you can't chain off with this stitch. You have to lift the presser foot and gently pull the garment back or forward about 4 inches from the last stitch on the garment and then cut the stitches. Then remove 2 threads by observing which ones are loose simply by pulling them out. Place all threads to the back of the machine again then you can sew another seam.
