Hi I had kidney transplant do medicine I can’t remember that much but I forgot to fill form my citizenship interview next month but should I do I can’t remember answer and question.
I have a handicap on my legs. Whole My life I'm on wheelchair. My Dr said she can write paperwork for me. But I applyed citizenship on January so it already passed 6months. Is it too late?
Unfortunately I do not think you will be approved for an N-648, because we have to show that your disability in your legs has affected your ability to learn.
Hi, my mom has a scheduled us citizenship interview on September 12, 2023. She has a severe lung disease (COPD). Back in January to February this year she was in ICU, then March, the doctor gave her an option to do the TRACHEOSTOMY. As of now she is in the Sub acute Facility recovering. She is still in bed always, have a feeding tube in her stomach, she has catheter, she has anxiety and tracheostomy is still in her throat and she cannot talk (no voice). Is my mom eligible for this exemption? Thank you in advance for your reply!!!!
I am sorry to hear this! She must attend the appointment, even when filing a medical waiver. I would contact USCIS right away and let them know about this situation.
My mom doesn’t have any disability physical but she has hard time of memorizing and learning English she’s 50 years old. Can you let me know my best option
It will be very hard to get the medical waiver if you cannot have a physician document that her inability to learn English is due to a medical issue. Some people may have a learning disability or other mental issue that can be documented. Best regards.
Maybe if she can see a psychologist and get an evaluation if she has mental disability diagnosis she can apply for the disability waiver. The Dr. Has to fill out the forms for her .
Look up “USCIS English language exemptions”. Could help maybe. You are exempt from the English language requirement, but are still required to take the civics test if you are: Age 55 or older at the time of filing for naturalization and have lived as a permanent resident in the United States for 15 years (commonly referred to as the “55/15” exception). www.uscis.gov/citizenship/exceptions-and-accommodations
My mom's native language is Spanish. She summited the form N-648 for learning disability with the form N400. She will have the citizenship interview next month. My question is: Is my mom going to have the naturalization test in Spanish? or she won't be tested at all...I know it can depend of the officer, but I would like to have an idea how is the process at the day of the interview. Thank you for your help!
It depends in what kind of disabilities the doctor put in the N-648 as disabilities your mother has, if said she has read, speak, write, and understand they not gonna ask her anything maybe just about her personal information but in her native language with interpreter. If just some of those they will ask her to read, write, or speak if is marked as disabilities.
@@venturaculivela5374 Yes, this is correct. They may make her take the test in Spanish. I would read the Naturalization page at USCIS.gov or you can call me for a consultation. 404-325-5858.
This is the best truthful explanation that I have found in 3 months of searching for answers. Great job !
Thanks!! I am glad I could help you.

You may need to consider a medical waiver.
