You can adjust the auto poweroff time on the Magnifica and also change the temperature, you need the manual to know which buttons to press but it does the job. Have been using ESAMs at work and home for 15years and always would buy them again.
Yeah I have loved mine I gave it to my parents a while back but that thing just keeps chugging along

I have the Tk-01 and have been very pleased with it. Also you can make 2 drinks at once, it goes through 2 grind cycles. Yes the pucks are smaller which results in a shot of espresso a bit less robust. That is a function of the auto brew unit on the machine. There is no way to change that. For the convenience in the morning the TK-01 cannot be beat. After the initial warms up, just put your mug or cup under it, press the button of what you want and you are out the door. i have found it helpful to prewarm the milk about 30 seconds in the microwave. If you are going for a latte or cappuccino. The result is a hotter drink since you are not standing there with a pitcher and a frothing wand. The company is great, answering my email questions very quickly.
Yeah terra is a great company for sure they answer phone calls super fast as well.

I’d probably stick with the terra if you wanted to go all out on a super auto id look at the Breville oracle (it’s kinda super automatic) or the delonghi dinamica but honestly the terra is a great buy for the money

When making hot water with the Terra Kaffe does it ask you for water temperature before confirming? I understand that the default water temperature can probably be changed in the settings, but for the purpose of making tea, a different water temperature will be required for each cup depending on the type of tea. And for this it'd be much easier if it asked right after selecting hot water. Does it do that?
It does not unfortunately but that’s a pretty good idea. I will say you can program the Americano temp to be different then the hot water temp

How many drinks can you make successively on the TK before cleaning it out? Do you have to clean out the grounds or filter or whatnot after each drink? Hopefully you can make a few in a row
Yeah don’t have to clean it out after every drink. What I have noticed is after about 7 to 14 shots of espresso you will need to empty the grounds bin. The water filter is optional only use if you have harder water in my opinion. There auto ports filter can be removed but I would only clean that out when the machine says to descale and clean
Thanks for reviewing! Darn. Was about to buy a TK.. But, for the price, having to run a tube in a glass of milk or thermos seems kind of… How can i put this without saying trashy.. Not glamorous? I could probably put myself in denial while doing it if the coffee is good, I suppose.
Well I will say the delonghi isn’t much better since it’s a panarelo and not a real steam arm but I get where your coming from
you don't "have to" use their thermos thingy. You can use a milk carafe , carton, or jug and change out the hose to one with a hose and straw. You'll have to extend the milk time in your drink settings to allow for the longer feed but that is easily done. Last time I checked it was 5 dollars on the TK website for an extra hose with a single plug if you want to hold onto the original 2 plug hose, and a 5mm stainless drinking straw fits snugly on the other end. I personally got tired of transferring milk and just use the jug for personal use and break out a carafe when guests are over.
I have the Breville barista I love it, but I'm looking for something a little stronger
When you say stronger do you mean something with stronger steam or built with stronger materials
Hey dude, I’m about to order either the Terra Kaffe TK-01 or the Philips 3200/4300. What is honestly a better machine between the two? They seem pretty similar.
Do the terra kaffe I have had the Philips and it’s ok but the terra kaffe is more flexible and has a better interface with much more programmability

its very possible I will be ordering the new tk02 but it won't be out till spring so we have a minute

The delonghi doesn’t let you set temperature but if you watch my full review of the Terra kaffee I break down the different temps. My feeling is that it’s not super tightly controlled because the temp jumps by increments of around 10 so it’s nice you have control but you can’t expect a super super tight temp for this type of machine and at this price range

How is the terra kaffe performing after a year of use? I have read a lot of reviews online about the machine having problems after a couple of months of use. I'm thinking about buying one but I don't know if I should go with the terra kaffe or get the lattego 3200 for the same price. Any advice?
That’s a hard decision. They are very similar. But the new tk02 is just around the corner and it might be worth it over the latte go. I personally wasn’t a huge fan of the Phillips 2200 and they both work on the same brew unit and general setup

Yeah seems interesting but I’m not sure I’m sold on the company they seem to be dead set on you buying into the coffee they sell to get better quality coffee. Also the idea of centrifugal coffee is pretty new so I think it might need more iterations before it’s perfect

@@JoeyVaracalli my situation is that I wanted to buy a high end espresso machine and it was within my budget (like a profitec pro 700) but then my family and I decided we wanted to use that money to set up our third bedroom as a hobby room. So I'm looking at these GE profile machines for the convenience and price. They seem sleek and I'll probably hold onto it until I get a profitec and just keep the GE near my PC set up 😅

The pro will end up making you way better espresso and milk texture but you do kinda have to learn how “dial in espresso” and some techniques for texturing milk. If you take the time to learn though it’ll be way better

Nice yeah it’s pretty good still not nearly as good as a lelit Bianca or really any e61 group head based machine but for a more consumer grade thing delonghi does great

Well I’d say they are pretty similar but the terra is a bit easier since the interface is a bit better and walks you through cleaning cycles and such

As a previous owner of an ena 6 I don’t think jura gets that much better of a shot considering the massive jump in price. So my vote goes in the terra bucket

You got the spinn? Do you believe the centrifugal system can be better to make coffee?
There are a few of company’s that do centrifugal such as the new nespresso capsule system “virtuo” I’m alittle conflicted to be honest I’d like to try a spinn before I determine but something about spinn makes me think it’s more talk then amazing coffee. But who knows I don’t want to make a judgment till I try it.

@@nanopineiro are you looking for a super automatic like these machines? If so I’d go with these over the spinn…. The spinn creates foam not really crema so if you want closer to an espresso machine setup I’d go in that direction.
You right and also I don’t like the milk frosting option of the spinn , other ones make it really everything

hi, we are looking for a machine that does coffee and espresso that has a grinder. As this is a year old review of the terra kaffe, would you still recommend this or delonghi, or something else. My wife and I drink roughly two cups each a day and we have a nespresso, but want something better that is also easy to use. Much appreciated
yeah i think both machines are super great if you value just coffee and espresso i’d go delonghi if you like easy quick milk based drinks i’d go with the terra kaffe

No not really you can ice espresso and get a similar experience buts it’s definitely not cold brew

Honestly I still don't know which super automated machines better than Gaggia classic pro or lelit Bianca. There is not great understanding level content videos for pro consumer level. Until I will learn I will keep using my Gaggia classic pro with mignon grinder.

@@JoeyVaracalli Yes even the older Jura machines (since 1994) can make stronger espresso than either one. If you somehow get a newer Jura (best would be E8), you should compare the Tk-01 to the E8. They have similar features.

@@JoeyVaracalli Sorry, I forgot. The ESAM does make stronger coffee, because it can grind fine and it doses 6-12g of coffee. The TK, I'm not sure about, probably 5-10g. The Jura machines dose 5-16g.
And the E8 has the Pulse extraction process, which cuts back the 15 bar pressure for longer espresso brewing.

They are all made in China. Most all super automatics are even brevilles are made in China

Hi. I have a gaggia babila, but it has broken twice so I am looking for another machine. I love very strong black coffee, rich espresso and want to be able to make cappuccinos (less concerned about time it takes to make but want it foamy). How do these two compare to the babila? Any other recommendations for automatic machines?
Well I think the terra kaffee would be closer in capability. I will say the delonghi does produce slightly stronger Espresso as the grinder is slightly better in terms of control and gives slightly larger doses
I have a Miele CM6350. It has also broken twice. I am thinking about a Jura ENA 8 or the TK1.

I am now packing up my second TK-01 to return. The first machine arrived DOA and was returned immediately. The second machine worked well for the first week, but now is no longer frothing milk properly, if at all. I really wanted to love this machine for two reasons: 1. It’s as close to fully automatic as an espresso machine can be, and 2. I wanted a machine that didn’t use pods.
Here are my observations based on the one week this machine did work:
Grind is not fine enough for a best outcome, full bodied, rich espresso. My expensive organic Caffe Vita Sumatra beans were totally wasted using this machine. The best milk foam this machine could produce was a bubbly quasi-foam that soon just disappeared despite the setting I had my milk foam set at.
Take my advice and pass on the TK-01 unless you just want form over function!
thats a bummer your experience was so bad I do agree if you look at my comparison with the delonghi that its better in terms of grinder fineness. honestly its one of the best at making it fine enough. the downside with all super automatics Brenda is non of them are making true espresso like I mentioned in the review and my video explaining the difference between pressurized and non pressurized espresso. basically you will never be able to get as full espresso as an espresso machine with a single wall basket which no super auto uses the closest thing would be the breville oracle to a super auto that will get u true cafe quality espresso and espresso based drinks

Yea unfortunately the terra kaffe has not been out very long. The delonghi has been super good to my family though still a work horse after 6 years

Well as I said in the video if we are talking pure espresso I’d go with the delonghi but if you do a lot of milk based drinks I’d go with the terra kaffee

The Terra Kaffe is a triumph of form over function. Messy and dysfunctional. Avoid!
I honestly never had much of a messy experience unless you get a white model then whipping it after every use will be your new hobby lol
