WE'RE MAKING IT OUT OF ANATOLIA WITH THIS ONE 🗣🗣🗣 4th gen is an era of armored core that I rlly want to return to (though Im too busy with Portable 3). I never really messed with hard mode outside of a few missions in each but playing an entire campaign in that difficulty comes off as being more rewarding than I thought. Especially since I always loved the worldbuilding in 4 particularly. It also took a while playing through both games to like how it felt to control compared to old gen and didnt mess around with builds till late game 4A sadly. Though for now I think PvP has helped remedy that mistake
OMG HACHI!! Hi! It's good to see you! Yeah the hard mode owns! It really made me appreciate the builds I had to make in both games, although later For Answer has some tough moments in a standard run. I need to get on that PvP...
Great video man, 4 gen really has the best worldbuilding of the series for me it's really interesting to see how corporations are the big focus instead of AI, and I really hope FROM explores this in different ways in future games of the franchise it helps to give a different flavor to the lore of the game. Now about the narrative of the games I think this leaves a lot to be desired for both 4 and 4A, many of the criticisms you made about 4 in the video regarding the story fit perfectly with 4A in my opinion (even though 4A did have a significant improvement). Regarding your video, I have a few thoughts on your interpretations of the endings of 4A, for me the two endings “League” and “ORCA” have more nuances than simply being the good ending and the bad ending, during the League ending the dilemma that Wynne poses is not about maintaining the status quo and the power of corporations but about saving lives of people who are here in the present, this for me is the great contrast with the ORCA ending, no matter how noble ORCA ideals are, their execution has a very high price to pay, if the Closed Plan is realized millions of lives will be sacrificed, but of course it will be to guarantee a better future but in the end you are still killing millions of innocent lives, and this is what Wynne questions Otsdarva when he says “These cowardly ideals. .. they will cause the downfall of humanity!” and she replies: ”Humanity? I don't see humanity anywhere, Otsdarva.” How do you want to save humanity if you're killing it in the process? Where's the humanity in that? People in the future should have the right to have a life, but shouldn't people who are living in the present also have that right? I'm not saying that the League ending is a better path, no matter how noble Wynne's intentions are, she will maintain a system that is insufficient and that in the end will condemn the very future of humanity. For me, the contrast of choices and their consequences are unfortunately quite tragic. Now leaving this moral dilemma behind there is another very complicated factor about these endings, during the video you comment that the League ending is the “corporate ending” since in the end no matter how noble Wynne's actions are she ends up leaving those who caused all this trouble still in power, but isn't the ORCA ending the same at the end of the day? The ones who will benefit most from the Closed Plan are Omer Science, there is evidence that they have been using ORCA from the beginning by making them do all the dirty work for them to carry out the Closed Plan, since the blame for killing millions of people to carry out the plan falls entirely on ORCA, Of course, in the end we can say that the ideas of saving humanity are still there, but just as in the League ending with the Wynne actions, the ORCA ending will end up benefiting the corporations since Omer just wanted someone to pull the trigger and open the door to a new frontier for them. For me, the ORCA ending is still the best way forward, but it's very clear for me that regardless of the two endings, we're just being used by corporations to fulfill their ambitions...
Thank you for the detailed comment! I view the Orca ending to not necessarily in orcas favor, cause I viewed their ultimate goal as eradicating all possible unknown variables, like in 4, while also creating an environment that would allow regular people to be more dependent on them via all of the destabilization and destruction, as well as spurring economic growth. The Orca endings consequences are really dire as well, but it’s ultimately the fault of corporations and their incessant need to have ultimate control and to wage war. The people in the Cradles are doomed in every ending, but at the same time that doesn’t necessarily mean that they deserve death, it’s still tough to make that decision. It’s a complex and bleak situation to be sure
i was wondering why this came up bc i dont remember subscribing until i saw the thumbnails on your other videos and remembered you're the AC super-video essay guy LETSGOOOOOOOOOOOOOO 4AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I personally love how ac4a took everything ac4 did and turn it up to 11. speed? crank that up and let the player FEEL the acceleration. For Answer is genuinely one of my favorite games of all time and I’m so happy you were able to do it and 4 justice. Every single person ever should watch this video.
I got into armored core quite recently, after I found out about armored core 6. I've always wanted a good mecha game, especially after watching a few gundam series but I could never seem to find any. Well, that is until now. I really like FA, I went into it just for the gundamesk mecha power fantasy but ended up getting more invested than I thought, the same with Armored core 6 As well. Its nice seeing so many people making content about armored core 4, it's kinda weird cause the videos never seem to get that many views, but that's not the purpose. This is clearly a passion project. I get the feeling you could make videos on more popular topics and get way more views, your voice sounds pretty well fitted for this kind of content. Really hate that white glint boss fight tho, I still can't beat it on hard, I guess Ill have to change my build, but idk.
I’m glad you can tell that this is a passion project, I put like over 4 months of myself into this video, and I’m eternally glad that people like the end result, even though I mainly make stuff because I like making said stuff lol ^_^
Posted this video RIGHT on my current 4th gen wave I’ve been on. Just picked myself up an Ambient model kit, I couldn’t be more ready to sit down for a two hour essay as I get to building 🫡
As always, you always deliver with your commentary. I love seeing your interpretation and this generation is no stranger as it's one of my favorites. I really appreciate the dedication you put into these videos and it really shows how passionate you are about this series! I also appreciate the summation you gave for the story as sometimes I got caught up in all the action. There's so much nuance and intrigue in this game and I'm glad you made those connections. Love the comedic beats like pointing out the pizza guy 😂 keep up the amazing work and I look forward to your next video, Brooke.
I've gotta say something in defense for the first ending. We didn't serve the corporations, we opposed them and after the battle us alongside Wynne D were executed by them, whatever future the stars might have hold I won't pave the way with the blood of innocents and thus I choose to die fighting for mankind, It might have been selfish but it is my answer.
I appreciate the different perspective about the League ending. While it’s in service for the corporations and I could never choose because of that, I get why one would choose it as sacrificing so many lives is such a horrific action, as much as I call Wynne D deluded in the video her character does make sense
@@CinnamonLyn I guess it's just as thermidor said, those cowardly ideals will cause the downfall of humanity. The corporations benefiting from that choice is a byproduct, but the same could be argued for the orca ending. Only difference is what you stand for
Since you didn't mention it in the video, here's a super cool detail that you might not know about: for the longest time I thought the Assault Cells were just a plot device mentioned in the narrative, which was fine and all, until I read that they are actually in the game and you can even see them! In all three missions on the Cradles (Take Back Cradle 21, and Defend/Destroy Cradle 03), if you start flying high up into the sky, eventually you'll start seeing the Assault Cells and they'll even begin firing, illuminating the sky with their lasers while Sumika comments on it! It's such a beautiful detail that pretty much everyone will just miss, but it's so amazing that it's actually in the game. Oh, and another thing - yesterday the RPCS3 emulator was updated with full compatibility with their emulated version of the PSN, and both AC4 and For Answer are fully playable online through that! Yesterday I went in a co-op mission in 4A with a friend of mine and it worked flawlessly, it's incredible what people managed to achieve on that emulator! :D
The quality and effort is DRIPPING from this video. Having binged all of your AC videos, Im impressed to see your increase in video editing skill. Good luck to your future projects, and GODSPEED!
I genuinely don’t know why siding with Old King is a choice so many people hate. With the way humanity is going in the game, and to an extent irl, we’re just gonna repeat the cycle of destruction. Why not give it a jumpstart? My answer is clear. And if y’all really think about it deep within yourselves, you’ll see yours matches mine.
Because the Orca path allows for a cycle break, freedom so humanity can continue without total destruction. Planting the seeds for the next generation, so that they can continue living, because life is precious. Why condemn everyone to an early death? Who is anyone to decide other peoples fates? This is a really doomer take, I hope you view the real world with more hope than the world of For Answer.
I think FA comes off as cynical enough to where I understand that sentiment. When you consider that ORCA in some way was compromised by Omer, which by far is the most sinister corporation to date it doesnt paint nessicarily a bright future. Orca also comes off as a bit hypocritical getting on old kings case when their plan will likely kill tens of millions while not nessicarily getting their hands dirty. These reasons are why Old King rebukes them in the final mission when he asks why they deserve to "choose who lives or who dies." In that sense it's a more nuanced version of Nexus' ending. In where unlike in its conclusion you're not being strung along. Doomed to follow the money trail to your death and causing a massive catastrophe beyond your imagination. You have actual agency and refuse corporations like Omer the chance to potentially poison whatever the future might hold. Though with that said I think this describes the grip I have with FA endings in that while each route does a solid job at painting a broader picture of FA's near un salvageable world, they're almost all so bleak (outside of Orca ending kinda) in retrospect that it's hard for care for what they embody ideologically. Which is one thing I think ACVI definitely improves on in my opinion
4v4? I was all about that 7v1. Sonic Boom and I became unstoppable until I lost internet access for a while due to living situations changing. I miss those days, and I cant help but feel like I never got to finish what I started. But... I will never forget that feeling. The feeling of falling into grace
I love the chaos of FFA matches, its always such a blast. I get the unstable internet access thing, I didn't have good enough access until well after the game was in its twilight years, so I never really ever got to play natural online. However if you have a decent PC, on the newest build of RPCS3 you can actually play online again! Co-op, Trading and Ranked all work! I know its not the glory days, but the game remains semi active on the AC discord, they have matches like every day if you're ever curious to jump in

Looking forward to the fifth gen review hope you had fun learning the new movement system in those games and didn't find yourself glued to the ground like a lot of new players unfortunately do those games have the potential for incredible mobility and high speed action if you just learn the complexities of building your AC and using the environment to your advantage
@@linkkicksu oh trust me, 5th gen freaking owns, I focus on its movement and building mechanics a lot in the next vid and I hope to do them at least a little justice
I regret watching this video. Not because the video is bad (I absolutely loved the video btw), its because I wanted to experienced those piece of arts myself. After I finished Elden ring and Sekiro, I was craving for more content out of fromsoftware and I found this music video of 20th anniversary "mechanized memories" remix which included a lot of scenes from intro armored core 4 answer. The music wasn't my taste but those cinematics absolutely got me into armored core series for me. I recently finished playing armored core 6 and it was spectacular as it held many lores and enjoyable characters but it wasn't what i was looking for. I recently found out the intro mech was legendary NEXT white glint from ac4a. I started digging more infos about ac4a, eventually I ended up with this video and it was amazing. I got so hooked into the video when I saw the transition from the movie to the title screen with the music "Someone is Always Moving on the Surface" and the white glint glares at me from the shadow. Now its one of my favorite game title screen of all time no doubt. Unconsciously my brain was listening to the whole lore of the game. I was absolutely enjoying the video until I found out that game is still playable in Emulators and my dumbass didn't even knew those stuff existed.😭 Hey atleast I know I can get to try the legendary game myself now Thanks dude
Thank you so much for the kind of words! The entire series can be emulated, there are plenty of good games to try out if you want to play them! While I think For Answer is the best one, some old gen games and Verdict Day are also amazing titles! So give them a shot if you wanna c:
AC6 is the most accessible and watered-down entry in the Armored Core franchise, and yet people STILL complain about its difficulty lmao. Imagine if FromSoft made it have the same depth as the older games.
Listen, I do like their older games more, but I feel like From Soft should make what they want to make, whether that be to cater to market trends or to make something else. I just wish they'd make their older games accessible. I feel like if you could buy any older AC game on modern platforms then you would probably see more people diving into their back catalogue. You can buy Eternal Ring on PS5! So like, why aren't any AC games on there? >_
For Answer is the easiest AC game lmao The only hard mission was Occupation of Arteria Carpals, and even then, you could just cheese it with White Glint's reg 1.0 missiles
Listen, they’re still fun! Try to avoid plasma back weapons and you should be okay, they can tank the frame rate to single digits. If you got the games for a good price then that’s still pretty cool! Have fun with them! ^_^
Thanks, don't worry... I've already built a mech which uses dual energy rifles, so I hope it is fine. On the other hand, what about the For Answer regulations for US PS3? Can I get em if my console isn't modded?
@@sailent4825 you’re good on those! The updates had parity on both consoles, it’s actually more accessible on ps3 for For Answer cause you don’t need to buy Xbox Live Gold to download them, the PS3 had free online! It should just be a pop up when you boot the game if you’re connected to the internet c:
The story of AC4 is "lacking" beacuse the translation was poorly made, a lot of things got cut, if I'm not mistaken, you should've been talking with O'brien through the radio way earlier in the game and a lot of details of the lore probably are talked about too, but... It is what it is and we should at least be Grateful that the same didn't happen to FA
I don’t remember hearing any extra dialogue in my JP playthrough, but I did play it a few months ago, so my memory could be fuzzy. While extra dialogue might help, I feel like my criticisms of the story would still be valid, but don’t take the vid as gospel. This video is just my opinion after all ^_^
I did some research! (Val told me lmfao) Both versions had a ton of voiced content cut, so both versions are lacking a lot of that detail. It’s a shame, cause some of it is pretty cool
man I wanna play these 2 games so bad, sad that they're so rare. yeah I know there are, ahem, "other" ways of getting access to them, but with these 2 games it's a bit harder than with everything from AC 1 thru Last Raven
7th gen emulation straight up runs on my Steam Deck, you might be surprised what you can get away with. But yeah, these games deserve to be more accessible and it’s a shame they are so spendy. They didn’t used to be! I bought my current copy in like mid 2018 for like 5 dollars, it just ballooned in price because of the existence of AC VI. But that’s another topic for another day c:
Only partway through so far, but really good video. Glad I found this channel, planning on watching the rest of your vids sequentially once I finish this one. Out of curiosity, what did you use to play the games? Emulation? If so, what did you use for each game? I'm looking to play older AC games but am unfortunately not very tech savvy so I'm trying to find the best avenues to do so with.
I mainly played the console versions cause I owned them from way back when, but Duckstation for PS1 and PCSX2 for the PS2 games run great for every AC game on those platforms. I actually cover the options for 4th gen near the end of the video, and that same advice applies to 5th gen as well! Hope this helps, thanks for the compliments c:

Though there are pilots that have achieved higher speeds now. I do have a video on my channel showcasing my speed if you wanna check it out. It's my most popular video to date
Looking forward to the fifth gen review
hope you had fun learning the new movement system in those games and didn't find yourself glued to the ground like a lot of new players unfortunately do
those games have the potential for incredible mobility and high speed action if you just learn the complexities of building your AC and using the environment to your advantage
@@linkkicksu oh trust me, 5th gen freaking owns, I focus on its movement and building mechanics a lot in the next vid and I hope to do them at least a little justice

I'm dying, i waited so much for this video
I’m so sorry for the wait! I hope it’s worth the wait
I was absolutely enjoying the video until I found out that game is still playable in Emulators and my dumbass didn't even knew those stuff existed.😭
Hey atleast I know I can get to try the legendary game myself now
Thanks dude
Thank you so much for the kind of words! The entire series can be emulated, there are plenty of good games to try out if you want to play them! While I think For Answer is the best one, some old gen games and Verdict Day are also amazing titles! So give them a shot if you wanna c:
A two hour analysis on my favorite game of all time, and not even a minute in and I hear, the mf ost to Enchanted Arms-
this is gon be lit af 😤
Holy shit you’re a real one!! Heck yes,,
I'll be sure to watch this after I'm done with AC4. Gen 3 is still in the works.
Hell yeah, take your time ^_^
I love your videos! You put so much effort into them
Thank you!! I hope that effort reflects in quality ^_^
I watched al your other AC video in prep for this one .
Yoooo! Thanks so much!
not really, AC4 is easier
For Answer is the easiest AC game lmao
The only hard mission was Occupation of Arteria Carpals, and even then, you could just cheese it with White Glint's reg 1.0 missiles
AC6 is the most simplistic but not the easiest
4A is the easiest by far, it's just a power fantasy
Huh, I totally missed the mission to start the Orca path. I guess Ill have to go through it again.
It's a quick playthrough, so have fun! ^_^
greatest 2 hour video for new ravens
Whoh, that means a lot, thank you!
PEAK TIME BABY!!!
Thank you Blight ^_^
Great video. Looking forward to the one for 5th Gen !
You and me both, hope I can convince people to give 5th Gen a second chance cause those games own
Greetings

More views! Get this man MORE VIEEEWS!!
I appreciate the enthusiasm ^_^
I recently got the US PS3 versions of both games for a decent price, so I'll be playing those since I've got no other way to do so.
This video is just my opinion after all ^_^
@@CinnamonLyn yes, I know, but great vídeo as always, watching them just makes me want to play AC so much
I did some research!

Hey.
amen amen amen amen amen amen gospel amen
I’d go back to church if the preacher was a Xbox 360 copy of For Answer
@@CinnamonLynI just wanna say, great review! Was extremely captivating all throughout.
Thank yoooouuuu ^_^
keep up the amazing work! you deserve way more for these videos!
I make this videos in my free time for fun, I’m consistently shocked people resonate with them and I’m really glad because of it >w
I cannot wait for the VD video! nothing will ever ever ever scare the shit out of me more than the mechanised memories mission
Oh trust me, I will be VERY positive on 5th gen, love those games as well ^_^
