Thank you so much for this. I never thought I would be able to play something this complex on the ukulele but you made it so easy and I have a huge smile on my face learning it!

Hello! This is a lovely arrangement. Do you have a video of you playing the whole song? I am having difficulty figuring out the timing for the walk up on verses 4 and 6. The chord charts I have are showing different line lengths is part of the problem. I can't figure out where the line breaks are!
Hi Deborah, thank you watching and I'm glad you enjoyed it, I know it's an old video x Joni messes continually with the timing in this song, pausing on lyrics or just speeding through a whole lone of them. It's a tricky one to follow and I personally prefer lyrics lining up nicely with the beat so I did my best to do that as that suit my style of playing it. Hope that answers your question and thank you again for watching :)
This is amazing and I'm so happy I found it. You show everything in exactly the way I was looking for. Unfortunately I'm still just starting so at some points you go way too fast for me. Thankfully there's a rewind!
Yes definitely use the pause and rewind as much as you like I know it can be a bit overwhelming at first but you can do it! Thank you for watching and I'm really glad you like the vid xx
Thank you for your fantastic tutorials on Ukulele. I realise the good sound of your instrument. Would you please tell me what strings do you use? Thank you. PS. I like your shirt. PPS. I like your laughing, too. Greetings from Germany, Sylvia
Hallo! 😁 Thank you so much for such a lovely comment🙏 Germany! Amazing 😁 I haven't changed the strings on this uke as it's still pretty new but I have recently restrung another with addarrio elixir strings... I'm going to do a video on them soon, once they've settled as I only did it Friday so I'm not sure how good they are yet. They do come highly recommended though! Thank you for enjoying my chuckling haha I laugh my way through the mistakes! 😊
@@RhythmRoMusicTutor Hi, thank you for your prompt reply! I also use d'addario strings but not elixir. Maybe i should try this one next. Have i already mentioned your adorable voice? Wonderful!
I have been searching for this song tutorial on the uke, thank you. I think a strumming version would be easier for me I'm still stuck on the finger hammer in the first rift I just cannot seem to get it! I wonder if there is a way to do it without that bit? 🤔 hopefully I'll be able to play this song some day. I'm not new to the uke but nor am I a pro. You play and sing it beautifully.
Hey, thanks for watching and thank you! Do you mean the middle finger hammer on the G chord, second fret A string? You could just pluck the G chord without the hammer so in terms of plucking you'd play G (2 beats) G (2 beats) G (4 beats). Hammer ons can take some time to get and every hand is different but do what works for you. Yes strumming is easier and you don't have to pluck these you could just strum them. Hope that helps! x
Hi, I'm a huge Joni fan and I'm thinking about buying an ukulele so I can play and sing some of her songs... I'm afraid 'cause I'm very clumsy and they're all difficult though. Anyway, your tutorial was great, I was just wondering what kind of ukulele are you playing? Is it a soprano?
Thanks for watching! I'm playing an Alvarez soprano but you might find a concert a bit easier for your fingers as it's slightly bigger. I have a Harley Benton kahuna that I use a lot more than the Alvarez these days... Try not to be put off, there are always other ways of playing songs and also build yourself up to Joni if you're a total beginner. Get some easier songs under your belt first to build your confidence then have a go 😊
Oh, thank you so very much for your time on this tutorial. I love this song and I love your voice.
