In this case, the arguing about cheating has to do with the refrigerator being open. Also, people try to forget and avoid confrontations when it's about heavy stuff like children or cheating, so they focus their anger on the small things, to 'dose off' the anger bit by bit. They defineately don't get less upset about refrigerators than they do about cheating, believe me. And if any of you two think it's otherwise, you have never understood another person.
