Man that's alot of figuring. Great job. You basically did what many would think is impossible. A functional cluster is what makes the dash swap all worth it.
Super impressive brother. The amount of patience and perseverance you have to figure all that out and get it to work properly, man! Keep up the great work and videos!
So far mine is okay. I left the old LEDs on and I shorted them out and blew them out. I then left them on and soldered the new wire to the solder that was already there. It was so much easier than removing the old LED and trying to solder to the cleaned terminals. I couldn't get the wire to stick to one that came off. But have no problem soldering to the ones I left on. Maybe doesn't look as clean but you dont see it anyway. It works and is likely stronger than if you removed all the old solder.
The video for steering column swap is gone. I am trying to put the 08 column into my 04 f250. I bought the wring diagrams from you as well as the board for the dash cluster, and the vent ductwork. Do you have the video for the steering column swap.? I click on the link I had saved, and it says it is private.
I am going to leave the old LEDs on the old board and solder the wire to them. I will let you know how it works out. I just think it would be easier to leave the old LEDs in there and not risk damaging the board by removing them. Either they will light up with the rest of the bulbs and the inside of the sandwich will be lit up, or I will take the soldiering iron and burn the LEDs so they are burned out. But I don't see why we have to remove them?
Nice. I wish I knew how to take out my 2008 Ford 350 Super duty cluster board. I've seen you take out a whole dash but do I need to do that just to take out the cluster board?
I have a 2008 F450 that I have done engine swap from 6.4 to a 2002 7.3. It went in almost effortless, starts and drives great. I now need to adapt tack and speedometer of the 7.3 instrument wiring harness to the 2008 wiring harness. I have both the 6.4 and 7.3 harness running to the dash. I would like to run jumper wires from the 7.3 harness to the 2008 6.4 harness to make both the tack and speedometer to operate. I need the color codes of both the 2002 F450 and the 2008 F450 to match up the wires correctly. Any advice and help locating color codes would be appreciated. I am willing to pay for this information from King Shaka Customs
How did you get the info button to work? I have the info system with the 2008 dash I bought. Is it possible to hook it up to the 2004 truck and have it work?
I am going to purchase. What is the difference between the loaded board and the one you build? What all is included on the loaded board? Will I be using the speedometer and tachometer that is currently in the 08 dash and moving them to this new cluster board? And how about the steering wheel. How did you get the steering wheel and lights etc to work?
Contact Chris at the linked website he can answer your questions on the product. You will be using whatever motors came in your original cluster board. The steering wheel is a whole different topic. I’m no longer doing column wiring the old school route or giving info on that. Go visit swaphelper.com for his kit on the steering column. Thanks
Just wondering why you are installing red and green bulbs and other colors for the dummy lights. I am told the clear bulb willl light that stuff all up the color that the factory is. I am told there is a resin in the film that will make it the correct color. If not, then mine will all be one color?
@@dennisz494I know I’m a year late on this and have figured out what to do with it but there is a huge difference in the cluster/layout I would’ve loved to have had this convo a year ago but that’s totally on me lol
@@Jimmyziggy Thank you. I got the cable from the same place you did. 18 gauge. They look really small. Like telephone or cat5 wire. Does this sound like your wires as well?
Has anyone else on here gotten the board with lights and transistors already installed? Did it come with all clear lights, and you were told that the resin in the film would make everything the correct colors? I was given all clear bulbs, so I am wondering if anyone else got all clear bulbs and the colors came out as they should or all clear? Because I put my film infant of my bedroom light and it doesn't show everything in colors. it all comes out clear.I will be so pissed if I do all this work and then find that I must take it all apart again and redo it.

You are the man! This is amazing, I really didn’t want to pay $800 for the cluster helper.

Thank you very much!
Awesome!! Great!! Hope to make one myself in the future
Thank for watching!
Thanks man. Definitely gonna reference this vid again when I get my cluster and boards!
Did yours come with LED's etc or did you have to purchase them separately?
@@dennisz494 you can get them either way

This is all great! How about the steering column? How does the gear shift cable for the 08 hook up to the 04 tranny, or vice versa?
I purchased a bracket for a 2008 transmission and installed it on my 2004 tranny. it worked perfectly.

Could this be done with an OBS cluster like go from an 07 dash to an OBS?
Would it be the same pinouts and stuff for a 2006 cluster to a 2008?
What is the screen you had at 24:42 and where did you get it. I have the miles reading but I do not have any other digital screens on my 2004 cluster.
The screen was from the overhead console. It was a custom build for myself

Hey man I’m trying to find the boards and I can’t find them anywhere? Does he still print them?
I havnt looked yet, do you have a video covering the rgb leds on the boards?
I don’t not. I’m not sure what he does for those ones

I did different colors accordingly
Does anyone know how to program the millage into a 09 f-250 Harley Davidson cluster?
How much will you charge me to do mines I can ship both to you
Just out of curiosity how much more or less difficult is this to swap an 04 with an 05-07 cluster
what? Why would you want to do all this work to basically swap the same dash and cluster?
is really no difference between the 04, and the 05-07 dash cluster.

No answers here I see. What gage are those wires? They look awfully small. Will they melt?
18 gauge. That’s the biggest gauge you should be using on this. Anything else is too big and won’t fit in the slots of boards
The ribbon cable wires are smaller for my display screen. That was my own experiment with this so there’s no details on that.

I tested mine and the clear lights all lit up in the colors they should. So they are not clear as they look.
