This song rocks and draws emotions more than most. Such vocal dynamic range and passion. Guitar works, chordings, voicings are fabulous. Drums awesome and powerful. Wtf happened to music not long after the 90s?!
this song never fails to take me right back to the summer it was released, shortly after i graduated high school. just an incredible song! i still have the cassette!
@@justinhaynes1085dude that song especially. I remember this being released maybe a few months earlier. And other songs like Seaweed ‘Start With’,, Naked by the goo goo dolls, Sick of Myself by Matthew Sweet, or Stars by Hum, there were so many around this time
I still love this brilliant song, it brings back memories of 1995 and all that was going on then. At the time I didn’t equate Summer with youth slipping away, but I do now.
Love this song and the video is awesome too. My cousin got to listen to these guys at UMass Amherst daily while all I got at BC was Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes. Shoulda went to UMass. Choose wisely kids.
In 2024, all over the Boston suburbs, you’ll see upscale properties for sale with the name Bill Janovitz on the for sale sign. The very Bill Janovitz of Buffalo Tom. Can’t image what life would have been like back in the day without Buffalo Tom.
Sight unseen, sadder seas Summer song sung all along Dragged across the seven seas To the beach come follow me Summer's gone a summer song You've wasted every day, every day Cellophane, grandma's town Summer's letters on the ground Seven pins, the fall begins When the leaves burn, summer ends Summer's gone a summer song You've wasted every day, every day Summer's gone, can't wipe it off my hands Write it in the sand, in the sand Where've my heroes gone today? Mick and Keith and Willie Mays Broken windows, trails outside I can take you for a ride Summer's gone a summer song You've wasted every day, every day Summer's gone, can't wipe it off my hands Write it in the sand, in the sand In the sand In the sand In the sand In the sand

"When the leaves burn, summer ends" such a good line. Buffalo Tom just nails the melancholy/nostalgia vibe so well in their songs
I was just 15 when this came out, and was utterly obsessed. Tonight I'm feeling nostalgic, this is a beautiful song.

I live in a small town in Italy and, believe me or not, Buffalo Tom meant a lot to me and to my closest (and coolest😁) friends...
D'accordo con te, questa canzone poi ricorda le mitiche estati dei 90, per chi ha avuto la fortuna di viverle
I'm from Bosotn area ( born in Poertugal ). I was very fortunate top havde seenthem live, while bombed!
Never got the recognition they deserved. Great band.
Agreed this album is great and very cool to hear while travelling (train, car)
That happened to a lot of these types of bands(alternative rock) in the 90s
Another example is Seaweed in my opinion.
Seaweed is the best band ever

One of the greatest songs ever written in human history!
Summer 1995... I feel like crying when I think of all the dreams I had at the time. Dreams that unfortunately did not come true...

Under rated killer band!
Ahhh, memories. I was a 20 year old kid jamming to this in my truck. Long awesome summer!
This, Dog's Eye View and the Refreshments are my 3 fav. 90s bands.
I love this song the moment I heard it.
the last "in the sand" is the icing on the pop cake....

I saw them open for Live during their Throwing Copper tour and still remember them passing this song.

Such an awesome song mean't so much to me when it came out and still does
Love this one too. Although we don't have summers in Ireland!
Thanks Buffalo Tom. What a song!
Cheers if you’re here ‘cause of Willie Mays . . . and Summer, of course.
It’s like a sequel to Husker du’s celebrated summer, and just as good!
This song and "Clobbered" are my favorites by Buffalo Tom
Wow, flashback to youth!
Damn brother in law leading me to greener pastures.
Sight unseen, sadder seas
Summer song sung all along
Dragged across the seven seas
To the beach come follow me
Summer's gone a summer song
You've wasted every day, every day
Cellophane, grandma's town
Summer's letters on the ground
Seven pins, the fall begins
When the leaves burn, summer ends
Summer's gone a summer song
You've wasted every day, every day
Summer's gone, can't wipe it off my hands
Write it in the sand, in the sand
Where've my heroes gone today?
Mick and Keith and Willie Mays
Broken windows, trails outside
I can take you for a ride
Summer's gone a summer song
You've wasted every day, every day
Summer's gone, can't wipe it off my hands
Write it in the sand, in the sand
In the sand
In the sand
In the sand
In the sand
I bought their first record in 1989 when I was 18 and I loved them since that day
