In this video, we take a look at the edge of the solar system and beyond, as we follow the paths of five probes destined to explore the space between the stars, Interstellar space. Which is your favourite Interstellar probe? Let me know below! Have a great day and I'll see you on the next video! V

I love astronomy, and seeing these exploits these probes done/continue to do, is nothing short of amazing. Whenever the day comes for the Voyagers and New Horizons to run out of power, I'll be completely heartbroken, especially the Voyagers. I would love for a national holiday in honor of these probes and their achievements.

I agree. I will also be sad and heartbroken when the Voyagers will run out of power and 'die' in the darkness of interstellar space. But, when that day comes, we should try to remember all the achievements and revelations about the gas planets that these probes have completed/revealed. So yes, there should be a holiday!

Or they could just be used as target practice by the Klingons!

Can you imagine the outcry if we actually sent up the Voyager probe with a golden plate outlining the male/female human form except we blurred out the dicks & tits on the golden plate itself? If aliens ever found it, they would think we had blurry or fuzzy and diffuse genitals. Or worse, they'd think we were a bunch of prudish snowflakes and would therefor be an easy planet to invade and conquer without us putting up a fight.

Pluto was not "demoted". Actually, one could view it as a kind of promotion: Pluto's reclassification changed it from being some peoples' favorite planet to becoming pretty much everyone's favorite dwarf planet. How many people (other than nerds like myself) can name 5 other dwarf planets off the top of their heads? Pluto did not meet all 3 criteria, and that is ok. We can now proclaim Pluto as the monarch of the dwarf planets, and let the whole reclassification argument go. My 2 cents.

If the aluminum plaque showing the 2 human figures, along with the other artifacts that were also sent in the sent space probes are ever found by intelligent beings it would be in the distant future, possibly long after humans and other life forms are no longer alive on planet earth due to natural or human-caused circumstances, it would be the equivalent of us finding traces of prehistoric creates that lived on earth millions of years ago. It would be interesting to see what whoever finds those artifacts on the space probes would say about us.

Alot of ppl dont realize these machines are some of the fastest things ever created. Then people question how have they not hit an asteroid its because thats how big space is they're literally moving in empty voids people dont realize asteroids are like 200 miles apart most of the time

It's sad that Pioneer 1 and 2 are dead and can't communicate with Earth anymore. I'm also surprised that Voyager 1 and 2 are still operating billion light years away. I wonder what's going happen to the probes when they have ran out of fuel? If they somehow get discovered by a Alien Civilization then they might be able to find us and hopefully they come in peace and they don't want to cause any harm to us.

Apparently the aliens are much more mature than us humans. For some reason, we viewers need to be protected from such graphic caricatures? Cannot believe that the makers of this video, felt the need to censor the images?

    • @V101SPACE

The censor is in place to prevent the video from violating TH-cams nudity policies, not to protect you.

@@V101SPACE - Then Google/TH-cam is specifically targeting you (a little over cautious)? The same image is clearly displayed on other non age-restricted TH-cam channels/videos, considered educational. I assume you would rather not fight TH-cam’s AI routines, but in this case, if targeted, you would easily win any appeals, since this is clearly educational. Once I encountered the self-censorship, I stopped watching the video, because I thought it was a slap in the face. Of course others could care less.

I do not make videos to fight TH-cams AI. In fact, I appreciate the platforms attempts to prevent offensive videos from being uploaded, while understanding that they can make mistakes, especially when over 30,000 hours of new content is uploaded every hour. My videos never cover offensive material, however, I did not want to risk the takedown of this video over an already controversial image, no matter how minor it is. I respect your opinion, and you may well be right, I possibly could have appealed it and won the claim, but I do not believe that it was worth risking. The point of the video is to remind people of our everlasting ambition to explore beyond our horizon, and why that matters. Not to fight a company policy, no matter how much people do not agree with it. On the other side of the coin, I have clearly caused you offence by blurring the image, and that was not my intention, so it seems I am in a "no win situation". If you stopped watching the video after the blurred image, then that is disappointing and I'm sorry you felt offended. V

@@V101SPACE - I blame TH-cam way, way more than I blame you. The amount of violence and vulgarities, that are allowed, in the non-restricted TH-cam videos and resulting comments, is still staggering. Then this simple little caricature is considered what is bringing us down? TH-cam’s priorities are in the wrong place and replacing human monitoring, with AI monitoring, is a bigger mistake, than the video itself. We continue the dumbing of America, for the sake of efficiency. My mistake was attacking the author and not directing my attack towards the source of the problem; Google/TH-cam. I owe you an apology for making a huge mountain, out of a very tiny molehill. Obviously you care, where TH-cam could really care less. Note: I will be surprised if the TH-cam AI doesn’t take this comment down, because of the word ‘attack’ being used.
