    Greg,
Really enjoy your videos. I know the editing and production is so very time consuming and you really do such a great job.
I’m loving the technology of today and so happy I’ve lived long enough to enjoy such a specialized topic produced in such a fantastic way.
    Cheers,
    Chris

Thanks Chris! The shooting and editing on the herping videos is pretty basic and straightforward, the other stuff there is a bit more work. I just want to create some visually appealing and informative videos that help people and turtles 👍🏼

I have always wanted to explore more of the upper tributaries of the Flint . I have seen alligator snappers but they are small . DNR naturalists have seen barbers map turtles but I haven’t . All the loggerhead musks I have found are not as big as the monsters you find but I have found lots of mud turtles and soft shells there .

    • @GregsTurtleHaven
      @GregsTurtleHaven  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Do you know if the mud turtles you found were striped muds or easterns? The upper flint tends to be heavier on the striped muds in most areas

    Awesome!
    Very cool!
    Mesmerising carapax!
I was out today (always looking for wildlife) but all I had was a distant cuckoo, here in Hilversum, Holland.
"Intelligent lockdown" ? Never in my whole life seen this many people in the woods. By far.
But very beautiful those streams! I liked the musk in the tree! And the common snapper! Mine is slightly smaller. And I have six common musk turtles. And some more. I ♥️ 🐢 !!

I feel the same way! You can’t create a captive environment without a solid base knowledge of where they come from and exactly how they live in their habitat. I’m always happiest seeing wild turtles in the wild, as nature intended

Cool video, kind of made me wish I was walking along looking for turtles. Really cute baby soft shell turtle🐢. Wish people were more caring, and not pollute the rivers. I was surprised that despite the trash you were able to find some nice looking turtles. Really enjoyed this video, thank you, and be safe🐢🐢🐢

@@GregsTurtleHaven ah and watched the whole video, very happy you discovered what I missed, what I never looked for. All the trips I made from there I always drove further away. Would be interesting to find the northern most spot where there are barbours and ast. Good work in this video, those beaver ponds in the southern flint, the deeper ones get ast populated according to al Redmond old interviews I made.

    • @burtman9649

They'll eat just about anything from canned tuna, salmon, mackerel, and shrimp and of course chicken ! I feed my little red ear a medium sized cooked frozen shrimp with all the shrimp shell completely removed once a day and he's already tripled in size in less than 2 months ! I'm positive the shrimp is his favorite because he devours the whole thing pretty quickly. I named him Mr. T 🐢
He's in 20 gallon kiddie pool setup as a natural environment with plants, rocks, and a small log for him to bask on. I live in a flood zone in a gully right next to a major creek, so we see everything from snakes galore and baby turtles every summer ! They also eat hotdogs, but I would not feed them to my pet turtle considering what most hotdogs have in them. Pretty Gross

Awesome video! I enjoyed seeing the variety of turtles, and it's always a treat see the baby ones. I'm glad to hear the more urban part of their habitat is healthy enough for them to flourish. Love that the water is clear enough to see their trails, and it's cool to see the loggerheads climb to the primo higher places to bask. I would. 🌞

    • @GregsTurtleHaven

@@GregsTurtleHaven It seems to have spread in time. She had it before and it went away. But lately it has gotten worse. I think it's from water changes. I scrubbed her shell but seemed not to help.
