During high school, in the early 70’s, I made a skirt out of old neckties. I used to buy old men’s and women’s suits and redesign them. I am in my 60’s and my fashion taste has always been avant-garde.
I have always danced to my own drumbeat.

Great stuff. Margiela also offers free sloper/base patterns to get people started creating their own designs. I think it may have been for some sort of contest or something.

Really wanna do see more study on the relationship between popular fashion and military issue clothing. Went to the World War 2 museum in New Orleans a while back, and the parallels between old uniforms and stuff I see people wear every day is so crazy.

Great video as always! One thing that always bothers me though is when Martin Margiela‘s Name is confused with the word Maison which basically just stands for the fashion house (Maison=House). The word has nothing to do with his name. Nevertheless, looking forward to the next video!
Thank you! Are you talking about my use such as "The maison's use of...?" If so, I think a lot of people prefer to say the house or the team since there is such an emphasis on group work. Even as far as de-emphasizing the individual.
