    The GT86 is a sleek and sporty ride,
    But with some modifications, it can be amplified.
    A new exhaust system for a growling sound,
    And a cold air intake to keep the engine cool and sound.
    Upgraded brakes and suspension for better control,
    And a lightweight flywheel for faster acceleration, we know the goal.
    Add a turbo or supercharger for more power,
    And a body kit to give it an aggressive tower.
    New wheels and tires for better grip on the road,
    And a paint job to make it shine and show it's bold.
    Modifying a GT86 is an art,
    A car that's customized will surely set it apart.

      Yeah and it would be a great car. They are really nice looking just not worth the money. Even second hand they're around 12k for one that isn't nackered and still around 70k miles! All that for ab extremely slow base car is the issue. I think they're amazing to start with but the cost to modify is Insane as it needs a lot to be quick.

      @@honesttroll3463 then you bought the car for the wrong reasons. Power shouldn't be the priority so much as a side goal option.. Too many cars focus on that and it shows because they can't perform well anywhere else without getting into supercar territory. They just aren't as fun as these cars can be. Power is "lacking" because most cars people are familiar with have a tiny turbo from factory to help boost torque in low and mid range so despite having similar power or slightly more they just feel faster because of that torque coming on early in the powerband. In these NA smaller engines you have to build it up in the higher rpms.

      Stock intake is already a highly efficient cold air intake. A panel filter is the only worthwhile upgrade without FI or a different snorkel.

    The GT86 is one of the cars I'd like to replace my Honda CRZ eventually, would be a rocket for me as I can have fun in my CRZ and that only has 120bhp. Other options are another Honda (FN2 likely), MX-5, cool Kei car like a S660 (import from Japan). I'm in Ireland so tax on 2 litre petrol cars and insurance on sports cars is quite high, so that's a consideration. Also the GT86 is so rare here in Ireland, like my CRZ you just don't see them.

    • @CarsWithBen
      @CarsWithBen  ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice looking and not too heavy. 0-60 time is 7.6s or something like that which is obviously not a fast car. To buy one and modify would be the goal but u can't get one in UK for less than £12,000 and 70k miles. That is an expensive car start modifying when u can buy plenty that are half this cost that are instantly far faster, type r, Clio rs200, golf GTi, Mazda MPs etc. Granted these 86' are nicer cars than some of them but still has worse build quality.
    The cost to get good performance is going to be around £15,000 so may aswel just buy a gr86. For the cost you could buy a rs3 lol.
    U can mod any car but I have never seen a quick gt86. It has a boxer engine which isn't a great thing really.
    Im not hating the car, just been realistic. Why would anyone choose this over say a 335i? Similar price for the 335i but miles quicker stock and has HUGE upgrade possibilities. Only positive thing about these are they are Japanese but I do think the car was a failure/mistake. They should have had a turbo and they would have been a complete success but they were seriously overpriced from day 1.
    Even a 350z can be grabbed in UK for around 8k with similar mileage and is obviously far faster, sounds far better and has plenty of mod room.

    • @CarsWithBen
      @CarsWithBen  ปีที่แล้ว

      Super insight sir. It is a great car but seem to hold there money atm too. For me, a car like a 350z was way older and had higher tax so was a no brainer

      Here in Los Angeles, I found a '16 frs with 56k mi for $16k. Small bumbper damage that has a new bumper. If it's there in 2 months I'll settle for $14k if it runs good. But only 10k price has well over 120k miles. I wouldn't risk that
