Wow! How is it I am only seeing this now in 2021??? Every actor was perfect - who the hell ever saw a Tony Roberts impression? Writing was very clever. Schneider as Soon-Yi was so great, and Phil Hartman is still so missed. He WAS Sinatra.

You're so right. Its like they don't even make the attempt to memorize the most easiest words or lines these days. They're so glued to the cue cards, it is annoying sometimes watching them move their eyes trying to read.
What’s weird is that at 0:30 Chris Farley says, “Boy, you sure are a sleezebag,” but if you watch his mouth, he actually says “scumbag”. I wonder why they changed that.
Holy crap, that was ADR'd! They inserted "sleaze," but kept the bag, and since sleaze is a longer word than scum, they had to scrunch the two together to make sure it fit. Probably thought scumbag was too harsh.

Jan apparently had incredible stage fright for a live performer--I think that's why she made so many quickie appearances and cameos on SNL, but never hosted.

From a story that Rob talks about on his podcast, apparently behind the scenes it was CRAZY and Rob was late to the skit. They had turned the sound off in his dressing room and he looked up at the tv and saw the skit had started so he had to run in heels to the set. Apparently, Dana and Rob were fine cause they knew the skit well but Farley didn't know the skit, the director was out of sorts, and the cards were messed up. So Farley had to wing it and Rob said he was supposed to say "sleezebag" but said "scumbag" since in the skit he does say Sleezebag, I'm thinking it was actually opposite and Farley was supposed to say "scumbag" which honestly imo sounds less mean than sleezebag lol Anyways I love behind the scenes stories like that and thought someone else might enjoy it as well!!

Phil’s Frank was the best part of that scene by far. Amazing and great writing for Frank. Adam you can see his acting chops are real. Rest of the writing was so so.

Carvey was great. But he's really imitating Allen as a character in his movies. Allen in real life isn't that confused and neurotic.
