Having to stick shims on a device to put in a case just removes the ability to easily take it back out when you're at home and want the clean device. Just totally weird they'd make that choice on a super premium device.
LG V30+ (Stock player, hi-fi sound ON, stock bass gain EQ mode) stacked with Cayin C5 and Shure SRH1840. Sounds amazing! And you have relatively good and powerful android smartphone, all streaming services, + sd card support! Can play without C5, but this amp gives wider stage and crisper sound!

I'm definitely done with daps for now, I had the Sony, the fiio m7 and m6 and just was disappointed. Now I'm using a q1 mk2 with my phone and might upgrade to a chord mojo.
Even though the N8 sound is great the QA and overall details to attention on aesthetics really lets them down. If they corrected this problem they could be number one globally since the sound is really that great. Btw to avoid the button problems of accidentally pressing them there is a setting to disable the stop start button when in standby mode. I found I had to use this to stop the accidental pressing of the buttons when on.

I tried the same iems with n6ii and dx200(amp8). Nope M11 wins. I will compare with sp1000 tonight. I'm actually scared as I want the sp1000 to win but I'm thinking it may not. Like you, I spent £3000 :( On the plus side apparently fiio are going to release an m11 pro for only 20% increase in price.
You have any feelings about the M9. If it's just a matter of budget, do you think there's a lot I'll be missing out on if I go for the M9 instead of the M11? Or should I bite the bullet and spend the extra coin on the M11?
Battery life is decent depends on how you use it and screen on time and brightness levels. I am personally pulling down 9hrs with about 4hrs of that being screen on time with my usage.
@@markdavid5802 yeah it does I am used to it becuase I was previously using my phone for the most part. Sony does better with battery life and the Bluetooth is weak on the m11. Haven't tried it but I feel like Sony would do Bluetooth well. Chose the m11 over the wm1a becuase of the price difference and proprietary charge port on Sony.

Totally agree, felt an upgrade almost made the mistake of AK SP100 2.5k Canadian. Instead my stack is the Little Bear Vii tube amp + upgraded V5i Op amps stacks with the QLS 361 blisteringly brilliant sound, its just music music music.
It is not yet released unfortunately, but it has been confirmed by FiiO on th M11 thread on head-fi. They said it will be released around november and it will cost about 30% more than M11. I heard so many good things about THX, so I cant wait that thing to be released.

Im curious in trying the M11 with a Hum 4.4 balanced amp. My N8 SS I never changed the FW. N8 is only for listening to music. I agree its UI is basic and case I threw into the trash. But come on it does sound great.
I am surprised the M11 and BA300 are so good. The M11 sounds (stacked) better..the shims and return of the fish just ketchup on a shit sandwich. Who designed a case that needs shims??? What on Earth happened there?

I have the M11, partly after seeing your review and partly for its very respectable internal design. I absolutely love it and couldn't imagine spending so much more for a 1% improvement. I'm not even sure I would bother with the BA300S (that's what you have there right?) but at least it is an option for me. It sounds like the N8 isn't even giving you that despite the amazing hardware inside of it. Good return policy? ;)

I'm constantly amazed at how clunky, ugly and inelegant DAPs are. To my eyes, this Cayin is yet another example. That bronze-gold colour is gaudy and nasty, and the random triangle shape on the front is just so awkward and arbitrary. We see the same kind of inelegance from other manufacturers. FiiO seem to do the best job of mitigating those characteristics.

So when I stumbled on your channel..just liked your chill approach to explaining your opinions at your pace,like it or not,no? Fuck off then..that is when I believed you when you recommended or not. Also this is where I was made aware of the audiophile quality of dsd,flac,etc. Made an expensive dumb purchase based on a wrongly perceived credibility of someone...ok I really would love your opinion/ help or if anyone has strong ideas on what they would do, also much appreciated . My dilemma is I tried the fiio a5 in conjunction with my phone a Samsung s10+..and the bass boost was lousy most of the time on the dm7s, muddied the base,just really detracts from most stuff. The 6xxs were so under powered, but powered enough to really make me excited as to what they can sound like. I had an lgv20 that I used for its dac and that's when I first heard the distinct difference of a good flac file of pros and cons of hitchhiking..I only bought one at this point with the crap I'm working with. So I got an ifi dac amp,the nano idsd black label..it really improved the dm7s, I was pretty psyched at the review for the tin p1s and ordered them as another type of iem that seems to be getting rave reviews everywhere. But I still cant power the 6xx to any level of satisfaction ,so I rewatched the one on the $599model ifi..seemed much more versatile in sound stages and the base button was well received and the other..etc..I'm not clear on the balanced unbalanced thing. Like if you're headphones are or aren't or it's the setting your using or plug size? Idk.. anyway I just got the return label from Amazon and upgraded. Should be here today..but as I'm watching this video,im wondering, maybe I should go with a dedicated player and its amp..but don't really know which is better sound wise in the end with the 3 headphones I'll have..does the mk11 have the power and versatility of the ifi? What would you do if those were your choices. 600 is more than I could really afford at the moment, but after wasting whatever on fiio a5,and almost on 1st ifi.. I won't chince out on the the next purchase of one or the other . What do you guys think?
that might have been funny, except for the fact the man is on the hook for 3500 dollars.......It seems that sometimes , while the quality of the product and its basic functions are great, the finer details seems to be overlooked, is it that they don't product test for long enough, or at all....maybe it is just rushed to market... The sound is subjective/opinion and I do love it but the shims are just ridiculous. Everybody should get a new updated case for free instead of putting shims with 3M tape on the DAP. Or...the shims are built into the case NOT put on the DAP

They are well sygnery. Fantastic combo I would say. I tried them recently and will purchase the fh7 in a couple of days.
I don't recommend it. I bought both. Too much noise like zzzzzzz...... But the sound was ok if you dont mind the noise.

I had an lgv20 that I used for its dac and that's when I first heard the distinct difference of a good flac file of pros and cons of hitchhiking..I only bought one at this point with the crap I'm working with. So I got an ifi dac amp,the nano idsd black label..it really improved the dm7s, I was pretty psyched at the review for the tin p1s and ordered them as another type of iem that seems to be getting rave reviews everywhere. But I still cant power the 6xx to any level of satisfaction ,so I rewatched the one on the $599model ifi..seemed much more versatile in sound stages and the base button was well received and the other..etc..I'm not clear on the balanced unbalanced thing. Like if you're headphones are or aren't or it's the setting your using or plug size? Idk.. anyway I just got the return label from Amazon and upgraded. Should be here today..but as I'm watching this video,im wondering, maybe I should go with a dedicated player and its amp..but don't really know which is better sound wise in the end with the 3 headphones I'll have..does the mk11 have the power and versatility of the ifi? What would you do if those were your choices. 600 is more than I could really afford at the moment, but after wasting whatever on fiio a5,and almost on 1st ifi.. I won't chince out on the the next purchase of one or the other . What do you guys think?

that might have been funny, except for the fact the man is on the hook for 3500 dollars.......It seems that sometimes , while the quality of the product and its basic functions are great, the finer details seems to be overlooked, is it that they don't product test for long enough, or at all....maybe it is just rushed to market... Would a Japanese company have overlooked those flaws, I doubt it. .....I feel for you man....I'm sitting here watching this video, and I'm angry...
The sound is subjective/opinion and I do love it but the shims are just ridiculous. Everybody should get a new updated case for free instead of putting shims with 3M tape on the DAP. Or...the shims are built into the case NOT put on the DAP
@@BadGuyGoodAudioReviews agreed, it just seems a bit odd, SPEND 12/18 months to make a great (sounding) DAP, then Oh yeah, we need a case!!! and the fish, WTF...
