    Man, Mitsubishi had so much potential. TBH, they should've doubled down on their WRC cred like Subaru and refreshed their sedans. Crossovers sell but brand reputation is built on everything else. No one thinks of crossovers when they think Mercedes or BMW but they compromise for that. If Mitsubishi wants to grow, they need the Evo and VR4. Without it, no one cares about Mitsubishi.

    The Galant vr4 is what got me into Japanese imports!! Late 90's a friend kept telling me how fast his buddies car was. Finally one day they stopped by and I seriously thought it looked stupid and I'd just pretend that I was impressed with how fast it was. Then I got a ride it in and was shocked (it only had a 16g but at the time that was sick). After that ride I got out and saw one of the sickest cars I ever saw and was hooked on 4 cylinder turbos since (sold my jeep and got the 99 impreza RS I later wrx swapped).

  • @mitsuturbo
    @mitsuturbo 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Equal length half shafts up front. No torque steer to speak of. 90's VR4s didn't get rear LSD either. The Galant VR4 RS Evolution edition i believe had a mechanical rear diff and open front diff.
    I had to put LSD in the rear of my 92 out of a 92-94 Talon, and had to add a Kaaz 1.5 way front diff. Not for torque steer, though. At 550+whp i never experienced "torque steer" to speak of.

    I own a 1991gvr4 1948/2000. I wanted this car back in the late 90s after seeing it destroy V8s back then in local races. I had my fun with mine...now my focus is restoring it and have it as a clean turn key reliable weekend collectors car with around 400awhp. I have gathered JDM parts through the years and continue to getting it to a clean look and removing some of the boy racer stuff I had in the past.

    I'm not 100% sure about the JDM stuff, but In the US none of these had front or rear LSD. They did all have a viscous LSD center diff. The reasoning behind not having a rear LSD is because the car has 4-wheel steering (not saying it wouldn't benefit from having one). I believe the only GVR4 with a front LSD was the RS model, which wasn't sold in the US.

    Former owner of 702/1000 and 221/1000 Iove these cars. I drove 702 daily for almost four years making over 300whp and it was an awesome experience I miss it dearly. Also suprised you didn't mention the instrument cluster colors. One of the only factory cars you can choose two colors for your backlighting

    so far, I've never driven a right-hand vehicle, but seeing how people are confused the blinkers and wiper locations think of this: blinkers will always be nest to the window and wipers will always be next to the center console.

    I wish I still had my 1987 Chevy spectrum turbo. Was a 're Branded Isuzu Gemini. Was a 5 speed fwd. Boxy like a shorter wheelbase 90s corolla. The body was so flimsy that it would lift a rear tire under hard cornering like a dog pissing on a tree. Lol but man that thing was so light, that when you hit boost, it would burn the tires off and hang with stock v8 muscle most of the time
    I miss that car. It was the best 300 bucks i ever spent.

    I own a 91 GVR-4... #1812. It was one of 3000 sold in the US ever.
    I've owned it for 22 years.
    I've worked as a Mitsubishi technician for 26 years.
