This was one of my favourite scenes ever, because it shows the TRUE master, he's horrible, but can be really sassy and fun, yet this 'fun' side only slightly covers the evil underneath him. and i think it really shows in this scene
AHHHHH THEY CUT IT???? EURGH Well, I guess I'll have to download it to watch it again (if I don't already have it). Can you tell me which episode (and season) this was from? Edit to add: Never mind, I found it further down!
He's from Scotland but he puts on an English accent for doctor who. That's why they made him say "judoon platoon upon the moon" in the first ep of series 3 cause it was really tricky for him to say in his English accent
in case you haven't noticed, I posted this comment a month ago, BEFORE all the Dark Water craze started. I still love the Master, and i think the woman who plays him/her now is AWESOME don't get me wrong, but I just don't have a lez crush on her *clear? and by the way, grow up.*
What? Yeah freak out now what the hell did I do wrong? I didn't say the woman was not great or anything. Seems to me you're the one who should grow up if you get so angry over a little joke -.-
***** sorry, guess i took the tone wrong. no need to get angry at me now, it was a misunderstanding, there is no reason to rant on about why i shouldn't be mad at you and how i should grow up.
I always wondered how actors memorize those long ass scripts. But when you look how much times you actually need to repeat everything it starts to look like that memorizing the script isn't the hardest part. :D
I loved him as the Master... I understand how the previous incarnations looked more like a "Master" but it's interesting how just like the Doctor's incarnations, the Master's incarnations grew younger as well, almost as if it was a Time Lord thing like Benjamin Button. I feel like Simm really portrayed someone you would think as a Master in a different way... I don't know, I can't fully put my finger on it
Hahaha I love the way David describes his role as the Doctor! xD "Usually I'm the one who's spouting pages of stuff at 300 miles an hour while everybody else kind of... stares at me." xD
I thought it was because it was the song, it's got swearing in it and if little kids wanted to download the song after hearing it on Dr who, then stupid parents would complain. I am pissed that this scene is now cut out!
I forgot about the Doctor's tent I guess, so when I saw David crawling into that little teepee during filming I cracked up, I thought he just had a little tent to hang out in haha
well the master's dance is gone and apparently some stuff was cut after 9's regeneration. its never much and usually you'd never really notice its gone but it's the little things that make the show special.
For anyone who is still wondering whether they will bring the Master back: He's the Master. He was/is part of the show for 40 years. He always came back from the dead :D
Steven Moffat has gone on record as saying he has no intention of bringing back the Master in any future stories. He feels that his story was sufficiently brought to a fitting close in "The End of Time". He has lied in the past about aspects of the show but considering that the character didn't return during Matt Smith's tenure it would seem unlikely. That's not to say of course that he won't ever resurface as whoever eventually takes over from Moffat when he steps down as executive producer might have different plans.
Omg, I just noticed 1:20 when John 'throws' the cup away and then places it on the board, dunno why but it looks funny. I would've accidentally smashed it anyway, this is why I'll never be an actor XD
So strange the Master dance is missing on Netflix now. When I first watched in on Netflix last year that scene was there. They actually removed it recently. I can't believe they did that, I have no idea why.
Hmm, I'll be honest with you that I did assume Ainsley's and Roberts age based on I guess Ainsley's beard and I don't even remember assuming anything about Roberts so thank you for pointing both out... I am kind of a new Whovian, but the Classic series story does intrigue me although I have not really had the time as of yet to watch the ones that are available. I guess I meant that Simm seemed a little more childish?(That's also an assumption because again, I haven't seen Ainsley's or Roberts
"the choreography for me was relatively straightforward" really, i thought that david's choreography looked pretty challenging, he's just being modest.
netflix edits a lot of things. I once looked up the Street Fighter with Sonny Chiba and they totally edited some of the best scenes in the film. I found a cheap copy on a martial arts movie collection and not only was it in its entirety, but it was widescreen and had the sequel on the same disk. Keep your DVDs people... Netflix is clearly not the future.
When I saw this episode, I wasn't listening that closely to the song, and I thought it kept saying "genocide" instead of "I can't decide". Sometimes I think that I'm the most retarded person in the world.
Some anime fan told me the Master was crappy as a villain. I told him at least he gets to tap some ass at the end of the day, and isn't fooling themselves.
John Simm's portrayal of the Master is excellent, he gives the character a megalomaniacal edge.
Excellent piece of acting.
"And I just sat there looking old" -David Tennant
12AzaA1 best doctor there ever was
"Throws the cup away"
Next shot John casually puts the cup down.
John Simm was probably one of the best Masters. He just had that thing in his character that made it so you just couldn't hate him.
I seriously just need a loop of the elevator door opening and John Simm being there smirking like he was X"D
This was one of my favourite scenes ever, because it shows the TRUE master, he's horrible, but can be really sassy and fun, yet this 'fun' side only slightly covers the evil underneath him. and i think it really shows in this scene
He goes for the shoe slide as much as he can, I love him.
I am positively nuts about this song and it's perfect for The Master! Netflix is a bastard for cutting it.
AHHHHH THEY CUT IT???? EURGH Well, I guess I'll have to download it to watch it again (if I don't already have it). Can you tell me which episode (and season) this was from?
Edit to add: Never mind, I found it further down!
That was just on Netflix?! I only watch shows on Netflix, so when I saw this, I thought they had just cut this from everything!
oh i just love John Simm :') He's so cuteeee and lovely ♥ and perfect master!!!
The thing about him being like a teenager in his room was so fitting, I laugh at that every time I remember it.
UltimaFangirl I was going to argue and then I realized that I'm sitting in my room singing along agressively
He's from Scotland but he puts on an English accent for doctor who. That's why they made him say "judoon platoon upon the moon" in the first ep of series 3 cause it was really tricky for him to say in his English accent
I am so in love with the Master I freakin love him with both of my hearts
Oh you like the master? Did you watch the newest episode already? If not I guess I just got you very exited :P
in case you haven't noticed, I posted this comment a month ago, BEFORE all the Dark Water craze started. I still love the Master, and i think the woman who plays him/her now is AWESOME don't get me wrong, but I just don't have a lez crush on her

This song is perfect for the scene haha XD
nvm, they took this whole scene out of the episode on netflix... so I never saw it to begin with. What else have I missed if this masterpiece was cut?
It broke my heart to see David looking like that and being treated like an animal. My heart went out to the Doctor, I was upset.
The Master is like Moriarty, you can't hate him. No matter what he has done, you just can't.
This is some of the best Doctor Who ever.
Hahaha I love the way David describes his role as the Doctor! xD "Usually I'm the one who's spouting pages of stuff at 300 miles an hour while everybody else kind of... stares at me." xD
They cut that whole scene out when it played on WTTW channel 11. I was livid.
copyright probably

two people sat there looking old.
3 now.
John Canary yeah, it doesn't matter. it was two when i wrote it.
I love David in the background at 1:42 "IIII'm just gonna get back in my tent..." XD
I had no idea this was in the episode...
Netflix must have cut it out, which is a shame, because it seems like an amazing scene.
They did cut it out so sad great scene
For some reason this makes me insanely happy.
well the master's dance is gone and apparently some stuff was cut after 9's regeneration. its never much and usually you'd never really notice its gone but it's the little things that make the show special.
"I just sat there looking old." that sir is the best line ever!
The way David says "stuff"
In the final cut, he does throw the cup down, smashing it.
I just love this episode of Doctor Who.
For anyone who is still wondering whether they will bring the Master back: He's the Master. He was/is part of the show for 40 years. He always came back from the dead :D
Daleks too.

Robert McElwaine Moffat lies lol.
;) My point stands :D
Well I did say unlikely, not definite.
:D Probably my most favourite scene in Doctor Who. It's brilliant. I miss the Master, he was so much fun T_T
On Watch they cut this scene out because of advert time. I was majorly pissed off, this scene is one of my favourites!
HOLY CRAP I DIDN'T KNOW THAT SONG WAS ON DOCTOR WHO xD
I loved that song even BEFORE I watched Doctor Who
Woah
Thanks for posting. Interesting to know. Love this episode too.
The DVD has everything.
I just sat there looking old.
best line in the video.
"I just kind of sat there looking ooold." I love his accent :D
Oh, my lovely, lovely John Simm
El nombre de la canción es "I can't decide", que se muestra en la descripción del vídeo. :)
I. FREAKING. LOVE. THIS. SCENE.
aw John is so cute c:
yeah, that song has been stuck in my head for a fucking long time now....
Imagine being on that set hearing that song 100 times that day 0.o
To be honest, your version fitted the episode better :)
"y'know, you DO come down some steps, there."
The struggle is real.
i had tears when the doctor become impossibly old in a cage
1:45 davids just goin into his little tent
He is too much of a loveable villain to hate!
David Tennant is so funny.
Omg, I just noticed 1:20 when John 'throws' the cup away and then places it on the board, dunno why but it looks funny. I would've accidentally smashed it anyway, this is why I'll never be an actor XD
Gotta Love David's accent :D :D
That's it. I'm in love with a villain. AGAIN. For fuck's sake...
Jon Simm is such a talented actor.
"and I just sat there looking old...."
So strange the Master dance is missing on Netflix now. When I first watched in on Netflix last year that scene was there. They actually removed it recently. I can't believe they did that, I have no idea why.
(Jesus fucking christ i love David Tennant's accent

After watching this Video I immediately went to iTunes and bought that song! ^_^
They're probably using the BBCAmerica version, which cut the episode down to 40 some-odd minutes.
Netflix doesn't show the song scene. Just went back to see because I don't remember this.
I love that song :3
martha's mums just like 'why can't I be sat in a chair being spun around'
I know their age, dear.
But they still young as Simm. Their features count.
I didn't realize those were prosthetics! I thought they got an older actor for that bit!
If the master comes back when Capaldi is the doctor, I want Jack Dee as the master...
Indeed!
love John Simm, love the Master.
Grrr this scene is cut from netflix
I wonder if they ever got tired of listening to that song...
No longer sure if I think anime or Doctor Who when I hear this song now xP
At least it's a good, catchy song.
I don't remember seeing this scene in the episode... did it get deleted?
No, It was there.. Maybe you missed it :) 3:15 into the last of the time lords :D
Alenka Spruk Try Netflix, it's not there =(
I can't try netflix because (as awful as that is) It's not available in my country :( I'm watching it on here: allnewepisodes.com/p58/Doctor-Who/
Alenka Spruk Oh my, this may come in handy... thanks!
yes
They bring back every villain, they should bring back the Master and with steven they would make an amazing story for how he revives himself.
***** I read somewhere that RTD and all of his short attention span-y glory will be back for Series 8 and the Master might be back, so who knows?
they actually did in the david tennant specials
what???? what special was this.
I did too when I watched that episode!
Oh my gosh haha David Tennant got some good prosthetic's
"the choreography for me was relatively straightforward" really, i thought that david's choreography looked pretty challenging, he's just being modest.
xD He just had to sit there and look old
yeah they have up to season 6 but apparently they cut stuff out here and there *grumble grumble*

FAV SCENE
EVA
Do they? I have the episodes on DVD and haven't noticed netflix left anything out. My DVDs are US region though. Is it possible it was edited as well?
thankyou! =)
Andrew Scott (aka Jim Moriarty) would've been PERFECT for the role as the Master
The next Master should be the guy who played Moriarty in Sherlock!
I Can't Decide - Scissor Sisters :)
Why is that song so freaking catchy?
Because John Simm is awesome.
What is the time (00:00) of this in the episode? On both Netflix and iTunes I can't find it! Thanks for any help :)
Its not in the series its set up as a special I believe just search "Doctor Who" and it'll give you a bunch of specials and the series and such.
So cute at 2:56 the master is cool and John is hot !!!!
Lucky Miss Moen.
They have all of them except for Series 7.
true, true.
I wonder how many times he got to kiss Alexandra Moen. Lucky bastard.
I would vote for Saxon...
They took that scene out on netflix, I think
