I bought this camera in the original travelbag with 3 lenses, being 35mm, 50mm, 135mm and all the diopters for close focusing!!! All in very good working condition. Just for €100... a complete bargain. Now I also use an adapter with the lenses for my Fuji x camera and it is just amazingly sharp. The diopters are making the close ups possible from 35cm on. Still I use the Bessamatic for ectachrome film. Good video! Thanx

Its an amazing camera! And the quality of the glas is top notch. Just near focusing distance is a problem! Enjoy it!

You can adapt these lenses to digital mirrorless cameras using a DKL adapter which will also operate the aperture setting - works great.

You can even put them on dslrs. And if you buy an eos to dkl adapter and have a mirrorles camera you can use a helicoid adapter. So you use 2 adapters. With this your nearfocus distance becomes much better which is really awesome

The Bessamatic is more heavily built than the very similar Kodak Retina SLR models. They are so similar that with a minor user modification, the lenses of the Bessamatic can be used on the Retina, and visa versa. The ultimate version was the Ultramatic CS mounting incredible seven element Septon 50mm lens. By the later 1960s when that model was produced, the whole SLR leaf shutter camera was totally surpassed by the focal plane SLRs, most of which came from Japan. Additionally, Voigtlander was financially suffering, and ended up being bought up by Zeiss. When it folded, Voigtlander has several new cameras on the drawing boards, one of which was a fully modern 35mm SLR which could compete with the Japanese cameras. Zeiss took the model, changed the name to Zeiss and produced it for a few years, but by then Zeiss camera division was in trouble itself. As to the Bessamatic (and Retina), the limitations imposed by the leaf shutter behind the interchangeable lens were too restrictive to allow lenses wider than 28mm or longer than 200mm. Further distinction: Voigtlander made the first generally available zoom lens, and used it on the Bessamatic.

+Scott Sherman thank you very much! I am glad you find it usefull! In a few weeks you can see a video to the Kodak Camera, which had the same lensmount but is quite different to this camera! So stay tuned if you are interested in this kind of cameras. I have also nearly all the lenses which where availible for this system and i will do reviews on them as the time goes by (the first zoom lens ever is one of them as well)so thank you for watching

Karri the Memelord great find! If it works you have one of the most complex mechanical cameras on the planet and in my opinion one with a great design as well..

Great bid the lantar is a very good lens but the skopar is as good as the leica sumneron and the Zeiss planar. Regards

victor whitby Skopar is on the level of an Elmar or Tessar maybe. Voigtländer Ultron is on par with Summicron and Planar.

„Woigtländer“? It‘s pronounced (like) „FOHGTLÄNDER“. As a German, you should know that.
