Miniatures game review: Polemos American Civil War rules

- Baccus Miniatures, a damned fine creator of 6mm miniatures, has its own family of wargames rules. The 'Polemos' family of rules are very clear and clever. I particularly like their American Civil War sets - 2 sets of rules under 1 cover.
Aaaah, 6mm! The glorious queen of all scales! ^_^

Thanks for this review. I will check these out.
I do love these rules
Good review. I’ll use this rule set simply because it’s easy to change to brigade lvl
I realy like these rules. They work well, and have a really great feel to them.
if you know, how do these rules compare to Altar of Freedom? In terms of simplicity, play, and authenticity
Aaah - "Altar of freedom" is a far more simplistic set. I felt that the Polemos rules gave a much better game. Polemos felt more authentic and less stylised than AOF.
I’m re-reading Mus of Kerbridge and loving it.
Does this tempo point mechanism found in their Napoleonic rules?
It's a part of all their "Polemos" family of rules. So yes, it's in the Napoleonic rules as well
Hi Pauli, have you read the polemos ancient version Spqr? I’m very curious now.
I have a copy somewhere. I have to dig it out again. Played it once and enjoyed it. It has the same tempo mechanisms etc.
We used to have a whole group that played ancients in 6mm. We randomised a year, and ended up all having to take armies from 87 AD. SPQR would have been a good fit! (Aaah - my mighty hordes of Kushan! Pointy-heads - chaaaaaarge!)
I've just ordered a French set of ancient rules, 'L' Art de la Guerra" to read through and review. They seem to be very popular in the UK at the moment.
