor and Mark are all childhood friends. Celine and Mark were married, but the Colonel and Celine had an affair, hence why the Colonel wasn't sad about Mark's death. The Mayor was the only one who was truly upset about Mark's death... When the Detective talked about how Mark was killed with multiple murder methods, it was actually Mark who had done all those things to himself - he had tried to kill himself because he was devastated over the affair... The HOUSE is actually a living being AND is a gateway to a parallel dimension (Mark was inspired by the UPSIDE DOWN from Stranger Things) and death doesn't mean the same thing inside the House... Celine played around with the entities in the other dimension and got possessed, all while the Mayor was in the same room... so basically, they both crossed over into the UPSIDE DOWN... the origin of DARKIPLIER is that CELINE, the MAYOR, and a DARK ENTITY from the parallel dimension meshed together in one body. As for the person behind the camera - it's YOU and YOU are the District Attorney. Now, as for why YOU turn into Dark at the end, I think Mark likes to leave so called 'canon' up to the fans and you can make of that what you will. I still think Mark should write a Book.
TheDarkestStarRMS2 I think as far as why we end up as Dark, we were booted from our body. But, Celine and Damien gave us the option to live on with them. In Mark’s body. I believe that we are the third entity inside of Dark. But, the combined anger and sadness from all three corrupted the new being and became Dark. But, hey, that’s just a theory!

In the Ned Affair by Cyndago (love you Daniel), after Wilford Warfstache shoots one of the officers, he says “It was an accident I swear!” In a sarcastic tone In WKM, when the District Attorney falls of the balcony after being shot by the Colonel (or Warfstache), what does he say... “It was an accident, I swear!” mArK wAs ThIs intEntioNal?!
Am I the only one who found the scariest of this entire last part to be Abe's (detective's) final message to William (Colonel)? Just the static with the coughing with a distorted voice on a black screen. And the line: "You better run!" shows much vengeance in it. Gave me shivers.
I love the slightly pained look on Celine’s face after Damien says he trusts her, like she wants to tell him not to, she wants to tell him what has to be done, who has to be left behind (the viewer) for them to survive. But she can’t because she doesn’t want the viewer to say no and get herself and Damien stuck there for eternity. She just does what she feels she has to in order to take care of her brother and that’s so fucking sad.
The Protagonist might have broke his neck when he fell down, at 7:57 when "You" look at the mirror you then fix your neck back to where it was. It must mean Dark can fix his body back without feeling pain.
Oh!!!! I think I get it. So Mark somehow switched bodies with the Mayor but then killed the mayor. He then disappeared in the end after Selene died. Once the Colonel kills the detective and then accidentally kills you, Selene and the Mayor pull you into what I am viewing as Purgatory. Once you agree to allow them to join you in your body, you come back fused together as Darkiplier. The colonel goes insane because he sees you are alive and refuses to believe that everyone is dead. Then we get up, change our appearance to that of Dark and set out to get Mark. But something happens between us and the Colonel so we threaten him at the end. ( At least, that's what I think is what happened.)
I agree for the most part, but I think it was Mark that was after the Colonel. Mark's study is littered with things that show negative sentiment towards the Colonel and the Detectives whole speech before he dies shows that there is some strife between the Colonel and Mark. And Mark is still out there somewhere in Damien's Body. He could be hunting the now insane Colonel. Also, Dark seems more concerned with getting Mark than getting the Colonel.
Both Damien and Celine said that the Colonel is their friend, hence why Darkiplier says that he respects Wilford in Markiplier TV. That person at the end was probably Mark who (after gaining the new body with Damien) wants revenge on the man who took his wife and then his life,
It actually ends up rather sad in the end. Considering it starts off as a cliche murder mystery story and ends with the occult, a man gone insane thinking his friends were pranking him and a story going much deeper than anything we could have imagined. It's more emotional than I thought it would be
Wait... Mark killed himself in revenge and took Damian's body and trapped Damian and Selene (sorry if I'm misspelling their names). When the colonel killed "us", we see Selene and Damian and I think their souls merged and became dark. (At first when they pick up the staff you see a woman's hand and it turns into a mans). Every time I rwwatch this I can't help but feel extremely sad and bad for the colonel. When he says "it was all a joke, I didn't kill anybody!" And so on I always feel so bad as he stumbles away. Also, when dark See's himself the mirror, his expression is so good, like you can see all the anger. Amazing acting mark
Kannan Achuthan of course! So this whole series is basically an origin story of darkiplier and Wilford warfstache. In this video, we see ourselves fall off the balcony and then see Celine and Damien in the darkiplier colors, in a dark space. This was showing their souls. Their not completely dead as they say, but they're trapped. But using your body, Damien and Celine were able to come back out. Mark, (the real mark) also was not the good guy, but he was the one who caused all of this and brought the worst in them out. So, that leaves Celine and Damien and you, all trapped in one body as Darkiplier, seeking revenge on the kernel who then turns into Wilford warfstache. He continues killing people and believing it's all a game and they'll come back. Edit: I also forgot to add, that the house has a curse, as well as Mark and Damien and every one else, which causes them to act so harshly. At the end the voice we hear is the detective who gets the curse too, and wants revenge on the kernel. This also leaves the chef who goes on to be the same chef as in the date with markiplier videos. It may not be the best explanation sorry, but I hope I cleared a bit up for you.

The most ominous thing I find after rewatching these... is the vengence-filled, anger-filled echo after the viewer dies when Selene and Damien talk. There's something wrong and the viewer can hear it... but Damien's their friend and they trust him. He's never done them wrong, how could he now? (Edit) But the worst thing is... Colonel knew he did something wrong. He knew he did this. He knew he's done something wrong. But he can't put his finger on it, and so he runs off to find his friends... but theyre gone, so what can he do but stay the way he is.
And then Damien and Celine go and yoink your body for themselves (something similar to that anyways) and your left at the mansion They completely betrayed your trust and used you to go get their own revenge and that part of the story really makes me sad
So...this is how Darkiplier was born. I think how this happened is when Damien and Celine fused in the protagonist's body which is us, but the mysterious entity which is the one who said "it's not fair isn't it" the one who is held inside Mark followed Celine and Damien into the protagonist's body, but Celine did not know they were gonna be followed so that mysterious entity overpowered them and be the one who controls the body. and this kinda explains why Darkiplier screams and shouts in the "a Heist with Markiplier" series. Darkiplier is screaming and shouting because Celine and Damien are still trying to fight off that mysterious entity and gain control of the body.

So the victim (Mark) was the culprit the entire time and has been in Damien's body throughout the whole series. All of this because he wants revenge on the Colonel and Celine. Let's just say this series teaches us that revenge can lead you down a dangerous path.
Guys! That voice in the end sounded nothing like Damien! And Mark never uses the main character's voice in the skit. My theory is that the voice in the end was The Detective if that's where you got the revenge theory. It even sounds the same too. But, God, memories.
Mark killed himself and took over the colonels body... that's why the colonel said "you call me a murderer in my own house!". When we leave to find the groundskeeper, mark attempts to seal away the souls of Celine and Damien so they don't find out the truth. He then takes over Damien's body, which is why the colonel is insane and doesn't know of anything. It also explains why Damien said "I can't believe he is walking in my body". In the end, darkiplier takes over your body, the colonel goes insane, the detective is dead, and mark is alive inside of Damien's body
I would like to add that in the end, we don't control that body anymore. So I believe we are actually trapped inside the mirror, giving Darkiplier a chance to escape with it.

So Mark killed Damien, Celine and himself. He made his and Celine's bodies dissapear and he took Damien's body so Celine and Damien couldn't get out of the void. The Colonel killed us. That's why our body didn't dissappear. Then Celine and Damien took our body and became Darkiplier. Does that mean that in that universe death doesn't really matter?
Key: normal text = the story Bold text = questions/ voice in my head I think this is what happened: Our body, Celene's powers and Damien's wits make up Darkiplier. But Darkiplier is also a different person than all of us. *How is he a different person if he's made of us?* He's a different person because he used all of us to make him a separate being with the same basic idea. He was created because Celene broke Mark's heart (When She Cheated cheated on him with the colonel) and Mark wanted revenge. He planned to break them. Break every person that betrayed him. *But he had no plan?* He then found a spell. A spell used to take over someone's body. He found it while looking through Celene's room. *After all, she does love magic, doesn't she?* He used this to make a plan. He then invited all of his former friends to play poker. He planned to take over Damien's body and kill his old body. *I mean, no one would think that mark could murder himself, right?* He succeeded. At the end, when the colonel shot us, we were trapped I the house with Damien and Celene. *After all,we died.* Celene is in the house because while we were outside with the grounds keeper, he was in Damien's body, trying to take over Celene's too. But Celene was too powerful and her body ended up dying and getting trapped in the house. When we died, Darkiplier was created. *Why created with our body? * Celene used our body to hold Darkiplier because our body was the only one available. Though our body died, Celene used magic to not only bring it back to working condition, but also to add: Damien's wits and Celene's powers. But then, it showed how Darkiplier used us to become independent, a different being from us. How he used us to get out and into the real. To get out of the house. This is shown by the mirror. When we look in the mirror we see Darkiplier in our body, and when he walks away, and when our POV doesn't follow, it shows that he left us. He became a new being, leaving us to be in the house with Celene and Damien. Then, because the colonel thought that he can't kill people after seeing us, after him shooting us, alive. *After all, people come back, right?* In other words, he's already broken (this is also why, in "Wilford MOTHERLOVING Warfstache", the detective says he's killed people and he says he didn't). Because he's broken, Darkiplier doesn't need to take care of him. Instead, Darkiplier needs to leave our soul in the house, in the mirror, and get revenge. Mark is in Damien's body and thinks he can get away with no consequence. No. Darkiplier won't allow it. So, the moral of the story is: We, Celene, and Damien, are Darkiplier (Although now we are not a part of Darkiplier any more because he left us in the house). We only made up the parts of Darkiplier, now he is his own person, with his goal: get revenge on Mark. The colonel is Wilford Warfstache, and has gone insane after watching his friends die and come back to life. Lastly, Mark's body has no one in it because Marks in Damien's body.
Oh. My. God. This is the best fucking series I have ever watched. The moment I realized that this was the backstory of Darkplier AND Wilfred Warfstache I flipped shit. I applaud how complex the story was and how it was so eloquently executed. Mark this is true genius.
Isabella Ruggiero The Colonel is Wilford Warfstache, Mark's character with the pink moustache. The Colonel went insane after sitting with the District Attorney's corpse for ten hours and then watching it get up. He lost his mind when that happened, our Mark confirmed this in a livestream btw. And at the end when the camera looks into the mirror, we see the "birth" of the entity that is Darkiplier, a fusion almost of Celine and Damien, as well as a bit of the evil presence that's been in the house.
When I saw this ending I literally cried. Seeing the colonel going insane thinking that he didn’t kill anyone only to see the dead body’s in the other rooms, and me realizing it’s all our faults. If we had just stayed dead he would come to his senses and move on, but because we came back to life he thinks it was all a joke and he went insane because of it.

Anything that normal Mark wouldn't do is attributed to Darkiplier. He typically wears a black blazer and has a blue/red hue around him

Theories and head-canon aren't the same thing; it's a head-canon if it is confirmed to be something else (such as if you are one of those people that still insist that FNAF 2 isn't a prequel), but it's just a theory if we don't known and it is reasonably possible for that to be the case.

That Damien, Darkiplier was the villain and that he was the hero. And we believed it. But we were wrong. yeah, basically. (Spoilers) mark basically tricked the colonel into killing him, and then mark got Damien and Celine killed, as well as the main character. Then, Damien and Celine take over your body and leave you trapped in the house, when they go after mark. The colonel went insane, obviously, after everything, and became wilford warfstache. Celine and Damien became Darkiplier. I believe that’s what happened , anyways. If I’m incorrect , someone please correct me!
Okay in the live stream where mark talks abt WKM, he has a theory on the broken wine bottle. Basically, Mark and the Colonel were alone in the cellar, and to prove that there was no bad blood between the two, they played russian roulette, but Mark made it so that the bullet would kill him. Mark shoots the Colonel, nothing happens. The Colonel shoots Mark, Mark dies. So yeah, the Colonel killed Mark (on accident)

After reading lots of theories and debates through viewers on multiple different platforms, re-watching the videos in themselves Marks personal theories and personal interpretations and after the "Wilford 'MOTHERLOVING' Warfstache'" video, I'll give my best to say what I believe is as accurate as I can get to a confusing mess that is the amazing world Mark has made. As the Colonel stated, "Life needs a bit of madness, eh, chap?" and what I find interesting is that this also correlates towards what Damien and Markiplier (The character, not Mark himself states) for example, Marks own interpretation of it is "Life is for the living" and Damien's is "Life is ours to choose." This is one of the more interesting facts I gathered from Marks video explaining 'Who Killed Markipier' Anyways, I'd recommend backtracking, because this'll get very in depth and very confusing. Before we begin, George the groundskeeper is the oldest person which has worked there, the Chef eventually being hired and treating him to meals, them becoming friends and the Chef letting him live close in secret. The timeline would start from the fact that the William (The colonel) and Mark grew up in the House (Which we'll get back to). After a period of time Damien became friends with them and they became a trio. Round about then Mark becomes "good friends" as the Detective describes it with Abe (The detective) from him hiring the detective for things he wanted, e.g: Investigating people. After a presumed long time knowing Celine, Mark gets married with her, further down the line she eventually leaves him and runs off with William. This had been affecting Mark a lot, since the Colonel had Mark fund his expeditions like the Safari Hunts the Detective uses for evidence. Now, Mark went dark and cut connections with everyone, including the Detective. He hired the Butler to work for him. He had been alone for a long time, and this is where the house I referenced from earlier comes into now. The house is cursed, going back generations of families which terrible things have happened to. The entity within this house uses the emotions of the person living there the most (whether good or not). After Mark attempts suicide, it fails. He awakes in the room which we promptly speak to Damien and Celine after being 'murdered' by William. And he comes back. Being confused, he begins to study the home and all of the mysteries surrounding it. After understanding the mansion further, he knows he can't die. So, he formulates a plan of revenge towards William after being bitter and influenced by the entity for so long after he essentially took Marks money and stole Celine from him (In Mark's eyes) He begins injuring himself in as many ways as possible, (The list going from the detective "INVESTIGATING" his body.) He then invites everyone back to his manor for a reunion, including the newly appointed Mayor, of course being Damien and his friend, the District Attorney, being you, the viewer. After everyone is drunk (Besides Mark himself) He invites William to the cellar to play a game of Russian Roulette. There's one bullet in the gun, and Mark tells him how they both have an agenda against each other, and this would be getting rid of that, from if the Colonel dies, Mark's satisfied, and if Mark dies, the Colonel is "satisfied." Mark rigs it in order for the Colonel to shoot him. William gets nervous and attempts to hide the corpse and evidence, presumably taking a small rest from being drunk and leaving Mark downstairs until he woke up and was able to continue hiding him. Of course, this doesn't work and William falls asleep for the whole night, and we find Marks body. Now, Episode 1 happens and Mark wakes up as whenever you die in the house you awake and the fact that the entity keeps him alive, leading to how everyone then believes he's a zombie and the colonel becomes unsure of what's happened. Then Celine comes, which Mark didn't account for. He only wanted to frame William. Although, eventually the entity convinces Mark of a new plan. This is when we need to theorize. My prediction is that when you, the Detective and the Chef are interrogating George, Celine becomes possessed from the fact that she's spent years meddling with dark magic, allowing her to become vulnerable to be possessed. She then, kills Damien, making Mark take over his body and the entity forces Celine to stab herself. Both go to the place we mentioned earlier when Mark first died and are trapped there due to the entity trapping them there. So Episode 4 plays out, and after the colonel shoots the Detective and you you wake up in the place where Damien and Celine went. They have a plan, with best intentions, and leave your spirit within the house while Damien, Celine and the entity merge to create Darkiplier. After you go back, William goes into madness not from denial which everyone believes, but because you seemingly just came back to life.

Well, if both Celine & Damien combined with the entity and the entity itself seemingly has control of the house, like bringing people back, it's safe to assume that both Celine and Damiens bodies are either in the place you go to where you die in the house, or in the room we were last in with Celine when we saw the vision of George in Episode 3.

Characters like him are my favorite and most interesting to me, because he feels human. Extremely flawed, extremely guilty, doesn't take things well and an attitude to go alongside all of that. It makes it so much more poignant when he ends up actually not being evil, not a one-sided villain and not even a villain at all. He was the killer, but he was not the villain. He was one of the biggest victims. Now *THAT'S* an interesting character

Basically: The Host, Markiplier, was in a relationship with Celine. The Colonel had an affair with Celine. The Host now wants revenge. He invites everyone to his mansion, and asks the colonel to settle their spat over a game of russian roulette (not shown). The Host rigs the gun so that the colonel kills him. Oh BTW when somebody dies in this house, their soul is then trapped in said house. The Host's soul is now detached from his body, and uses magic to swap into Damien/The Mayor's body. Damien's soul is then trapped in the house. When Celine pulls The-Host-in-Damien's-Body into the spooky room, The-Host-in-Damien's-Body uses more magic to trap Celine with Damien's soul in the house. The Colonel shoots the viewer's character by accident, and the viewer ends up in the house as well. Celine's soul and Damien's soul want to get out, so they use some magic to take the viewer's body, so that they can get back to real life and get their revenge on The Host. The Colonel, seeing the viewer alive, goes insane, becoming the deranged Warfstache. The viewer's soul is trapped in the house, and Celine and Damien's souls collectively inhibit the viewer's body, forming Darkiplier. Oh, also, the house is alive and is what actually orchestrates all of this.
tl;dr: Darkiplier origin story. Mark married Celine. Colonel and Celine have an affair. Mark kills himself, takes Damien's body. Celine and Damien take the viewer's body, becoming Darkiplier. Colonel goes insane, becoming Wilfred Warfstache.
This is quite possibly the scariest story ever told. That, and Mark actually is using it as lore for his alter egos.

Honestly, I love the way Mark did the Colonel's psychotic break. Like Mark said, losing those you love leads to grief, not insanity. Accidentally killing an innocent person leads to guilt, not insanity. The loss of Damien and Celine did not create Warfstache. The killing of the District Attorny (aka the viewer) did not create Warfstache. Instead, you can see that it's the moment when the Colonel sees the broken corpse that he's been staring at for 10 hours straight gets up and walks is the moment his psyche shatters like glass, and that is what creates Warfstache

Edit: I retract my question. You're not entirely wrong. I glossed over a bit of the last bit because I guess I was too tired. Our spirit and Selen are important bits too. Suggesting that if Damien's spirit becomes too weak, or placated, others could gain control. Or perhaps it was a complete take over and only scraps now influence the "main" spirit. Only time will tell to see how Dark is fleshed out.

I'd like to see him try a bit of a more unique format, personally. The premise has been done to death.
Don't get me wrong, his delivery on that premise was incredibly unique and I loved it even though the middle dragged a bit and almost didn't keep my interest.
Despite the fact that it's well done it's still not unique as a premise, the whole whodunnit sort of thing. I'd love to see how he tackles, A) Something with a more unique premise, and B) Something that stands on its own and doesn't rely on already established characters such as Wilford Warfstache and Darkiplier for its dramatic effect - though I did enjoy that he didn't cast his friends in the roles just because they were his friends. He seems to have actually put more attention on who would be good for the roles rather than who he was closest friends with - something I respect.
If he did that and still pulled off something as great as this, then yeah I'd love to see him with at least a half Hollywood budget.

I sincerely hope Mark the creator allows closure for the Colonel somewhere in the future. Will has all this guilt and sorrow- as a viewer of this story I ache for his character to find peace, a sound mind, and the truth.
This whole time you’ve been asking yourself the same question. Who killed Markiplier? Who would bring themselves to murder a man that we all loved and adored? But what if you’ve been asking the wrong question? What if the answer was not in Mark, but in the people he surrounded himself with? After all, who are the other people in this manner?
The Colonel. A man of high standing. A eccentric individual who just so happens to be the same age as Mark, according to the Butler. Curious isn’t it? Think about how many similarities they bare between one another. The Chef also claims to have worked for the Colonel, but when? And the Colonel claims that the manor is his own, yet Markiplier resides there? Why? Because he does own the manor. They both do. For they are brothers. Mark and the Colonel were twins, born under the same roof. They shared the same lives, living in pampered luxury, both the Chef and the Butler tending to their every wish. But just because their bodies are the same doesn’t mean that they are equal. Mark was destined for greatness. He had it all. Wealth, power, charisma, everything a person could want. Everything a girl would want.
A girl like Celine. Curious and bright eyed, ready to take the world for a test run. She found Mark, a match made in heaven. They fell in love, but only for so long. Because someone else loved Celine. Somebody who had been relegated to the sidelines for so long. The Colonel. When she met him, he was the reject, the inferior copy relegated to stand behind the shadow of his brother. But as they spent more time together, she saw him as a man of honor and passion. Their adventures together slowly became more and more intense, more exciting, which pleased Celine. After all, with Mark’s near unlimited riches and acting career taking him from home, she could enjoy life without him. Until thing went awry. A hunting trip had turned far too sour for her taste, and she new once the news had gone out, her husband would find out and everything would be ruined. She left for her next step in life, leaving the mess with the Colonel. The Colonel soon found himself in far too much trouble. He had gone too far he needed help. He couldn’t turn to his brother, so he had to look higher up. Who could help him? Simple.
Damian could. The mayor needed his own kind of help. The Secretary of State on his back and all the negative publicity was bringing his reputation down. He need a boost, something that would improve his public image. And then the news of the Hunt came from his Secretary. Damian couldn’t believe it. If news about it got out, he would be ruined. But soon both the Mayor and the Colonel realised that everything could be solved with just a little bit of cooperation. Through the Colonel, Damian met Mark, and the two instantly hit it off. New people easily caught on, and through Mark the Mayor’s ratings shot through the roof. In exchange for the help, Damian used his powers to cover up the Hunt, allowing the Colonel to enjoy life again.
Everything was fine until someone stuck their nose where it didn’t belong. When it was finally uncovered news about the Hunt spread like wildfire. The Colonel disappeared, nobody could find him for months. Celine had already left Mark, out pursuing the strange world of Occult magic. Damian hid behind the walls of his office, waiting for the storm to blow over. And deep within the walls of the manor, sitting alone by the fireplace, was Mark. Mark felt betrayed. The love of his life had been with his brother all this time, while his best friend did the dirty work to cover it all up. Everyone had betrayed him, and he wanted revenge. He cut of all ties to the Colonel he had. He even went as far as to remove his name from the lease of the house. But he wasn't enough. He had to get more than petty revenge. He would break them all. And then, as he was cleaning out Celine’s room, he found it. A book of arcane arts, of strange incantations. One even mentioned the power of body possession. And soon the plan came into effect.
He invited everyone for a game of poker, a simple night together. And as the night grew late, Mark made his move. How was he going to kill them without people without anyone suspecting him as the murderer? The only way to do so would be to stage his own death. Nobody would suspect him to be the killer if he was dead. Through the occult arts, he killed Damian and put a curse on the house. His soul was transferred into Damian, his body becoming Mark’s vessel. It worked like a charm. Damian’s body was surprisingly similar to Mark’s, enough so that nobody would be able to tell the two had switched places. With the night ending, Mark returned to the Mayor’s office and played the fool. His act was good enough, and nobody suspected a thing. From there Mark had to be careful. He tried to draw the Colonel out by himself, but we kept getting in the way. He was never able to make a move with us nearby the whole time. Through pure coincidence we had become a shield for the Colonel. Mark had no reason to kill us, we had never done him any wrong. We were only there to make the party seem more authentic, as if it were an actual gathering of friends instead of a stage for murder.
Celine could feel the dark magic emanating from the house. Despite declining the invitation, she came to the manor to put a stop to it all. She knew somebody was the vessel, but she could not find out who. She tried to use us as a way to find the murderer, but the ritual was stopped too soon. Think about it? Why would Damian want Celine not to use her magic to figure out the killer? Was it really because it would be dangerous? Or was it because he knew she would find out? When the two of them were alone, he tried to possess her too, tried to take her over, which is why she simply stood there when we came to her room. She was too strong to be possessed, but not strong enough to defeat Mark. She died and Mark disappeared, still in Damian’s body.
The entire event drove the Colonel to the brink. The guilt he felt combined with the death’s of all those he held dear. It drove him over the edge. He killed the Detective and then, after a series of unfortunate events, us as well. After which he went mad, becoming nothing more than a shell of his former self. And that was the end. Mark left the manor after accomplishing everything he sought out to do. Those who had wronged him were dead, and anyone who could’ve stopped him were either dead or insane. He had won.
Or so he thought. Because from the darkened void of death, we were born. A combination of all those whom he had wronged. Damian’s will. Celine’s powers. Our body. We have no need to dispose of the Colonel, his mind is already shattered. His penance has been paid. But the man who did this to us, the one that orchestrated it all, he still walks free, unashamed, unpunished. We will not let that stand.
We are Darkiplier. We will have our revenge.
You forgot the part about how Dark used ur body to come into to the real but leaves our spirit in the house as shown by him walking away leaving us looking at the mirro Dark manipulated us and used us to leave the spirit realm and use a worldly body to get revenge on mark

Holy shit, ok this was the recommended video after the Willard Warfstache Automated Interview better, and at the end he said, “I didn’t mean to kill him, was it my fault?” And I found out that Colonel went crazy and turned into Willard Warfstache, Colonel was framed, and he didn’t know it.

So, I’m my opinion, as odd as it may seem, is that Mark is not Darkiplier, but something worse. And Darkiplier is a creation used to fight against him. In the “Damien” animation, Mark called Damien the “villain” to Mark’s “hero.” So when Damien promised to Celene that Mark would get a villain, it happened. So it’s a battle of two evils to see which one is greater.

The red and blue light effect on Dark makes so much sense now- In the "in-between" world, Damien is shown in a blue light, while Celene is in a red light. Meanwhile, we constantly see things in black and white when having a "flash back" or "vision", which could explain why Dark is always seen in a monochromatic view. I do wonder why Y/N has those...

We aren't the same person on the date as we are in this story. This is an origin story so for all intents and purposes the person we were in the shoes of now has been consumed.
This also being said, supposedly *the real Mark DIES in all of this* so a date with markiplier isn't possible. Unless this is done years in the future when Mark has become an asshole and Darkiplier is getting a true host at Mark's get together. If this came first, the cook wouldn't have treated Mark like he did in a date with Markiplier, because he'd have seen Mark dead (in these clips) and is behind the fact that Mark is a flesh-eating zombie. So in all honesty, this as a flash forward sounds more reasonable except for the fact that this might be the creation of Dark, and not just him getting a proper host.
We already let him in, its just that I think Darkiplier may have got Mark pinned down somewhere before "A Date with Markiplier" and Mark was probably pressured to promise to let Damien back into his body in a matter of years but by the time ADwM happens Damien is still in Darkiplier with us so he's extremly angry at Mark and so we end up hunting him down in ADwM which we end up running into someone that looks like us which is why the white rages (Our aura) as we remember our former self. But because Damien was leading the hunt in an old cracking shell our soul is exerting pressure which is why a white Darkiplier can be seen in the freedom route, however this does not mean that we are trying to escape, it is simply meaning that the shell is slowly decaying and that the three souls combined hate cannot be contained inside causing glitches and spasms in the body.

I think we were tricked in the end by Damien and Selene. Not saved, but used as a host. See how Darkiplier's colour outline at the end are red and blue, as they typically are, and after we "die," Damien is outlined in blue and Selene in red. They used us, took us over, and when we came in contact with Damien's staff, we unleashed them. There's also a popular theory about William, the Colonel, being Wilford Warfstache. Wilford _is_ a byproduct of the name William, after all... and Wilford is depicted as a man who went insane, is delusional, and dangerous without a cause, just as William was described by Selene and how he appears at the end; insane and in denial.
Edit: Okay, I think I've got more. Darkiplier, if I am correct, is composed of three people. The Mayor, Damien, The Seer, Selene, and us/us as we are portrayed in this. We were used as the host, while Selene and Damien are the controllers, the manipulators. They want revenge on Mark, so they took us over, and then are trying to take over Mark as it is in "A Date With Markiplier." Hear when the Mayor says "Just let me in..." that is what Darkiplier said in ADWM, too. We are the person trying to break free of Dark, but it's two against one. Mark, though, has more power over Dark. It's why Dark says "let me in _again,_ " because Mark can expell Dark from controlling him. Mark himself said he portrays Darkiplier as a manipulatior, someone who will gain your trust and then stab you in the back... and that's exactly how Selene and Damien got to us. Fooled us into trusting them, "if you can trust us..." "this is the only way..."
That is who Dark is. That is why Dark's outline is red and blue. That is why Dark has double voices. That is why someone appears to be trying to escape from inside Dark. That is why Dark exists... and why he torments Mark.

YES THIS EXACTLY WHAT I HAD THOUGHT. The Colonel has the same getup as Wilford after you "wake up" and the mustache, flip it to pink and BAM. The clothing for both characters correlates, they're connection to Mark, how Damien is so confused about Mark dying. Because if the Colonel and Damian are Wilford and Dark, then they are PART of Mark, Mark is their host and probably wouldn't be able to live without him. But we do know that these entities can be in the same area at the same time, we see that in TV Markiplier. Maybe I am completely wrong but jesus this is all exciting regardless!
So in the end I believe, the colonel became "Wilford 'MOTHERLOVING' Warfstache" due to his actions becoming strange and his memory failing him. We, the main character, became Darkiplier. A combination of Celine, Damian, and you. Celine gave us our powers, Damian gave us the fuel to get revenge on the unpunished Mark. You became their vessel. Darkiplier now hunts Mark. But if you paid attention to the end, a voice clip is heard of the detective now hunting Wilford.
Extra Section:
The Detective is hunting Wilford because he knew what Mark was doing and that he ruined the plan. After years of searching, and finding Wilford, neither can remember why the detective is hunting Wilford.
Damien finds himself stuck in the woods with Celine. A dream occurs where he hears Wilford and the Detective. After a while, Damien meets Mark again and they have an argument, Mark saying he is the Hero, Damien is the villain. Celine 'kills' Mark. Damien remembers what happened after realizing he may be about to be dead. Celine and Damien have a conversation becoming Darkiplier. Both die in the dream.
IN SPACE WITH MARKIPLIER:
Now that all else has been discussed, I believe that "In space with Markiplier" is just a continuation. Wilford Warfstache shows up twice so far. Various glitches in the storyline point towards Darkiplier. But I'm done with writing today, too tired to go on. Good luck.

really late, but im pretty sure darkiplier is only made up of Celine and Damien, meanwhile we got kicked out from our own body (which is now dark's vessel) and is stuck on the mansion forever.
This is my interpretation after Mark's explanation... The Colonel is Warfstache... he went mad after this whole ordeal, so he thinks that murder and death is all "a joke"... The Colonel, the Detective, Celine, the Mayor and Mark are all childhood friends. Celine and Mark were married, but the Colonel and Celine had an affair, hence why the Colonel wasn't sad about Mark's death. The Mayor was the only one who was truly upset about Mark's death... When the Detective talked about how Mark was killed with multiple murder methods, it was actually Mark who had done all those things to himself - he had tried to kill himself because he was devastated over the affair... The HOUSE is actually a living being AND is a gateway to a parallel dimension (Mark was inspired by the UPSIDE DOWN from Stranger Things) and death doesn't mean the same thing inside the House... Celine played around with the entities in the other dimension and got possessed, all while the Mayor was in the same room... so basically, they both crossed over into the UPSIDE DOWN... the origin of DARKIPLIER is that CELINE, the MAYOR, and a DARK ENTITY from the parallel dimension meshed together in one body.
As for the person behind the camera - it's YOU and YOU are the District Attorney. Now, as for why YOU turn into Dark at the end, I think Mark likes to leave so called 'canon' up to the fans and you can make of that what you will. I still think Mark should write a Book.

I believe that we are the third entity inside of Dark. But, the combined anger and sadness from all three corrupted the new being and became Dark.

I love the slightly pained look on Celine’s face after Damien says he trusts her, like she wants to tell him not to, she wants to tell him what has to be done, who has to be left behind (the viewer) for them to survive. But she can’t because she doesn’t want the viewer to say no and get herself and Damien stuck there for eternity. She just does what she feels she has to in order to take care of her brother and that’s so fucking sad.

Oh!!!! I think I get it. So Mark somehow switched bodies with the Mayor but then killed the mayor. He then disappeared in the end after Selene died. Once the Colonel kills the detective and then accidentally kills you, Selene and the Mayor pull you into what I am viewing as Purgatory. Once you agree to allow them to join you in your body, you come back fused together as Darkiplier. The colonel goes insane because he sees you are alive and refuses to believe that everyone is dead. Then we get up, change our appearance to that of Dark and set out to get Mark. But something happens between us and the Colonel so we threaten him at the end. ( At least, that's what I think is what happened.)
I agree for the most part, but I think it was Mark that was after the Colonel. Mark's study is littered with things that show negative sentiment towards the Colonel and the Detectives whole speech before he dies shows that there is some strife between the Colonel and Mark. And Mark is still out there somewhere in Damien's Body. He could be hunting the now insane Colonel. Also, Dark seems more concerned with getting Mark than getting the Colonel.

It actually ends up rather sad in the end. Considering it starts off as a cliche murder mystery story and ends with the occult, a man gone insane thinking his friends were pranking him and a story going much deeper than anything we could have imagined. It's more emotional than I thought it would be
Wait... Mark killed himself in revenge and took Damian's body and trapped Damian and Selene (sorry if I'm misspelling their names). When the colonel killed "us", we see Selene and Damian and I think their souls merged and became dark. (At first when they pick up the staff you see a woman's hand and it turns into a mans). The mirror cracked to trap us back in the house while dark traveled away.
Edit: also the colonel becomes Wilford and kills people because he thinks everyone he kills comes back to life.

So this whole series is basically an origin story of darkiplier and Wilford warfstache. In this video, we see ourselves fall off the balcony and then see Celine and Damien in the darkiplier colors, in a dark space. This was showing their souls. Their not completely dead as they say, but they're trapped. But using your body, Damien and Celine were able to come back out.
Mark, (the real mark) also was not the good guy, but he was the one who caused all of this and brought the worst in them out.
So, that leaves Celine and Damien and you, all trapped in one body as Darkiplier, seeking revenge on the kernel who then turns into Wilford warfstache. He continues killing people and believing it's all a game and they'll come back.
Edit: I also forgot to add, that the house has a curse, as well as Mark and Damien and every one else, which causes them to act so harshly. At the end the voice we hear is the detective who gets the curse too, and wants revenge on the kernel.
This also leaves the chef who goes on to be the same chef as in the date with markiplier videos.
It may not be the best explanation sorry, but I hope I cleared a bit up for you.

The most ominous thing I find after rewatching these... is the vengence-filled, anger-filled echo after the viewer dies when Selene and Damien talk. There's something wrong and the viewer can hear it... but Damien's their friend and they trust him. He's never done them wrong, how could he now?
(Edit) But the worst thing is... Colonel knew he did something wrong. He knew he did this. He knew he's done something wrong. But he can't put his finger on it, and so he runs off to find his friends... but theyre gone, so what can he do but stay the way he is.

So...this is how Darkiplier was born. I think how this happened is when Damien and Celine fused in the protagonist's body which is us, but the mysterious entity which is the one who said "it's not fair isn't it" the one who is held inside Mark followed Celine and Damien into the protagonist's body, but Celine did not know they were gonna be followed so that mysterious entity overpowered them and be the one who controls the body. and this kinda explains why Darkiplier screams and shouts in the "a Heist with Markiplier" series. Darkiplier is screaming and shouting because Celine and Damien are still trying to fight off that mysterious entity and gain control of the body.

Mark killed himself and took over the colonels body... that's why the colonel said "you call me a murderer in my own house!". When we leave to find the groundskeeper, mark attempts to seal away the souls of Celine and Damien so they don't find out the truth. He then takes over Damien's body, which is why the colonel is insane and doesn't know of anything. It also explains why Damien said "I can't believe he is walking in my body". In the end, darkiplier takes over your body, the colonel goes insane, the detective is dead, and mark is alive inside of Damien's body

So Mark killed Damien, Celine and himself. He made his and Celine's bodies dissapear and he took Damien's body so Celine and Damien couldn't get out of the void. The Colonel killed us. That's why our body didn't dissappear. Then Celine and Damien took our body and became Darkiplier. Does that mean that in that universe death doesn't really matter?
I'd argue it matters for the people without the power to come back. Theory is that we're trapped in the mirror and can't come back.

I think this is what happened:
Our body, Celene's powers and Damien's wits make up Darkiplier. But Darkiplier is also a different person than all of us. *How is he a different person if he's made of us?* He's a different person because he used all of us to make him a separate being with the same basic idea.
He was created because Celene broke Mark's heart (When She Cheated cheated on him with the colonel) and Mark wanted revenge. He planned to break them. Break every person that betrayed him. *But he had no plan?*
He then found a spell. A spell used to take over someone's body. He found it while looking through Celene's room. *After all, she does love magic, doesn't she?* He used this to make a plan. He then invited all of his former friends to play poker. He planned to take over Damien's body and kill his old body. *I mean, no one would think that mark could murder himself, right?* He succeeded. At the end, when the colonel shot us, we were trapped I the house with Damien and Celene. *After all,we died.*
Celene is in the house because while we were outside with the grounds keeper, he was in Damien's body, trying to take over Celene's too. But Celene was too powerful and her body ended up dying and getting trapped in the house.
When we died, Darkiplier was created. *Why created with our body? * Celene used our body to hold Darkiplier because our body was the only one available. Though our body died, Celene used magic to not only bring it back to working condition, but also to add: Damien's wits and Celene's powers.
But then, it showed how Darkiplier used us to become independent, a different being from us. How he used us to get out and into the real. To get out of the house. This is shown by the mirror. When we look in the mirror we see Darkiplier in our body, and when he walks away, and when our POV doesn't follow, it shows that he left us. He became a new being, leaving us to be in the house with Celene and Damien.
Then, because the colonel thought that he can't kill people after seeing us, after him shooting us, alive. *After all, people come back, right?* In other words, he's already broken (this is also why, in "Wilford MOTHERLOVING Warfstache", the detective says he's killed people and he says he didn't). Because he's broken, Darkiplier doesn't need to take care of him.
Instead, Darkiplier needs to leave our soul in the house, in the mirror, and get revenge. Mark is in Damien's body and thinks he can get away with no consequence. No. Darkiplier won't allow it.
So, the moral of the story is:
We, Celene, and Damien, are Darkiplier (Although now we are not a part of Darkiplier any more because he left us in the house). We only made up the parts of Darkiplier, now he is his own person, with his goal: get revenge on Mark.
The colonel is Wilford Warfstache, and has gone insane after watching his friends die and come back to life.
Lastly, Mark's body has no one in it because Marks in Damien's body.

The Colonel went insane after sitting with the District Attorney's corpse for ten hours and then watching it get up. He lost his mind when that happened, our Mark confirmed this in a livestream btw. And at the end when the camera looks into the mirror, we see the "birth" of the entity that is Darkiplier, a fusion almost of Celine and Damien, as well as a bit of the evil presence that's been in the house.

When I saw this ending I literally cried. Seeing the colonel going insane thinking that he didn’t kill anyone only to see the dead body’s in the other rooms, and me realizing it’s all our faults. If we had just stayed dead he would come to his senses and move on, but because we came back to life he thinks it was all a joke and he went insane because of it.

Theories and head-canon aren't the same thing; it's a head-canon if it is confirmed to be something else (such as if you are one of those people that still insist that FNAF 2 isn't a prequel), but it's just a theory if we don't known and it is reasonably possible for that to be the case.

That Damien, Darkiplier was the villain and that he was the hero. And we believed it. But we were wrong. Celine and Damien became Darkiplier.

Okay in the live stream where mark talks abt WKM, he has a theory on the broken wine bottle. Basically, Mark and the Colonel were alone in the cellar, and to prove that there was no bad blood between the two, they played russian roulette, but Mark made it so that the bullet would kill him. After reading lots of theories and debates through viewers on multiple different platforms, re-watching the videos in themselves Marks personal theories and personal interpretations and after the "Wilford 'MOTHERLOVING' Warfstache'" video, I'll give my best to say what I believe is as accurate as I can get to a confusing mess that is the amazing world Mark has made. As the Colonel stated, "Life needs a bit of madness, eh, chap?" and what I find interesting is that this also correlates towards what Damien and Markiplier (The character, not Mark himself states) for example, Marks own interpretation of it is "Life is for the living" and Damien's is "Life is ours to choose." This is one of the more interesting facts I gathered from Marks video explaining 'Who Killed Markipier' Anyways, I'd recommend backtracking, because this'll get very in depth and very confusing.
Before we begin, George the groundskeeper is the oldest person which has worked there, the Chef eventually being hired and treating him to meals, them becoming friends and the Chef letting him live close in secret. The timeline would start from the fact that the William (The colonel) and Mark grew up in the House (Which we'll get back to). After a period of time Damien became friends with them and they became a trio. Round about then Mark becomes "good friends" as the Detective describes it with Abe (The detective) from him hiring the detective for things he wanted, e.g: Investigating people. After a presumed long time knowing Celine, Mark gets married with her, further down the line she eventually leaves him and runs off with William. This had been affecting Mark a lot, since the Colonel had Mark fund his expeditions like the Safari Hunts the Detective uses for evidence.
Now, Mark went dark and cut connections with everyone, including the Detective. He hired the Butler to work for him. He had been alone for a long time, and this is where the house I referenced from earlier comes into now. The house is cursed, going back generations of families which terrible things have happened to. The entity within this house uses the emotions of the person living there the most (whether good or not). After Mark attempts suicide, it fails. He awakes in the room which we promptly speak to Damien and Celine after being 'murdered' by William. And he comes back. Being confused, he begins to study the home and all of the mysteries surrounding it.
After understanding the mansion further, he knows he can't die. So, he formulates a plan of revenge towards William after being bitter and influenced by the entity for so long after he essentially took Marks money and stole Celine from him (In Mark's eyes) He begins injuring himself in as many ways as possible, (The list going from the detective "INVESTIGATING" his body.) He then invites everyone back to his manor for a reunion, including the newly appointed Mayor, of course being Damien and his friend, the District Attorney, being you, the viewer. After everyone is drunk (Besides Mark himself) He invites William to the cellar to play a game of Russian Roulette. There's one bullet in the gun, and Mark tells him how they both have an agenda against each other, and this would be getting rid of that, from if the Colonel dies, Mark's satisfied, and if Mark dies, the Colonel is "satisfied." Mark rigs it in order for the Colonel to shoot him. William gets nervous and attempts to hide the corpse and evidence, presumably taking a small rest from being drunk and leaving Mark downstairs until he woke up and was able to continue hiding him. Of course, this doesn't work and William falls asleep for the whole night, and we find Marks body.
Now, Episode 1 happens and Mark wakes up as whenever you die in the house you awake and the fact that the entity keeps him alive, leading to how everyone then believes he's a zombie and the colonel becomes unsure of what's happened. Then Celine comes, which Mark didn't account for. He only wanted to frame William. Although, eventually the entity convinces Mark of a new plan. This is when we need to theorize. My prediction is that when you, the Detective and the Chef are interrogating George, Celine becomes possessed from the fact that she's spent years meddling with dark magic, allowing her to become vulnerable to be possessed. She then, kills Damien, making Mark take over his body and the entity forces Celine to stab herself. Both go to the place we mentioned earlier when Mark first died and are trapped there due to the entity trapping them there.
So Episode 4 plays out, and after the colonel shoots the Detective and you you wake up in the place where Damien and Celine went. They have a plan, with best intentions, and leave your spirit within the house while Damien, Celine and the entity merge to create Darkiplier. After you go back, William goes into madness not from denial which everyone believes, but because you seemingly just came back to life.

@@iDaydreamOfFlying This is one of those points which is very ambiguous, my theory won't be completely accurate, that's why we need to speculate some things like what happened while Celine and Damien were alone and where Marks body is.
@@iameli6098 Also, what happened to Celine's body. If her spirit combined with the evil spirit and Damien make up Dark, shouldn't her body still be there?
Well, if both Celine & Damien combined with the entity and the entity itself seemingly has control of the house, like bringing people back, it's safe to assume that both Celine and Damiens bodies are either in the place you go to where you die in the house, or in the room we were last in with Celine when we saw the vision of George in Episode 3.
