    Considering Uranus and Neptune have only ever been visited once, I thought it would be interesting to make a video about the fascinating discoveries Voyager 2 made as it passed the distant ice giants. So sit back, relax and immerse yourself into a 43 year old story about an amazing spacecraft and two mysterious planets! V

      Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 are by far our most successful spacecraft. We have learned so much from these little guys and I presume we'll learn more as they trek on out of the solar system, Godspeed Voyagers.

      Are the black and white photos the ones that were originally taken and then enhanced? I was just wondering where we have gathered the other information to show these more detailed images of the distant planets, their rings and the moons orbiting them....It's amazing that all of them have been discovered to have rings! The little knowledge we non-science field people have is that Saturn is the only one that has rings in our solar system. (Or at least for me, this was news.)

    • @knowledgetrapper
      @knowledgetrapper 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@maddiej.5691 I too used to believe that Saturn is the only ring planet in the solar system, but when after I meet V101, everything changed :)
      And...All the satellites or telescope use to capture black and white photo due to some wavelength advantage... and after collecting data about light or which element is present where, scientist fill it with colours with some supercomputers... (as far as I know) :)

    Voyager 1 and 2 are awesome spacecrafts. Voyager 1 and 2 were set on different paths, and now both twin spacecrafts are in interstellar space. We don't know the fate of these spacecrafts. Voyager 2 was the only spacecraft to visit the ice giants, Uranus and Neptune, and because of Voyager 2 and observations from Hubble Space Telescope is how we know much about the two ice giants.

    The last 50 years has seen such an incredible acceleration of technology and NASA has led the way. Manned missions,, unmanned probes, telescopes and more. However, the VOYAGER probes stand apart IMO. They have been remarkable in so many ways. They have expanded our reach and our knowledge like no other program and their incredible longevity is amazing. To this day I am astounded by the amount of data they have given us.

    I went to the NASA website to see the pictures voyegar took and they were mesmerising. Specially, the Neptune. Gorgeous!!
