No, it's about cute girls in the thumbnail. That's it.
it works amazing! 😂
Crisp, to the point, no blabber. This is what new age content future looks like!
😄 Are you sure you don't wanna hear how I fed my cat today before I start the video?
i’m so astonished, i always knew the importance of lighting in filmmaking but seeing side by side like this is so shocking, the difference is HUGE, and that was different from other youtuber filmmakers yours really got that CINEMATIC spice!!
im also completely in love with this channel jeez man your quality, both technical and of content, is absurd, all the lighting, depth of field, color grading, audio, the aesthetic, even the thumbnails photography, everything, i hope one day i'll get this level 😭
beautifully crafted video. Made your point in 2 Minutes where most need 10+. 🤲
Glad you liked it! thanks a lot!
We usually accept this advice after spending so much in cameras. Lighting is key
True story brother 😂
Hey Max. Just watched couple of your videos. Great content and quality. Love the 2 minutes short form. And yes, the light is absolutely the key element in photo & video. It needs to be understood to be appreciated enough.
Man do i appreciate a concise video like this
🤝 thank u!
Short and sweet which made me want to see more what you’ve got in store especially on lighting 👏🏾 great video man!
Thanks! And yesss! great lighting videos will follow very soon!
But I want to make it really really high quality "Netflix style", and I need some time for that!
Stay tuned! would love to have u on board! 🤟
The final result is amazing and I love that the video goes to the point and delivers without any fillers.
Thank you! glad u like it!
The most sensible title for a cinematography related TH-cam video I've seen in a looooooong time. Well done Max.
The truth always hurts! 😂
I love the video :] my favorites are guides/tutorials like these and you always do a great job!
Thanks Maubro! Glad you like them!
Amazing video man! Keep making these, instantly subbed. This is very useful information and I want more :)
Thanks for the sub! Glad u like it!
Great video Max. The side by side comparison is excellent. Nice work.
Thanks! 👍
That's a really stunning result and the beauty of it is how simple and minimal you made it. I cannot stand overly complex lighting designs when 2-3 lights placed and modified correctly would do the trick. Well done!
Thanks Evan! 🙏
Great videos !! Looking forward to following your channel . Would it be possible to have a video of you setting up such a lighting set
Instantly subbed! Getting straight to the point and showing insane results. Love it
Hi Sebastian! Thank you a lot! Happy to make more content for you! 🫡😎
People who get straight to the point are a blessing.

Love the efficiency of your style. Great work.
Thank you very much!
Automatic sub. Great info in such a short time. Keep up with this short but very good quality videos.
Thanks for the sub! this or next week i'm gonna uploading the next lighting tutorial!
ich habe jetzt alle deine Videos durchgeschaut 😂😅 feier dich sehr! Kurze Videos auf den Punkt - Mega 🎉
Danke Chris!
This was such a good video, love the texture of the light in this
Thank you! Cheers!
great video, instant sub! excited to see your channel grow
Thank you man! 🥳
I think it would have been great to throw in an iPhone or older/lesser camera to showcase that the lighting still holds a great image with budget friendly gear. Great video!
You won't believe it!
The original idea was “Cheap cam and pro Light VS Pro cam and cheap light“.
But I thought, no one is interested in old technology and have rewritten the video to this one.
@@maxsautner the original idea was better.
Simple and Great!
🤝 thank you!
Although this topic has been discussed extensively, I appreciate your straightforward and concise approach in your videos. I have subscribed.
that's nice to hear! thank u and welcome! 🥳
Quick, direct and very informative video. Thank you so much for this.
Glad you enjoyed it! Subscribe for more! 🤟
@@maxsautnerdone🙌🏾
wooool from brazil! your content is amazing
Thank you Allessandro!
Awesome video! Lighting can make a cheap camera look expensive, but also an expensive camera look cheap
Imagine combining both = Oppenheimer💥😂
Lighting is truely key, amazing bro
Thanks dude! I'll probably make a couple more tutorials about lighting!
Thank you for this. The one thing that wouldve made this even more helpful is knowing where you set the lights and how much power you gave to each light.
U right! Next time, I'll show a lighting plan or at least a wide shot of the final setup!
Thanks!
instant subscribe
Thx buddy! 🙏
With a fx6 makes it better though
yes, I have to admit...😄
This has made me realise that I really need to look into lighting.. The before and after comparison is on another plane
Hey Luke, yeah, lighting is cool!
I just writing a new video script for the next lighting tutorial!
Stay tuned and subscribe!
@@maxsautner For sure, got you man
Woulda been nice to see where and how you had the lights set up for the look you got.
I'll make some more uploads about lighting! stay tuned!
@@maxsautner Just realized my comment came off wrong…didn’t mean it like that. Let me rephrase: “This vid is inspiring, now I’m so curious how you used the edge light and background fill!?” (Ok much better) 🤦♂️😆
My 10 year old canon T5i with 1080p 30 video recording capability at 4:2:0 8 bit h.264 with 11.7 stops of dynamic range (probably closer to 9 or 10 in practice) begs to differ lol. Of course lighting is more important but there has to be a minimum performance threshold that your camera must reach first. I definitely need a better camera.
hahah yeah, I think a healthy balance is a great thing! 😁
I love what you are doing mate am from kenya and into film unprofessional and i want to transition can you be my mentor 🙏
People are more obsessed with camera and lens. I see many friends around me upgrade new cameras and lens. not so much on other gears.
yep...👀
What focal lengths did you use?
A cam: 50mm 1.4
B Cam: 85mm 1.8
Subscribe to see following interview tutorial! 🤟
Uhhhh...you're doing TH-cam ALL WRONG. Where is the coffee-making b-roll... where is the shot of you walking into the studio... where is the absurd 4 minute intro about why you're making this video. Kidding of course - thanks for such a concise clear video - pure gold - keep up the good work!
😂💛 sometimes, I think, im too fast / short, but I get a ton of comments like that! Maybe less is more... 👀
@@maxsautner Less is definitely more. I struggle with it on my channel - I want to give context and make sure I'm being clear, but that often turns into a lot of wasted minutes.
Subbed - looking forward to checking out more of your content.
@@MattSpaugh Thanks a lot! See ya buddy!
Thanks, I just subscribed. Good clear concise content and no BS or filling. Control of light is clearly at the heart of improving your visuals.
Subject, set, framing or composition are important too. Perhaps, like a chain, the end is only as good as the weakest link. Story, sound, appropriate movement (subject and camera) and tight editing as well. There is much to learn and hard for anyone to be good at all/most disciplines - perhaps why the best work is usually a collaborative team game.
Thanks for the sub! Yeah I can only agree! Especially having a good team is super important!
Was the shot inverted for the test? Or did you move the chair to a different area of the room that's not being shown here.
I first filmed the build up, but many people are confused because I actually light from the left, although the lamp was on the right at the beginning... my bad!
But I´m lighting from the left side with my keylight.
0:15 so wahr :D !
😁
1:43 what jib?
Panther Jib Arm as far as I remember...
I think this is a good start, but the lighting is a tad bit sourcey to me and looks more TH-cam style rather than filmic
Yeah, I think its a matter of taste and everyone would design it a little differently.
That's the cool thing to see, the difference between creators!
@@maxsautner that's very true 🙏🙏
It will look more cinematic if you put the light in the left side of the person
The keylight is on the left! 🤠
den kenne ich doch!
Hallo! ✋😄
There is barely any info. No focal length. I decided to look at other of your videos and saw the same thing. Explaining how you make your b-roll, but say nothing about the most important b-roll element - the movement. Did you use crane, gimbal, slider, 4 axis pan head and so on.
If you wanna gain traction, you must go deeper bro :)
The video is not about the camera or lens, but about the difference when you work with lighting.
In the B-roll video, I actually mentioned all the points you wrote down... 😄🤷🏻♂️
“Even with good lighting, you can shoot with an iPhone & get a good image”. Bro how come you didn’t shoot a scene with an iPhone then 💀 Still good advice though lmao
iPhone 20 Ultra PRO Studio 🔥😆
