'Offgrid' Kampa HOT Shower test & Ardennes | Road Trip Europe # 13

asimplyfab.life/ Part 13 of our Europe Road Trip and we do our first Kampa shower test offgrid as we head through the Ardennes. Camping Port Diseur is right on the confluence of two rivers, the Semois and the Meuse. From what seems to be a little industrial area, and not very interesting, emerges the entrance of the campsite. Itself not a very inspiring sight from the road...

However, we manage to get a pitch near the bottom of the camp, near the water's edge. It turns out that this area was flooded just a day or two ago being submersed under half a metre of water... The owner is therefore somewhat reluctant to offer us the space... On seeing the Landy he nods and wishes us a nice stay.
The best part is the two rivers flowing along at quite some pace on either side of our pitch! Twigs and branches come past, brown water pushing along. This is the aftermath of the floods during the European summer.
We field-test our Kampa shower for the first time (and it works a treat!) and have a pretty good, relaxing time of it with plenty of green and surrounded by the valleys of the Ardennes... In the end - not too bad...

Monthermé, one of my favourite fishing spots.. several really good swims, and you can go up the Semoy tributary which is also very good...
Also there are really clean public toilets in the town centre and a food truck that does decent grub on the square by the bridge....
Scenery is spectacular around this area, despite it's industrial past... About 90 kms from where I live..
