I can’t believe y’all never tried onion in ferments before! It’s an absolute staple for us! But I guess you’ll say the same to me when I say I’ve never tried fermenting Brussels sprouts! 😂 thank you for sharing with the collab! This is fantastic and I’m so happy you’re back!!!
🤣 with the onions only a couple of us even like onions (primarily myself - Mike and T.J.). We are always trying new things though. And I'm now pretty sure I'm gonna get just some onions fermenting. What a great addition to any meal!
We just tasted our week old fermented sprouts! Fantastic! My 8 year old, who has never had any ferment beyond sweet kombucha, loved it! It does need to ferment for another week, but he tells me that I always need to have these sitting on the counter. 🥰
I think I am in the minority here - I love brussel sprouts! I usually roast them, serve with caramelized onions and drizzle with balsamic glaze - perfection! Now I am intrigued, I would never have thought to ferment them! Great video!

I love brussel sprouts!!! And since I am learning fermenting foods for health reasons, this recipe is a definite try. My family is all about the 🔥 but not me, I'm a gringa in a family of Hispanics, and my weak taste buds show me out everytime.
That's when you make a 🔥 one for yhe fam and a mild one for you to enjoy! I definitely don't like as much heat as Mike, and some of the younger kids are more sensitive to it as well, so some jars we just don't munch on lol. Hope you make them and enjoy them! - Jeni
@@PrattFamilyHomestead I found Brussel sprouts on sale at our local market and purchased them with the plan to make this recipe this weekend. I thought 2 versions, one for me (the weakling, as my family call me) and one for them. I can't wait to see how they turn out. 😁
My Beloved does not like many vegetables outside of green salads, but one of his girls got him to enjoy green beans (his life long enemy), and another daughter got him to eat beets by pickling. I now see more veg in his future with fermentation, which feels like a duh moment but never too late, right?! Thank you!
Oooh, this sounds so good! I love Brussels. We're growing them for the first time this year - and as usual with us, it's "go big or go home" so I have a feeling the seeds I just started indoors were way too many and we can't let a plant go. So if they grow well, we'll be overrun with Brussels Sprouts and many other things. This is a great way to put some up.
