Jennifer, thank you so much for absolutely EVERYTHING you and your staff do to bless all of your subscribers. You are the most generous crafting icon I know. I’m laid up after back surgery and am so glad for these videos! Thank you Jennifer and team for coming into my home and keeping me company as I sit in a recliner .🥰
Angie Holden has a video on how to schedule your printer to print while you’re away on vacation. You have to leave plain paper in the printer so that it can print every week during this time.
I love my 2 ecotank 2800's. They use so little ink. One is fir sublimation and one is for regular printing and they're affordable for me. Thank you as always, Jennifer, for the video. See all at 6:00 tonight.
Like you, I've used almost every printer available since the 80s. Last year we got a brand new Epson ET-2800 that I use as my sublimation printer. Hubs picked up a discontinued Epson Super Tank ST-2000 at auction for about $5-$10. I use that for my regular inkjet printer. I LOVE my tank Epsons!!! Tonight, he brought home a used Epson ET-2750 for himself. Got it at auction for $1.00!!! NO MORE CARTRIDGES!! Woo Hoo!!! I've always preferred the quality of the Epsons. I used an Epson Workforce years ago to make and sell laminated bookmarks. Now I can make them even better!!!
Thank you Jennifer for sharing this video, it has really helped me understand and has given me more confidence in what I'm trying to accomplish. Although I haven't got all of my stuff together, I'm more confident that I can do what I've always wanted to do. Thanks to the person that asked about the pre-printing of designs. I was wondering about this very subject, and you have answered it for me. Thank you again and may God bless you and your family! Happy Easter to you all!
I’m so happy I listened to you today! My mind has been turning over and over on what type of printer I actually need! Today, you answered all my questions plus many more that I didn’t even think about. So, I put you on pause and purchased an Epson 3850 from Amazon! I am so relieved. Thank You! I will be watching your channel for my own personal learning resources. 🎉
This was such a great detailed video, Thanks! I'm so horrible with technology and I have taken notes on everything. I really enjoyed learning how to do this. I am visual however, I have to now take notes because I'm forgetting more than I want to admit😁
I have the 3000 series for sublimation, it works great! I’ve not had a problem yet. I also have a 4000 series for regular inkjet printing. Eco tanks are awesome.
Paper jams happen from the ream due to excess paper dust. Fanning it clears the dust. When it goes through the printer it gets on the paper feeder rollers. Wipe it off with rubbing alcohol gets the dust off the roller and you see less jams.
Do you use the printer often? Many people complain of ink being clogged up if not used often. And it is very difficult to unclog. Jennifer has a vlog showing how confusing it is to do so. I would get this if it wasn’t for the clogging!
Yes, there is an HP Laser Toner that can print with Sublimation toner from Ghost out of Germany. You just remove your cartridges when you want to do regular printing and vice versa. For sublimation, you just print on regular paper which is a HUGE savings for sublimation businesses. I am really wanting to go this route vs. buying two separate printers. If I go this route, I will go with the Epson printers you have shown here.
Jennifer, I love how you explain how to do a project and take the time to understand what a beginner would encounter when starting a project. Thank you.
OMG I am so glad that I found your channel. I'm ready to take the plunge with sublimation printing. I really want to try it with t-shirts but am a bit unsure because of the fabric type that you can only print on. A lot of the products that I want to print on are cotton and dark. I'm going to continue to check your channel to check out your tips and tricks. Thanks for making it easy for newbies like me. Take care!
Thanks for a great review video of the ET. I have been looking at various ET printers for the last few weeks and was not able to decide between the 2850, 3850, 4850 and 8500. And this video really helps. The last time I brought a printer was about 3 years ago for a Brother Color Laser. It was fine printing regular documents. Not so good printing photos. Previously I had a few Epson R200 that print great photos but since I have not use it for years, the heads get clogged up and it refuse to turn on properly without Epson resetting it. The review of the top printing is spot on. With the top loading, it rarely get any paper jam especially using specialty papers and which is what I wanted for this new printer. Especially if trying to print I know the 2850 is top loading and thought the 3850 was too until you show the paper tray. Now I need to see if the 3850 would work for my needs. Thanks.
So many models to choose. I have a Canon ink tank and love it. If I get into sublimation, I'll have to start the shopping, comparing, pricing. After Christmas sales would be a great time.
I've been researching what printer to buy for sticker printing. Hours of video got me no closer to choosing one. So, I'm taking your word for it; just picked up an Epson ET-2850. I hope you're right!
Thank you so much for all of your great information. I have had the ET 3160 for 2 years and LOVE it. However, I realized after watching this video that my drivers were either not installed or were out of date.... NOW I can set print quality and print Media whereas before those options did not show up. Thank you SO much! I just bought the Cricut Maker so now I will be printing and cutting up a storm...this was just in time !
@@lindabradford9591sublimation isn’t always possible and you’re limited to what sublimation blanks are available. And I’m not sure I like the feeling of sublimation T-shirt’s compared to 100% cotton ones. Vinyl is still what I will mostly use except for mugs and tumblers.
Hi, first thanks for taking the time to make this video. I’m ready to start sublimating and looking at the 2850 bs 2760. Any suggestions as to which you would prefer?
You are so fun to listen to!! I have a heat press that is very very dusty... Working too much had caused me to neglect my love for crafting and anything art. I will be lured back by watching you. thank you!
Take care....work sometimes can suck the creative juice dry and worse is when it doesn't need too. I worry about the medical people who are over worked and given little care about their human needs and care. We all need to have time for ourselves and our personal needs and personalities that refresh us and keeps us well mentally and physically both. Take care for sure.
This video really helped me out because last night I was able to setup my ET2850 in less than 20 minutes all by myself. I am going to use it just as an inkjet printer because I already have a sawgrass 500. Thanks again for all these great videos and fun projects. I look forward to this every year. 🎄😊
Just bought the eco tank 2803 . It wasn’t that easy for us since we are totally new to this but we managed It. lol thanks you for This helpful video. My husband has always been one that believes in shutting everything off,so I’m glad you spoke on this. Good to know.
First time seeing your videos. You do a great job explaining things. Great job!!! I did not know about sublimation printing until just now. I’m pretty excited. lol.
Hi Jennifer, I’m from Holland and totaly new in the world of crafting. I have a maker 3 and want to buy a other printer. When I buy a Epson with sublimation ink can I print cards and stickers? Of do you recommend something else?
Hi Jennifer, i am looking into purchasing a new printer mainly for sticker making, print and cut features. Is there a difference with printer with a rear paper feeder or paper tray as the model i am looking at seems to only have paper tray. Thanks.
When it comes to sticker making and print and cut features, the type of paper feeder can make a difference in your experience. Here are some insights: Paper Tray Loading: The HP Envy photo 7155 mentioned in the context uses a paper tray where you need to load the sticker paper face down. This is typical for many printers with paper trays. The context suggests testing the loading direction and making a note for consistency. Rear Paper Feeder: Generally, rear feeders can be more convenient for thicker materials like sticker paper because they often allow for a straighter paper path, reducing the risk of jams and ensuring better print quality. Recommendation: If the model you are looking at only has a paper tray, it should still work fine for sticker making, as demonstrated with the HP Envy photo 7155. Just ensure you follow the loading instructions and test it out to get the best results.
Thanks for all the TH-cam videos and online classes! I have made a lot of your projects and love them. Now I am in search for a printer that prints on card stock. Which Model of the EcoTank do you recommend for 110# card stock please? Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Hi Jennifer, thank you so much for this video with all the detailed information and examples you provided. You have no idea how frustrated I was with my Epson printer for not having the correct settings, and all along it was me that never installed its driver 😬😅
Hi, this is a really great video, you are cool and you are doing cool stuff and you know a lot about printers, I´ve seen several of your videos now. I am about to buy a Ecotank and some sublimation ink, I will go with the cheaper 2000 series ecotank I think. But something else that I just got to get interested in is your studio, it seem to have a cool setup with buttons to switch cameras and stuff like that, I would want to know more about that camera setup you have right there.. 😄 Thanks for the video.
I love seeing what you do and make!! Thank you. I would like to know your opinion on the Sawgrass printers?? I have my eyes on one that i really want to purchase. If you could please share your opinion, i would appreciate it very much
I'm not sure if you are referring to an inkjet or sublimation printer. It would be great for you to ask in more detail in either my Cricut Crafters and Makers FB Group, facebook.com/groups/cricutcraftersandmakers/ or Sublimation FB Group, facebook.com/groups/sublimationmadeeasy ❤️
Excellent instruction. Please: I need guidance on which EcoTank model to purchase to be able to print on cardstock for papercrafts. I'd be using it for Cricut print and cut projects where I want thicker paper than my current printer can handle. Thank you for any advice.
I have an Epson ECOTANK 2803 for sublimation, and I love it. I never turn it off, and I print every week. A friend turned hers off and didn’t print every week, and when she got ready to print some transfer, she discovered that it was clogged. So I print for her. She has tried several things to get it going again, but nothing worked.
I have new Epson 8500. How do i print on rice paper for decoupage? Do i need to tape onto copy paper 1st? Or will it run through printer on its own? Do i use front or back paper feed? Can't find answer on Epson site. Thank you so much!!
It's generally best to tape the rice paper onto a sheet of copy paper first before feeding it through the printer; use the front paper feed and make sure the printed side of the rice paper faces up. While some printers might handle thin rice paper alone, taping it to a sturdier backing ensures smoother printing and prevents potential jams.
Yes, you can adjust the size of an image before printing it with the Epson EcoTank printer. Here are the steps to do so: Open the Image in Google Docs: Click on the insert menu at the top and select image, then select upload from computer. Select the sublimation design you want to use and click open. Resize the Image: Click on the image and select image options at the top of the canvas. Go to size and rotation. Keep the lock aspect ratio box checked to maintain the design's proportions. Change the width field to the desired size. The height will adjust proportionately. Print the Image: Go to the file menu and choose print. Select your printer under destination, then click the arrow beside more settings and choose print using system dialog. Make sure your sublimation printer is selected under printer. Check that the paper size matches your sublimation paper. Under layout, click flip horizontally to mirror your image if needed. Choose the print settings or media quality area to change your media type to an option similar to photo matte paper and change your print quality to best quality. Click print on your computer.
First off i want to thank you and give your flowers 💐 for all your wonderful videos, they are extremely helpful!!!! ❤️ I would also like to ask for some advice please.... I have brand new epson ecotank et-2800 and a et-4800, i want to keep one printer for regular inkjet 522 ink and one converting to sublimation hiipoo ink. Which printer do you suggest i should convert for sublimation?
Hi, Thank you so much for your videos! ❤ I'd like to know if EPSON L300 can also be used for sublimation? If yes, is it possible to change the Ecotank from regular Ink to a sublimation Ink?
Yes. You can search for videos on how people have changed an EcoTank to sublimation. We have not done that. Remember that it does void the warranty when you convert an EcoTank printer to sublimation.
Do the Epson 2000 & 3000 printers print on envelopes? Like A2 or #10 envelopes? I like to do envelopes, especially at the holidays. I also definitely want to print on card stock. Glad I found this video since I’m looking for a printer right now.
You should be able to select the paper Size setting that matches the envelope you loaded in the printer. You would want to do this only if it is an inkjet printer however. epson.com/faq/SPT_C11CG20202~faq-00007f4-st3000?faq_cat=faq-topFaqs
Thank you for this! Any of these printers support paper roll printing, for banner/endless printing? Or do you know of any inkjet printers suitable for sublimation printing, that can do 2-3 meter long prints?
I always run into the issues with the Eco Tanks , Lines through my images, yes I clean heads and etc. Another issue is if you don't run these at least once a week then the ink will dry up and then you may as well throw the unit away.
Good Morning! Thank you for being you and for always being solo helpful and sharing your knowledge. What is the advantage to having the printer that has 6 colors versus 4?
Jennifer, thank you for this video. I have my et 2760 printer set up for sublimation. But If you can, please tell me your overall favorite of these printers for Crafting. Especially printing on 100lb card stock. I am thinking to get the et 3830 but is there a better choice?
if you get a epson printer that uses the 4 cartridges instead of a ecotank you can buy a refillable cartridge and use sublimation ink saving money in comparison to buying a ecotank you can also use regular dye ink if thats what you prefer
Hi Jennifer, what epson tank printer can you reccommend for upto 500 gsm or thick papers? I hope you could help me find and choose the best printer for my soon to be business.
I do not know of any. This is what I found on a google search: The maximum weight is 300 g/m2 using genuine Epson media only. Some products support a maximum of up to 255 g/m2 using genuine Epson media only (e.g. R800). www.epson.eu/en_EU/faq/KA-01505/contents?loc=en-us#:~:text=The%20maximum%20weight%20is%20300,media%20only%20(e.g.%20R800).
Hi Jennifer, This is a great video thank You for making it. I want to know if you have a video for unclogging and ecotank 2800. Also while setting up another brand new Epson 2800 I printed a test page and it was blank. I tried everything to get some ink. Do you think it is clogged?
What about print quality? In corps of there is a difference in the models and how pretty the colors look. Thank you for ask you do. I have learned so much from you.
Hi Jennifer, I’ve been searching your content but not finding if you have any recommendation for one of these printers for tackling printing on cardstock. I’m particularly trying to find out which one best prints on up to 110lb cardstock such as the Recollections brand. I’ve been leaning towards the ET 8500 but really wondering do I need that much printer and if another model will do the same job with up to 110lb.
Hi there, Many-many thanks for your super detailed video! I have a question for you: I've purchased a Brother DCPT425W printer and unfortunately paper feeding is a mess. It fails 3 times of out of 10 (even with a matte sticker paper). Can you please let me know if the EPSON-s are better at this? I'm using printable vinyl sticker paper most of the time. Thank you!
@@JenniferMaker Thanks you for your prompt reply! I am using a "regular" sticker paper - Oracal printable vinyl. Tested 3 or 4 types though, they are pretty slim. What is your experience with the Epsons?
Hi, I plan on creating sublimation mugs soon and eventually going into shirts. I am planning to get an Epson 8500 Series. can you recommend a good mug heat press, or should I just use an oven? Can the Cricut cutter also cut the sublimation paper into the specific design printed on it?
Yes it can! You can use either one. It depends on what all you may want to do in the decision that you make. Here is the affiliate link to our favorite finds. www.amazon.com/shop/influencer-c673d212
Thank you for this video! I am kind of interested in trying sublimation but everyone who mentions converting an EcoTank (that I've heard, anyway) talks about how you need to be sure to buy a "converter kit". That sounded intimidating to me. Not the idea of converting, necessarily, but that apparently it was a specialized enough process to require a "kit". Why on earth didn't those other people just say that you just need to buy a new printer and fill it with sublimation ink instead of the ink it comes with? I was picturing having to do minor surgery and installing something technical inside, lol.
You may need a kit if you used regular ink in your printer first and need to flush the lines, but you don't need that in order to fill the tanks with sublimation ink. 😊🌻
Jennifer I so trust you! I have been vassilating on replacing my HP4750. Does the Epson have a good quality print? I do not want to do sublimation - I only want good quality prints for my cricut as I also use my printer for home use. My HP will handle all size papers np - will this Epson? I would like to transition away from the ink cartridges to the tanks. ty
Its really all a personal preference! Both are great! You can try searching and/or asking in my Sublimation FB Group, facebook.com/groups/sublimationmadeeasy

You are so welcome!
Thanks so much for taking the time to do this.I LOVE the scissors you are using. Please give info on them.
Thank you for the video. Does this printer handle card stock thickness?
Yes 😊🌻
Hello from Waterford, Michigan ❤
I love seeing what you do and make!! Thank you. I would like to know your opinion on the Sawgrass printers?? I have my eyes on one that i really want to purchase. If you could please share your opinion, i would appreciate it very much
Thanks you so much, is there any difference in quality printing?
I would like to use on clear acrylic which one should I buy
I'm not sure if you are referring to an inkjet or sublimation printer. It would be great for you to ask in more detail in either my Cricut Crafters and Makers FB Group, facebook.com/groups/cricutcraftersandmakers/ or Sublimation FB Group, facebook.com/groups/sublimationmadeeasy ❤️
So helpful! I'm trying to decide if i should buy one. Thank you!
Excellent instruction. Please: I need guidance on which EcoTank model to purchase to be able to print on cardstock for papercrafts. I'd be using it for Cricut print and cut projects where I want thicker paper than my current printer can handle. Thank you for any advice.
Ecotanks are good with printing up to 68# cardstock 🥰
Thank you-@@JenniferMaker
Couldn't make live today...thanks for replay option!
Printers should be used in color 1o 2 times a week or they might clog. She should look for cleaning kits if she hasn't already..
Would that happen if I use the regular ink it comes with 😭
I have new Epson 8500.
Thank you SO MUCH! This video was so helpful to me!@@JenniferMaker
Hello from Houston TX
Me too
With this printer can you play around with the image for example if you have a large image can you reduce its size before you print it
Yes, you can adjust the size of an image before printing it with the Epson EcoTank printer. Here are the steps to do so:
Open the Image in Google Docs:
Click on the insert menu at the top and select image, then select upload from computer.
Select the sublimation design you want to use and click open.
Resize the Image:
Click on the image and select image options at the top of the canvas.
Go to size and rotation.
Keep the lock aspect ratio box checked to maintain the design's proportions.
Change the width field to the desired size. The height will adjust proportionately.
Print the Image:
Go to the file menu and choose print.
I would also like to ask for some advice please....
I have brand new epson ecotank et-2800 and a et-4800, i want to keep one printer for regular inkjet 522 ink and one converting to sublimation hiipoo ink. Which printer do you suggest i should convert for sublimation?
the 4800 is slightly larger and has a faster print speed but for the most part they are the same so really either one will do!🥰
Hi, Thank you so much for your videos!
The 2850:will not print 110lb card stock. I just found that out today.
Hello everyone. Jennifer, I love the videos.
Earned a sub; watched for several months; and always excellent quality information.
Thank you so much !❤️
i just recently bought the epson ecotank 2800
How is it going hun?
Looks like the 3850 also has a front papertray. And thanks for the review. I was specifically looking for the front/back paper tray information
Glad I could help
Thank you for this! Any of these printers support paper roll printing, for banner/endless printing? Or do you know of any inkjet printers suitable for sublimation printing, that can do 2-3 meter long prints?
I am not sure.
I’m using this for printing photos to transfer on to canvases and or wood ,etc.
❤️
I came across this video at the perfect time. I am searching for a printer, great information thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Jennifer, thank you for this video. I have my et 2760 printer set up for sublimation. But If you can, please tell me your overall favorite of these printers for Crafting. Especially printing on 100lb card stock. I am thinking to get the et 3830 but is there a better choice?
That's a good choice.
Do I need to convert to sublimation? Or can the factory epson just be used for regular inkjet heat transfer paper?
Yes! You do not have to convert it to sublimation. They are fantastic inkjet printers.
Thank you so much for all you and your team do Happy New Year 2024!
I just love my Epson eco tank. I have had it for a year. I spend less for ink and it last longer.
I agree!
Learnt so much Jennifer, thank you ☺
if you get a epson printer that uses the 4 cartridges instead of a ecotank you can buy a refillable cartridge and use sublimation ink saving money in comparison to buying a ecotank you can also use regular dye ink if thats what you prefer
😊
Jennifer I love your videos. Not sure if you can help, but can I use DTF ink instead of sublimation ink and have a DTF printer?
Here is a helpful tutorial. jennifermaker.com/dtf-t-shirt-printing-on-cotton-sublimation/
I'm cracking up about Greg getting paper🤣🤣😂
Thank you for your time and lending of your genius!
It's my pleasure!
I do not have a video for that. You can ask in the group. facebook.com/groups/sublimationmadeeasy
I have not tested printers for that. The Epson EcoTank can print on card stock and other media up to 1.3 mm thick.
Always enjoy your merry mingle. Great projects.
Hi there,
Many-many thanks for your super detailed video!
Thank you!
It could be the thickness of the paper that is the problem and not the printer.
Can you only make it on a cricut joy plus?
is there a certain number of Hiippo sublimation ink that should be used for the epson 3830?
Take a look at the website to match the correct ink to your printer. www.hiipoo.com/collections/all
I cover my printers with a large plastic after each use to prevent dusts from clogging it!
Good idea!
That's too bad they misled you. I have the ecotank 2800 and I just put the sublimation ink instead of the regular. Yes it's very simple.
You may need a kit if you used regular ink in your printer first and need to flush the lines, but you don't need that in order to fill the tanks with sublimation ink. 😊🌻
These will make some fun gift ideas
Jennifer I so trust you! I have been vassilating on replacing my HP4750. Does the Epson have a good quality print? I do not want to do sublimation - I only want good quality prints for my cricut as I also use my printer for home use. My HP will handle all size papers np - will this Epson? I would like to transition away from the ink cartridges to the tanks. ty
Yes it does!🥰
Really would love to know your opinion on which I should buy between the epson eco tank or the brother sp-1?
Its really all a personal preference! Both are great! You can try searching and/or asking in my Sublimation FB Group, facebook.com/groups/sublimationmadeeasy
Why do you most often choose to use the Eco Tank 3850 instead of the F170? I am concerned about the warranty issue.
More people use the Ecotanks🥰
