Winter Van Life in Rocky Mountains leads to Hospital (-3F)

- Driving through a snow storm into the Rockies. Negative 3F (-19 Celsius) and snow covered roads made for an interesting drive over the mountain pass at 13,000ft up. What was supposed to be a snowboarding trip turns into a trip to the hospital. I love winter van life, the mountains covered in snow, the crispness of the air.. But sadly it didn't work out how we hoped...

Green salad with lemon juice based dressing in the mornings, magnesium food and generally a large variety of healthy foods regularly will help. I almost died of pancreatic stuff etc and fixed myself real quick with food. Get healthy, stay healthy, eat life.

Just subscribed yesterday and first video I saw was Cassie’s story!! Happy to hear that you are ok!! Prob tension & anxiety of driving (I get white knuckles too-in Atlanta traffic when I have to go there) and the cold prob didn’t help the numbness in hands. UGH!! As prob a bit older than your mom, you need better shoes & wear your coat at 5 degrees!!! I have older kids/young adults really-33, 29 & 27 years and grandson Damari-8 yrs old. You need one of those GPS-satellite gizmos when out by yourself!!! Thanks for saving Cassie❤
Dan I'm sure you know this but you're your own worst critic. Your video quality is still awesome even if you don't think so. You have beautiful shots and gorgeous transitions. Great content doesn't hurt. I'm glad to see you and Cassie again and I'm thrilled you went somewhere warmer.

I just heard of that syndrome recently because my cousin has it. She's moving to a warmer climate. I'm sorry it freaks you out. I nerve issues in my hand and shoulder go numb and it freaks me right out. You did the right thing going to the hospital just to check and make sure it wasn't something else. Best wishes!!!!
Raynauds annoys me because of the amount of time I want to spend fly fishing with my hands in cold water this summer, we will see how it does! I hope your nerve issues lighten, it’s a scary one no doubt

I'm praying you are well. I suffer from similar symptoms all caused by vascular migraines. It's definitely scary. You might want to see a neurologist to play it safe. Please get your ABS system repaired. That's yours and Cassies home ... it needs to be safe. Looking forward to your next adventure.
Interesting, I had missed like a month of school my senior year from reoccurring migraines, I will look into that a bit, thank you for the info nd I hope your conditions are alright! ABS is on the list of things hahaha

That drive is definitely nerve racking I would say and I live and drive in Wisconsin.
I grew up in Iowa, so have lots of snow experience but this pass is a nerve wracking one😅😅

Lived in Colorado almost my entire life. Gone up and down Berthoud pass for several decades….you couldn’t pay me to go down that pass during a snowy, ivy storm. Not fun.

Going down hill, going to assume you had your engine in a manual lower gear instead of just drive. If not, you should. Save your brakes. Might have been what smelled hot.

Oh gosh Dan I had my share of snow driving a truck been to Cali on 70 across Denver to Cali yeah it was pretty in that I think it was Vail all light up before Christmas all white lights and a Big Christmas tree light up, I know it was a ski resort town that was light up.
