    Owner of 2022 Wolverine X2 XTR 850. Agree on Suspension adjustment needed. I am Lazy and just opened all Adjustments on shocks all the way out and then closed each adjustment 5 clicks closed. PERFECT!!!! Cadillac ride we Love this thing. Yamaha must have studied your VIDs as they made all the Changes you suggested , Thanks it so Right Now.

    I have the new 2022 X2 XT-R. Fantastic machine. Yamaha has adjusted some of the complaints. Roof fits great, even with Yamaha fold down windshield. Seatbelts now have upper adjustment. Suspension is fantastic after adjusting to MUCH softer settings. Great high speed, low speed and return dampening. Put 14" wheels and 28" x 10" wide Sedona mud grips on all 4 corners. Much better road and trail handling. Another 1.5 inches of ground clearance never hurts either. Now a much more capable SPORT over utility SxS!!! Great Yamaha quality and dealer network/service. Looked very hard at Rmax but decided on Wolverine. Very, ver capable

    This machine is awesome in every way. !! You can't go wrong with Yamaha. I own this exact same one. Can't said enough good things about it. Only thing I agree with is the seat belt. Simple fix with some padding. But I got to said this is my 1st sxs.

    At 16:12 you mention the fit and finish. Those gaps are intentional and the reason is to eliminate vibration noise. If those two panels were tighter they would vibrate together causing a buzzing noise depending on engine rpm, tire pattern and terrain. I worked in automotive manufacturing for 11 years and learned that from our new model r&d department.

    I have a 2020 Wolverine X2 R-Spec. It’s handled the Arizona desert, rock trails, river crossings, mountain climbs and everything in between with absolute ease. My only complaint is the squeaky front brakes.

      I also have a 2020 r spec X2 and ride it in Alberta and Arizona. So far my only complaint is clearance, it could be a bit higher. So far it has been a great machine and I am looking forward to many years of riding.

    My '20 xtr had some of the same problems. My roof was installed backwards. I figured this out after installing my led lights and was going to install the drop down windshield. Told the dealer they should replace it because I was going to have to rotate it and then fill in the holes on a brand new bike. Took pics and sent it to them. They agreed and then ghosted me. Driver side seatbelt is also installed flipped around on the bottom. Which means you have a twist in the belt when you wear it. Everytime I see that USA sticker in the cab I shake my head. For the throttle pedal my daughter couldn't drive it because it was jerky. Added a throttlemax pedal extension and its great. I also went with coyote tires one size bigger. Unfortunately in a full steering lock to one side when the suspension is compressed it does rub the floor. I have forward a-arms to install to the fix that. Also it will almost never start on the first try. Turn key and wait for fuel pump to kick off. Start and it runs a second or two and dies. Reprime the pump and it starts and runs. Every time it takes this extra step. Other than these issues the sxs runs great and the wife and daughter prefer it to our four wheelers. So I would purchase it again for them. For myself I prefer to stick to the quads unless its raining or cold. :^)

    Great vid boys . I do not have any figment issues like you do . Hopefully yours wasn’t dropped off the truck before you got it . Mine is 19 . I do disagree with it’s only good for farm trail etc . I’ve had mine everywhere with ease . You didn’t mention how the power steering is probably the best in most segments . Turning radius is phenomenal. Really appreciate your vids 👍

      @OffroadTrolls  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess we weren’t really trying to imply that it was only good for farm trail, it may have came off that way, the problem is the “group rides” we have around here average 50+ mph at times and that’s pushing it a little harder than it’s designed for, that’s why the Rmax is on his list for next machine, thanks for watching, more videos coming soon

    Great video! I just picked up my 2020 XT-R about a week or two ago. Upon pickup at the dealership, I had exactly two complaints that I made them write down for possible warranty purposes...1) A loud noise in the rear end whenever I hit a bump (this was very obvious even going in and out of the driveway at the dealership). 2) (And you mentioned this...) A hard pull to the right whenever letting go of the wheel. Once I got it home I checked bolts/sway bars/tire pressures/brake dragging/etc. And couldn't find anything to cure the pulling to the right. I did find the noise in the back...swaybar was too tight. Added a washer to it. Anyway...are you saying the TIRES are causing this pulling?...if that's the case, I'll stop looking for the issue, wear them out and replace them with the ones you did! THANK YOU in advance! Oh...on the roof..my roof was the same. I had to flip my front crossbar (where the roof mount brackets bolt on the front)...the holes were pointing DOWN, after flipping the bar, they pointed UP, and the roof is now perfectly flat. What lightbar did you get for the roof?...looks great!

    • @OffroadTrolls
      @OffroadTrolls  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The tire change definitely solved Jeff’s pulling problem, we tried adjusting the tie rods but they were very close to spec, can’t guarantee a tire change will solve your problem, but it definitely seamed to solve it for us, might try swapping sides on the front tires and see if it changes anything. The lightbar just came off the shelf at Walmart, believe it was made by Alpena lighting.

      @@OffroadTrolls I believe he was referring to the 2021 wolverine 850, the addressed a lot of the issues you guys spoke of in their new revision. I actually had the opportunity to test out a leftover 20' sitting right next to a 21' and you guys were spot on, entering and exiting was an awkward contortion compared to the 21'. I also like the new cage design, much more of an improvement.

      @@jimh.412 I looked at the wolverine and the viking when I finally pulled the trigger on my x4 xtr. The viking was cheap and had a the ability to haul 3 passengers in the front row but those were the only 2 advantages I saw tbh. I wasn't as big of a fan of the single cylinder viking engine compared to the 850 in the wolverine. It just felt loud whereas the wolverine was nice and quiet and very smooth.

    Which would you recommend?

    • @OffroadTrolls
      @OffroadTrolls  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have never drove a Viking, but I have heard some of the same complaints, however every unit will have complaints, I believe the Viking is easier to get in and out of from what I have seen, but the wolverine might have a better ride with a little bit of work on adjusting the shocks, if I was choosing between the two units I believe I would go with the wolverine, but that’s just me.

      If things work out the X2 will be sold to Jeff’s parents as it’s perfect for their needs, Jeff has many different machines on his list, hopefully we will have a video series on selecting the next machine, Honda Talon, Kawasaki KRX, Yamaha RMAX, Polaris General, and Can-Am Maverick Sport are the top contenders, the top speed aspect is the biggest reason for changing, we do quite a few rides where the average speeds beyond the top speed of the x2, however if it doesn’t work out he is more than happy to keep riding the wolverine, it’s a good machine
