I’m laid up after back surgery and am so glad for these videos! Thank you Jennifer and team for coming into my home and keeping me company as I sit in a recliner .🥰
I love my 2 ecotank 2800's. They use so little ink. One is fir sublimation and one is for regular printing and they're affordable for me. Thank you as always, Jennifer, for the video. See all at 6:00 tonight.
Thank you Jennifer for sharing this video, it has really helped me understand and has given me more confidence in what I'm trying to accomplish. Although I haven't got all of my stuff together, I'm more confident that I can do what I've always wanted to do. Thanks to the person that asked about the pre-printing of designs. I was wondering about this very subject, and you have answered it for me. Thank you again and may God bless you and your family! Happy Easter to you all!
I have the 3000 series for sublimation, it works great! I’ve not had a problem yet. I also have a 4000 series for regular inkjet printing. Eco tanks are awesome.
Jennifer, I love how you explain how to do a project and take the time to understand what a beginner would encounter when starting a project. Thank you.
Paper jams happen from the ream due to excess paper dust. Fanning it clears the dust. When it goes through the printer it gets on the paper feeder rollers. Wipe it off with rubbing alcohol gets the dust off the roller and you see less jams.
Do you use the printer often? Many people complain of ink being clogged up if not used often. And it is very difficult to unclog. Jennifer has a vlog showing how confusing it is to do so. I would get this if it wasn’t for the clogging!
I’m so happy I listened to you today! My mind has been turning over and over on what type of printer I actually need! Today, you answered all my questions plus many more that I didn’t even think about. So, I put you on pause and purchased an Epson 3850 from Amazon! I am so relieved. Thank You! I will be watching your channel for my own personal learning resources. 🎉
Like you, I've used almost every printer available since the 80s. Last year we got a brand new Epson ET-2800 that I use as my sublimation printer. Hubs picked up a discontinued Epson Super Tank ST-2000 at auction for about $5-$10. I use that for my regular inkjet printer. I LOVE my tank Epsons!!! Tonight, he brought home a used Epson ET-2750 for himself. Got it at auction for $1.00!!! NO MORE CARTRIDGES!! Woo Hoo!!! I've always preferred the quality of the Epsons. I used an Epson Workforce years ago to make and sell laminated bookmarks. Now I can make them even better!!!
Thanks for a great review video of the ET. I have been looking at various ET printers for the last few weeks and was not able to decide between the 2850, 3850, 4850 and 8500. And this video really helps. The last time I brought a printer was about 3 years ago for a Brother Color Laser. It was fine printing regular documents. Not so good printing photos. Previously I had a few Epson R200 that print great photos but since I have not use it for years, the heads get clogged up and it refuse to turn on properly without Epson resetting it. The review of the top printing is spot on. With the top loading, it rarely get any paper jam especially using specialty papers and which is what I wanted for this new printer. Especially if trying to print I know the 2850 is top loading and thought the 3850 was too until you show the paper tray. Now I need to see if the 3850 would work for my needs. Thanks.
OMG I am so glad that I found your channel. I'm ready to take the plunge with sublimation printing. I really want to try it with t-shirts but am a bit unsure because of the fabric type that you can only print on. A lot of the products that I want to print on are cotton and dark. I'm going to continue to check your channel to check out your tips and tricks. Thanks for making it easy for newbies like me. Take care!
So many models to choose. I have a Canon ink tank and love it. If I get into sublimation, I'll have to start the shopping, comparing, pricing. After Christmas sales would be a great time.
Thank you so much for all of your great information. I have had the ET 3160 for 2 years and LOVE it. However, I realized after watching this video that my drivers were either not installed or were out of date.... NOW I can set print quality and print Media whereas before those options did not show up. Thank you SO much! I just bought the Cricut Maker so now I will be printing and cutting up a storm...this was just in time !
Just bought the eco tank 2803 . It wasn’t that easy for us since we are totally new to this but we managed It. lol thanks you for This helpful video. My husband has always been one that believes in shutting everything off,so I’m glad you spoke on this. Good to know.
First time seeing your videos. You do a great job explaining things. Great job!!! I did not know about sublimation printing until just now. I’m pretty excited. lol.
Hi Jennifer, I’m from Holland and totaly new in the world of crafting. I have a maker 3 and want to buy a other printer. When I buy a Epson with sublimation ink can I print cards and stickers? Of do you recommend something else?
This video really helped me out because last night I was able to setup my ET2850 in less than 20 minutes all by myself. I am going to use it just as an inkjet printer because I already have a sawgrass 500. Thanks again for all these great videos and fun projects. I look forward to this every year. 🎄😊
Hi, this is a really great video, you are cool and you are doing cool stuff and you know a lot about printers, I´ve seen several of your videos now. I am about to buy a Ecotank and some sublimation ink, I will go with the cheaper 2000 series ecotank I think. But something else that I just got to get interested in is your studio, it seem to have a cool setup with buttons to switch cameras and stuff like that, I would want to know more about that camera setup you have right there.. 😄 Thanks for the video.
You are so fun to listen to!! I have a heat press that is very very dusty... Working too much had caused me to neglect my love for crafting and anything art. I will be lured back by watching you. thank you!

@@lindabradford9591sublimation isn’t always possible and you’re limited to what sublimation blanks are available. And I’m not sure I like the feeling of sublimation T-shirt’s compared to 100% cotton ones. Vinyl is still what I will mostly use except for mugs and tumblers.

I love seeing what you do and make!! Thank you. I would like to know your opinion on the Sawgrass printers?? I have my eyes on one that i really want to purchase. If you could please share your opinion, i would appreciate it very much
I always run into the issues with the Eco Tanks , Lines through my images, yes I clean heads and etc. Another issue is if you don't run these at least once a week then the ink will dry up and then you may as well throw the unit away.
if you get a epson printer that uses the 4 cartridges instead of a ecotank you can buy a refillable cartridge and use sublimation ink saving money in comparison to buying a ecotank you can also use regular dye ink if thats what you prefer
Oh Jennifer the more I look at videos now the more confused I am getting. I make earrings with sayings on them and I want to start back putting pictures on them using a product called Kraft Tex. Because my sayings of which I have more than 100, I have used an Epson monochromatic printer, so now it looks as if I will need two printers. What I want to know is can the Epson 2000 and 3000 print on Kraft Tex. Kraft Tex is a tough paper that is washable, sewable, paintable and can also go through the embossing and die cutting process very successfully. Thank you for the informative video.
That is not something that I have tested. Doing a google search I see that you can use it with ink jet printers. There are lot of tutorials out there to help you research that.
First off i want to thank you and give your flowers 💐 for all your wonderful videos, they are extremely helpful!!!! ❤️ I would also like to ask for some advice please.... I have brand new epson ecotank et-2800 and a et-4800, i want to keep one printer for regular inkjet 522 ink and one converting to sublimation hiipoo ink. Which printer do you suggest i should convert for sublimation?
Do the Epson 2000 & 3000 printers print on envelopes? Like A2 or #10 envelopes? I like to do envelopes, especially at the holidays. I also definitely want to print on card stock. Glad I found this video since I’m looking for a printer right now.
You should be able to select the paper Size setting that matches the envelope you loaded in the printer. You would want to do this only if it is an inkjet printer however. epson.com/faq/SPT_C11CG20202~faq-00007f4-st3000?faq_cat=faq-topFaqs
What about print quality? In corps of there is a difference in the models and how pretty the colors look. Thank you for ask you do. I have learned so much from you.
Thank you for this video! I am kind of interested in trying sublimation but everyone who mentions converting an EcoTank (that I've heard, anyway) talks about how you need to be sure to buy a "converter kit". That sounded intimidating to me. Not the idea of converting, necessarily, but that apparently it was a specialized enough process to require a "kit". Why on earth didn't those other people just say that you just need to buy a new printer and fill it with sublimation ink instead of the ink it comes with? I was picturing having to do minor surgery and installing something technical inside, lol.
You may need a kit if you used regular ink in your printer first and need to flush the lines, but you don't need that in order to fill the tanks with sublimation ink. 😊🌻
Not all printers have user replaceable maintenance tanks. In fact, not even all Epson printers have them. The cheaper models with no LCD screen don't have them. You can either throw the printer away, take it to a service center and pay for it to be replaced or try to replace/clean it yourself which also involves buying a key to reset its counter. Also, 100% of the ink on a clean cycle will go to that tank, no paper is involved. I've probably made 10 clean cycles on my printer since I bought it and only used around 20% of the maintenance box capacity. Every time you turn on the printer it will also use a bit of ink to clean the nozzles. Even if you don't print a single sheet of paper, you will see that your ink levels will go down just by turning the printer on and off (harder to see on an ecotank, of course)
I have new Epson 8500. How do i print on rice paper for decoupage? Do i need to tape onto copy paper 1st? Or will it run through printer on its own? Do i use front or back paper feed? Can't find answer on Epson site. Thank you so much!!
It's generally best to tape the rice paper onto a sheet of copy paper first before feeding it through the printer; use the front paper feed and make sure the printed side of the rice paper faces up. While some printers might handle thin rice paper alone, taping it to a sturdier backing ensures smoother printing and prevents potential jams.
Hi Jennifer I am 69 and live in Australia, i am very interested in sublimation printing and transferring logos onto cups and plates etc, i have purchased a heat pres that can transfer onto plates and cups. I have watched some of your videos and as a result i have also purchased from Amazon an Epsom ET 4800, some sublimation sheets and ink. So getting ready to go. I was very interested in your stain glass sheets. My wife would love for me to make May Gibbs art work onto glass, if you could help me develop that idea, would be great. Thank you.
Sounds like you are just moving right along, yay! Take a look at my blog post tutorial on the stained glass for more detailed information, jennifermaker.com/sublimating-on-glass/ ❤️
Good Morning! Thank you for being you and for always being solo helpful and sharing your knowledge. What is the advantage to having the printer that has 6 colors versus 4?
What is the best EcoTank for beginners but still print good. Like what is the difference in prints from the 4760 to the 2803 to the 4850? I'm trying to purchase one based off of your videos. I'm just curious on what the actual difference is with color/printing/etc for Sublimation between the three
I missed the live so I’m not sure if this has been asked before……how thick a card stock can you use in the paper tray for continuous printing without it jamming. I typically use an 80lb card stock and in my current printer, I have to hand feed it sheet by sheet.
Looking at a new printer. Need the fax and also a memory card slot. The 4850 has fax but no memory card slot. My old Xp 850 did it all. No longer can find
Thanks for the comprehensive video! So I’m a bit picky about the stickers I sell, and have never really been happy with the quality from my (6 year old) HP photo envy…. The little dots/graininess/speckles esp with solid colored backgrounds (which is I think normal for most average home office inkjets is mostly only visible to most people when it’s really close up but to luck me, not so much lol) is very visible to me and it annoys the heck out of me . If the 8500 (I don’t need the large format) makes them less visible and you can get nice clear solid color backgrounds, then it would be worth the extra money to me. But it’s double the price, so I also don’t want to waste money if its identical to the 4000 series in this respect? Since most people aren’t OCD ninny’s, I think you’re probably right it doesn’t matter for most poeple. But would so appreciate any insights from anyone that has used both Do you have a link to your comparison video on the 8550? I can’t seem to find it anywhere.
@@JenniferMaker thank you! ok is that not a video you’ve already made though? You mentioned it in the video but I couldn’t find it anywhere on your video lists 🤷🏻♀️
Hi, Thank you so much for your videos! ❤ I'd like to know if EPSON L300 can also be used for sublimation? If yes, is it possible to change the Ecotank from regular Ink to a sublimation Ink?
Yes. You can search for videos on how people have changed an EcoTank to sublimation. We have not done that. Remember that it does void the warranty when you convert an EcoTank printer to sublimation.
What printer of eco tank have a pigment ink? And what is good for printing photo or have a good vibrant quality printing ? Is it dye ink or pigment ink? Is eco tank have pigment ink on it ? Or the ink that comes with it is dye ink? Hope you can answer me for this one because im still confused on what epson should I get.
Epson EcoTank printers typically come with dye-based inks. However, there are models and options available that can use pigment inks. It's important to check the specifications of the specific model you're interested in. If you are looking for a specific type of ink printer to convert to sublimation, it would be best to check the specifications of the particular model you are interested in. This should help you make a more informed decision based on your printing needs. Here is a tutorial for further help. jennifermaker.com/what-epson-printer-for-sublimation/
I also love my EcoTank as an inkjet printer. But I love it because it's cheap, not because it's a great printer. I have a 15 year old canon printer (also so so cheap) that is beyond superior in terms of print quality. It's so much more crisp and vibrant than the EcoTank. When I do any sort of photo printing, I use the Canon. I never would have realized how inferior the EcoTank was in terms of quality if I didn't already own the Canon. That being said...of course...I basically always use the EcoTank. I'm usually printing hundreds of pages where quality doesn't matter that much. It's a perfectly fine, perfectly passable printer for everyday use. I just want to put it out there that if high quality is what you're after in terms of an inkjet printer, I would look elsewhere. It's also painfully slow. Not because it prints slowly, but because it sometimes takes over a minute in between pages to spool.
Excellent instruction. Please: I need guidance on which EcoTank model to purchase to be able to print on cardstock for papercrafts. I'd be using it for Cricut print and cut projects where I want thicker paper than my current printer can handle. Thank you for any advice.
Jennifer I so trust you! I have been vassilating on replacing my HP4750. Does the Epson have a good quality print? I do not want to do sublimation - I only want good quality prints for my cricut as I also use my printer for home use. My HP will handle all size papers np - will this Epson? I would like to transition away from the ink cartridges to the tanks. ty
I'm not sure if you are referring to an inkjet or sublimation printer. It would be great for you to ask in more detail in either my Cricut Crafters and Makers FB Group, facebook.com/groups/cricutcraftersandmakers/ or Sublimation FB Group, facebook.com/groups/sublimationmadeeasy ❤️
Does anyone know how the Epson fairs against other brands like a Canon printer? I've been told Canon prints higher quality images with colour that is true to what you see on screen. I'm looking for affordable but also don't mind spending a little more on a machine that prints in vivid, bright colour that prints colour as they look in design space. Thanks for this video and offering more info to help us decide on a good printer!
Is there much difference in quality of printing of the 2000 vs 3000 series? Both are lower cost but considering purchasing for a sublimation printer and the 2000's are cheaper. I don't want to sacrifice quality over a $100, but want to save $100 if quality is the same. Suggestions?
Jennifer, thank you for this video. I have my et 2760 printer set up for sublimation. But If you can, please tell me your overall favorite of these printers for Crafting. Especially printing on 100lb card stock. I am thinking to get the et 3830 but is there a better choice?

That is not something that I have tested. Doing a google search I see that you can use it with ink jet printers. There are lot of tutorials out there to help you research that.
Hello from Waterford, Michigan ❤
First off i want to thank you and give your flowers 💐 for all your wonderful videos, they are extremely helpful!!!! ❤️
I would also like to ask for some advice please....
I have brand new epson ecotank et-2800 and a et-4800, i want to keep one printer for regular inkjet 522 ink and one converting to sublimation hiipoo ink. Which printer do you suggest i should convert for sublimation?
the 4800 is slightly larger and has a faster print speed but for the most part they are the same so really either one will do!🥰
Do the Epson 2000 & 3000 printers print on envelopes? Like A2 or #10 envelopes? I like to do envelopes, especially at the holidays. I also definitely want to print on card stock. Glad I found this video since I’m looking for a printer right now.
You should be able to select the paper Size setting that matches the envelope you loaded in the printer. You would want to do this only if it is an inkjet printer however. epson.com/faq/SPT_C11CG20202~faq-00007f4-st3000?faq_cat=faq-topFaqs
The 2850:will not print 110lb card stock. I just found that out today.
What about print quality? In corps of there is a difference in the models and how pretty the colors look. Thank you for ask you do. I have learned so much from you.
I cover my printers with a large plastic after each use to prevent dusts from clogging it!
Good idea!
Hello everyone. Jennifer, I love the videos.
I just love my Epson eco tank. I have had it for a year. I spend less for ink and it last longer.
I agree!
That's too bad they misled you. I have the ecotank 2800 and I just put the sublimation ink instead of the regular. Yes it's very simple.
You may need a kit if you used regular ink in your printer first and need to flush the lines, but you don't need that in order to fill the tanks with sublimation ink. 😊🌻
Looks like the 3850 also has a front papertray. And thanks for the review. I was specifically looking for the front/back paper tray information
Glad I could help
Why do you most often choose to use the Eco Tank 3850 instead of the F170? I am concerned about the warranty issue.
More people use the Ecotanks🥰
I see it! I was looking for yellow
Thank you for that info! ❤️
i just recently bought the epson ecotank 2800
How is it going hun?
I have new Epson 8500. How do i print on rice paper for decoupage? Do i need to tape onto copy paper 1st? Or will it run through printer on its own? Do i use front or back paper feed? Can't find answer on Epson site. Thank you so much!!
It's generally best to tape the rice paper onto a sheet of copy paper first before feeding it through the printer; use the front paper feed and make sure the printed side of the rice paper faces up. While some printers might handle thin rice paper alone, taping it to a sturdier backing ensures smoother printing and prevents potential jams.
Thank you SO MUCH! This video was so helpful to me!@@JenniferMaker
Thank you so much for all you and your team do Happy New Year 2024!
Hi Jennifer
I am 69 and live in Australia, i am very interested in sublimation printing and transferring logos onto cups and plates etc, i have purchased a heat pres that can transfer onto plates and cups.
I am researching the Epson Eco Tanks and it does say that the ET-3830 does have a front loading paper tray.
Good to know!
These will make some fun gift ideas
Good Morning! Thank you for being you and for always being solo helpful and sharing your knowledge. What is the advantage to having the printer that has 6 colors versus 4?
FYI the ET-4810 is also rear paper loading.
Thanks!
Learnt so much Jennifer, thank you ☺
Hello from Houston TX
Me too
What is the best EcoTank for beginners but still print good. Like what is the difference in prints from the 4760 to the 2803 to the 4850? I'm trying to purchase one based off of your videos. I'm just curious on what the actual difference is with color/printing/etc for Sublimation between the three
Paper trays, fax and auto feeders are really a big deal to me I do use them. I am considering an Epson Eco tank for my next printer.
Wonderful!
I have an ET-3760 that has a front loading paper draw. I think most in the 3000 series do have front loading paper draws.
Nice!
What are the differences between the Epson 2400 vs. 2850? Besides price, what are the pros and cons for sublimation printing?
They're just different model numbers with slightly different features. 😊🌻
Will the epson 2400 work good for sublimation
Hi Jennifer, how do I switch from ink jet to sublimation ink? And what ecotank Epson series are you using? Thank you.
I missed the live so I’m not sure if this has been asked before……how thick a card stock can you use in the paper tray for continuous printing without it jamming. I typically use an 80lb card stock and in my current printer, I have to hand feed it sheet by sheet.
I haven't had any issues printing on cardstock. 😊🌻
Thank you for your time and lending of your genius!
It's my pleasure!
Looking at a new printer. Need the fax and also a memory card slot. The 4850 has fax but no memory card slot. My old Xp 850 did it all. No longer can find
❤️
I’m using this for printing photos to transfer on to canvases and or wood ,etc.
❤️
Thank you for the video. Does this printer handle card stock thickness?
Yes 😊🌻
I came across this video at the perfect time. I am searching for a printer, great information thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
But would so appreciate any insights from anyone that has used both
Do you have a link to your comparison video on the 8550? I can’t seem to find it anywhere.
You can request that. jennifermaker.com/projectrequests/

Ecotank 3830 has a front loading tray. Perhaps you should open the box.
Why not buy the tank models and use epson sublimation ink in it vs the hipoo or other aftermarket products?
There are bunches of options out there, the key is finding the best for you. 😊🌻
Beautiful village!❤
Excellent instruction. Please: I need guidance on which EcoTank model to purchase to be able to print on cardstock for papercrafts. I'd be using it for Cricut print and cut projects where I want thicker paper than my current printer can handle. Thank you for any advice.
Ecotanks are good with printing up to 68# cardstock 🥰
Thank you-@@JenniferMaker
Jennifer I so trust you! I have been vassilating on replacing my HP4750. Does the Epson have a good quality print? I do not want to do sublimation - I only want good quality prints for my cricut as I also use my printer for home use. My HP will handle all size papers np - will this Epson? I would like to transition away from the ink cartridges to the tanks. ty
Yes it does!🥰
These are so cute.
Thanks you so much, is there any difference in quality printing?
I would like to use on clear acrylic which one should I buy
You can also search and/or ask in my Cricut Crafters and Makers FB Group, facebook.com/groups/cricutcraftersandmakers/
Is there much difference in quality of printing of the 2000 vs 3000 series? Both are lower cost but considering purchasing for a sublimation printer and the 2000's are cheaper. I don't want to sacrifice quality over a $100, but want to save $100 if quality is the same. Suggestions?
I would search or ask in my Sublimation FB Group, jennifermaker.com/how-to-make-stickers-with-cricut/
Jennifer, thank you for this video. I have my et 2760 printer set up for sublimation. But If you can, please tell me your overall favorite of these printers for Crafting. Especially printing on 100lb card stock. I am thinking to get the et 3830 but is there a better choice?
That's a good choice.
Jennifer I love your videos. Not sure if you can help, but can I use DTF ink instead of sublimation ink and have a DTF printer?
Here is a helpful tutorial. jennifermaker.com/dtf-t-shirt-printing-on-cotton-sublimation/
