How to remove silicone / mastic from brickwork

How to remove silicone mastic from brickwork.
First remove as much silicone as possible with a sharp scraper then with a drill and this attachment you can easily remove the rest.

I like your idea but one problem i have , i had a second outside door taken out as we had New inner double glazed door & side widows put in. I have this same issue of the silicone but it's not on brick it's on sandstone , i have no clue how to remove it as the sandstone will be highly marked if i did this . It's a block of sandstone sides and across the top and looks a mess and a light colour so i don't want to use a chemical as it might discolour it too.

Two things I would try... If the sandstone is mostly flat I would use a window scraper with a razor sharp blade to try and remove as much as possible keeping the angle as flat to the sandstone as possible
Or
Buy a rubber eraser wheel from Amazon that goes in a drill and see how that goes. You will need good drill control for this method.
Both methods together could be good if the silicone is quite thick. Remove as much as possible with the blade then use the rubber eraser wheel.
Obviously I've never tried this before so can't guarantee it will work but thats what I would try.

Try a non metal brush head drill attachment. I think they are a fiberglass or some such material, its still abrasive but its NOT METAL.
