Spacelights are more of a bigger production kind of thing. You'll often see them in large sound stages lined up all over the ceiling to make indoor look like outdoor with ambient light perfectly all over the stage.
I've been doing photography for 20 years and video for 5-6 years and I've ALWAYS chosen to buy my own equipment, contrary to many of my colleagues. To me, it's primarily about two things: 1 ) I save A LOT (!!!!!) of time just having the equipment ready for use in my car, not having to book it, drive pick it up / return it again etc and 2 ) after renting the same thing x number of times, you've spent more money that it would have cost me to buy it anyway.
Also - I can't count the number of times clients have changed the scope DURING a production where I saved their *sses by going to get the extra things in my car - I would not be able to do that if I went the renting-way@@maxsautner
Hi Max, nice video and cool setup you've got! Lights are always a good investment in my opinion. Keep up the great work! Quick question though, how do you transport the InfiniBar kit? It seems like quite a large case in my opinion. What's the easiest way for you to transport it? Do you always bring the entire case to a shoot, or do you just take a few tubes out of the case? Thanks!
Hi Joeri, this case is a big pain. I wish @aputure would sell separate empty cases or a 4 in one solution. Most of the time, we take the whole case, but only if we work with a grip + an assistant. I try to go easy on my colleagues, since we often have longer days... But its also cool, if we load a big truck, so my infinites are safe and can't be crushed...
Hey man! G&E guy here, just wanted to point out, make sure your knuckle is always set to the right for the weight. The 2x3 not so much a big deal 1:30 but as things get heavier it cause the knuckle to loosen and bad things can happen. Keep up the great work. 🤙🏼
@@maxsautner haha. I try not to be that guy, but I just see so many YT’s set it the wrong way, or place a bag on a stand that’s touching the floor. Just trying to keep people safe cause that knowledge isn’t as common as camera/lighting. 😊
Thank you very much! It's a quick overview, but I'll be doing more detailed individual tutorials on light and film in the future. Really looking forward to it!
just found your channel and instantly subbed Max! Quick question, do you find yourself using the 600c's rgb colors often? Looking to upgrade to this or the 600x next! Thank you for this super helpful video!
I fell in love with the turtle base KUPO stands... the best in the world... but found out that they dont fit in the Avenger rolling bag/Case.. so now im on the avenger c stands two... they are not as cool as the KUPO, but they fit in the bag and they are doing the job. great video btw but just to be clear... Stands are NOT the boring stuff :P hehe
Hi Max, how do you power the 120D if you can not reach an outlet? I tried looking for a V Mount Battery and got the OMNI-99S 99Wh which in theory outputs 150W. It cant even power a GODOX ML100Bi at 80% power
They are simply better to mount, in my opinion, and I can magnetise them everywhere without the clamps like with Asteras. And I can screw them together and program crazy pixel effects and so on. Maybe I should make a video about that too :D
Thanks for taking us through your lighting arsenal.
Such a great and dynamic kit man!
Thank you man!
Thanks, Max. Never heard of the space light before. Also, grip gear is NOT boring :)
You always welcome buddy!
had to laugh because of your grip comment! 😂🫶

Yeah and I love the freedom of learning and experimenting before shoot

Apurture should sponsor you! That's an impressive kit you've got there.
Thank you buddy! I really hope to collaborate with them one day!
the best video all times about light and everything.

I feel your pain. You will make that back for sure.
Yeah... 😄
Amaziiing! Curious if Aputure reached out to you. Or you just love their lights! :))
Sadly no... but I REALLY love the lights!
And the reason for all the Aputure stuff is also ONE APP for ALL LIGHTS!
love it!
You have my dream lighting kit
Thanks buddy!
Hope you collect your own setup very soon!
@@maxsautner thanks. I’m half way there.
im from barcelona nice videooo, tnks
Thanks for watching!
yup suscribed ! love lighting gear!
Awesome! Thank you!
Do you use the hyper reflectors with your 600’s too? Or just the 1200?
We sometimes do, especially for the hard backlight or diffusion frames
Hi Max, what made you choose for the infinibars over the titan tubes? (imo titan tubes are still industry standard)

@@maxsautner Please do! I have four of the PB12 (bought separately) and would love to see where you've found them the most useful :)
AWESOME.
Thank you man!
This is a huge investment but definitely gonna have loads of joy
Yeah, I try to get the money back trough the jobs...
