The child protection laws can literally take kids form parents if the government decides that as an example teaching kids Christianity is some form of abuse. Taking an idea doesn’t deprive the original creator of anything. If I use your melody, you still have it. Unlike material goods, ideas aren’t zero-sum. So if I don’t diminish your ability to use your creation, why should it be restricted?
If you want to profit from an idea, you should do so by applying it-like selling a song with your melody-not by slapping an ownership label on it and claiming monopoly rights. If the concern is that artists can’t make a living without IP laws, there are other ways to generate income, like direct sales, patrons, or simply being first to market. The ease of piracy today shows that people still prefer to support creators via services like Netflix and Spotify, despite easy free alternatives.
