Who's the real hero in the movie 'A Brooklyn Story' ? It's the bus-driver father, not the slick crime boss, despite his sartorial splendour.
I get what your saying but there is a lot of people who can sympathize with what was done to him. In my opinion knowing what we now know about the amount of people who were innocent and locked up statistically way higher then anybody expected and not only that but the U.S. has more people incarcerated then any other country in the world a total of 2.3 million to be exact and when you look at types of crimes and compare to the length of the sentence makes you scratch your head but an overall look at the big picture of it all I don't see how anyone could argue there isn't anything wrong here. Just my opinion

You mean Sonny was nicknamed The Lion. Michael Franzese is his son.
@@Alex00789 , Sonny's father was called " The Lion " when they came from Italy to NY. Actually Michael was adopted by Sonny . If you check Greg's comment on that when he verified it .
@@salvatorealbero717 That's what I said.
@@salvatorealbero717 Adopted?? You sure?
Mr.Franzese is a living legend,RESPECT!
Give this man a Congressional Medal of Honor.
He should teach Men under 45 (myself included) on how Men acted and lived before feminism and abortion.
He was a criminal. What are you talking about?
Shut up ya pansy

Most Italian mobsters are RATS. Even John Gotti tried to snake Sammy before he ratted. 🐀 no loyalty amongst em. Black gangs snitch much less than mafiosi

Man , you can make a documentary from this guy. The things he has seen and gone threw. He practically lived the rise and fall of LCN.
One of the true.. Crazy, I dont think I could do that many years. Very loyal man. R.I.P
Great video!
John pennisi is a real wise guy... Much love to john
This guy is a TRUE GANGSTER through and through!!! OLD school
After 50 years I hope he was square with the house. I hope he reconciled with the real man upstairs. May his soul rest in peace.
What a man .. They need to be a movie on Sonny
Wow! Happy belated birthday handsome. 103 yrs young and was so gorgeous in his hey-day. God bless him.
Combined with the amount of time Sonny did for parole violations, he spent the majority of the past five decades in prison. That’s why he says 50 years.
A movie should be made about Sonny's life . A movie should be made about Greg Vita's life . Truth is stranger then fiction . And the truth in both of these men's lives is in many ways heartbreaking . I whish the best for both . Thank you

@ M sz don’t even bother with this fool. Some of us root for the bad guys✌🏽🙏🏽.
How is there no real documentary on this man? SOME ONE SHOULD CONTACT HIM AND MAKE ONE ASAP!!!
Very amazing that most of the comments about this gangster are positive, even complimentary. The majoirity of Italian-Americans were not, are not, and will never be, criminals. Who's the real hero in the movie 'A Brooklyn Story' ? It's the bus-driver father, not the slick crime boss, despite his sartorial splendour.
I have the same take on this, mob guys hurt ordinary people. Shake down small businesses, on and on. And these people want to glorify them ?
You mean 'a bronx tale' surely?
I get what your saying but there is a lot of people who can sympathize with what was done to him. In my opinion knowing what we now know about the amount of people who were innocent and locked up statistically way higher then anybody expected and not only that but the U.S. has more people incarcerated then any other country in the world a total of 2.3 million to be exact and when you look at types of crimes and compare to the length of the sentence makes you scratch your head but an overall look at the big picture of it all I don't see how anyone could argue there isn't anything wrong here. Just my opinion
@@gregoryboehm7090 watch new Sonny Franzese's lawyer Ken Aronson Interview
That boy looked amazing at 100. He looks like he is in his upper 70s lower 80s. And he was in prison? Speechless.
It’s too bad there isn’t at least one in depth interview with Sonny Franzese
whats bad is how many years he was locked up
The ultimate gangster true mob royalty a person whose name will live forever
No one would sacrifice 50 years in prison while other's went on with their lives. He really lived by the code of silence and loyalty.
So I guess that makes all his murders and robberies okay. SMH

I think John 'Sonny' Franzese has payed for what he has done. I have a lot of respect for a man who has survived on the streets for over 100 years. He has done his time, and he has never betrayed anybody. Respect!!
He was in prison for 50 years. Killed women and children.
Tortured many people.
I’m sure you’re one of the guys who want less penalties for pedophiles rapists and murderers.
Now that was ORIGINAL GANGSTER.
Remember him on tv news in '60...when I was in 2nd gr & wondered what he did.

I had the pleasure of knowing " Mr. SONNY" from being in f.c.i.Elkton with him . These videos are the most I've heard him speak. Some of the funniest moments I've had was in a prison and simply watching Mr.Sonny. I had no clue who he was until I was released in 2012 and I wonder what happened to Mr. Sonny . I googled his name and was astonished and honored to know a legend .Mr.Sonny will always put a smile on my face regardless of how bad it may get. With my highest RESPECT R.i.p. MR.SONNY!
He would disclose too much while serving, right?
What did he do that was so funny since he didn't speak? A mime act? Puppet show? Balloon animals?

Unreal, now tha'ts what i call a major league gangster. One tough human being.
Love to hear him tell his story on Monroe
The Realest.
The Man lived to 103 , just to make sure He didn’t Die in Prison and then spent a few years with his family too.
Wasn’t going to give them (the government ) the satisfaction of him dying in lockup.
