Thank you, Ginette, for providing space for this so needed podcast, particularly during the holidays. Shannon, I am so sorry for your losses. It took an amazing amount of courage to be present with only a month out. You both held such grace. My loss began with my 25 year old son and then four more others, two being both my Mom and Dad. Everything resonated with me. I became a seeker, too, because I knew my son was only gone physically, and he still existed somewhere. My curiosity led to the beginning of my spiritual journey. Cruel was a good choice of words in describing only a few days for bereavement time (by US employers, too). I pray this changes. Sending love and healing. Thank you both for doing this from the bottom of my heart.

Our culture is so grief illiterate. I appreciate your ability to be so articulate on such a complex and overwhelming topic. I'm 3.5 years into my journey and I have great difficulty speaking about it. Thank you for sharing. It will help folks on both sides of the abyss begin to understand...(at least a little bit).

also, i would be remiss not to mention that the 5 stages of grief were originally designed to assist terminally ill patients grapple with the journey of walking towards death & assist everyone involved (health care providers, family, friends) with better communication, compassion & a better nuanced understanding of such an experience. i'll blame my "brain fog/grief" for forgetting to mention this very important talking point😉
