My guess is this was done automatically by an AI or some software or something. There is a lot of wrong with many of those.
Seems to have trouble on the Eyes with the angled perspective; or maybe most heroes are just that asymmetrical and cross-eyed.
They are way better now! :)
Some of them look pretty good, while others...less so. As much as I like the game and its art, I have to point out that the eye issue seems to occur in og works as well.

Well if more base charakter is prettier then final efect is much better. Look at every pirate fraction arts.
Same feeling, few ugly humanoind faces (like Ayden or Clavius) ended pretty well, but nonhumans were usually really weak.
