- In new credit card rules, RBI has made it mandatory for the issuer that any request for closure of a credit card should have to be honoured within seven working days.
🔸Failing to do that the issuer will have to pay the penalty of ₹500 per day of delay to the customer till the closure of the account, provided there is no outstanding in the account.

I enjoyed your video on the new RBI guidelines for credit card closure. However, I noticed a possible error in the compensation calculation for delays beyond the 7-day limit. You mentioned that if a credit card company closes a card after 30 days that means on the 31st day, the compensation would be ₹11,500.
According to the RBI guidelines, compensation is ₹500 per day of delay beyond the 7-day limit. If the card is closed on the 31st day, the delay is 24 days (31 - 7 = 24 days). Therefore, the correct compensation should be 24*500 = ₹12,000, not ₹11,500.
