Righteous Brothers formed in 63. Before that they were in a group called the Paramours. They sang together until Bobby died in 02 I believe. They both would branch off and do things individually, but would always get together to tour. They had their differences but always remained friends. One of my favorite duos of the 60's. Slow dancing to their music with my first girlfriend in Jr. High and High School was heaven.
Righteous Brothers broke up in '68. Hatfield teamed up with Jimmy Walker as the RB but it didn't work out so well. Bobby & Bill got back together in '74 and then they were on and off until bobby's death in '03

I believe this performance by Bobby was done on the TV show, Shindig. They were regulars on the show in 1963 & 64. They broke up in 69 but got back together again in 74. That's when they did Rock & Roll Heaven and Dream On and Give it the People. Then in 76 they split up again when Bill's ex wife was murdered and he wanted to raise his 11 year old son. So it was 5 year's when they got back together for good until Bobby passed away in 2003 of a heart attack.

Bill said that Elvis Pressley alternated with him on this show schedule. He also said that Frank Sinatra coached him on how to protect his voice in the dry Vegas climate. Frank Sinatra met with Bill Medley regularly to check on him and his progress with improving and protecting his voice. I think Bill Medley also reached out to Bobby Hatfield to perform with him again, saying that it was hard doing solo performances given the challenges with his voice.

Guess the fact that they knew Nancy Sinatra helped. Sinatra insisted that Bobby and Bill join him, and other guys who were appearing at the Sands, in the steam room everyday. Bill said they smelled like eucalyptus for months afterward. 😂 Edit: In '74 Bill met with Bobby to talk about getting back together because, as you said, it was hard on his voice doing the shows solo. Which they did. By '76 his voice was wrecked. Doctors told him his voice was gone for good. By chance, he met the choir teacher from his high school. That guy worked with him for 2 years to get his voice back...2 lessons a day.

You were asking about ages. They were both born in 1940, Bobby in August, Bill in September. Bobby was 24 here. The guys in the white suits are The Temptations. Yup, The Temptations! They backed Bobby on 2 numbers on this episode of Shindig. Bobby appeared on this episode alone (Feb. 10, 1965). Did one other solo (is that The Coasters in the background?) and the opening mash up. They were the same age. Born in 1940. Bill is 83 & still performing with partner Bucky Herd. You probably know Bobby died in 2003 from a heart attack B4 a performance. They did solos when they were together too. They went their separate ways a couple times and the touring schedules had a lot to do with it but when the time was right they got back together & stayed together until Bobby's death. Bill loves performing but plans to semi retire to be home & with family more instead of on the road touring. I get that being 78 myself & still working but it's become a chore. He began his Thank You Farewell Tour January 19th.

He wrote the song titled" I can't help it but I still in love with you" in a 15 minutes challenge to receive a recording contract. Surrounded by millions, he died of loneliness and a broken heart at 29 years old. Elvis covered it in 1973 and said it was "the saddest song he had ever heard". No. Did not simultaneous carriers. They recorded solo on certain songs. Bobby had a drug and alcohol problem and died tragically and early and Bill Medly continued his recording and live performance career.

Right, the melody is older (the 1920s?), but the English lyrics we know are from 1939. It was recorded by Glenn Miller and the Ink Spots in 1939.

Bill sang Time of My Life, not Bobby,that's why he looks different, it wasn't him. 🤣. They started as a duo, but later had their own projects they wanted to do, but they would get back together for tours where they sang together and did their solo songs as well. The guys in the white suits are The Temptations. Yup, The Temptations! They backed Bobby on 2 numbers on this episode of Shindig. Bobby appeared on this episode alone (Feb. 10, 1965). Did one other solo (is that The Coasters in the background?) and the opening mash up. Bill was taken ill, may have been in the hospital for a short time.

They were the same age. Born in 1940. Bill is 83 & still performing with partner Bucky Herd. You probably know Bobby died in 2003 from a heart attack B4 a performance. They did solos when they were together too. They went their separate ways a couple times and the touring schedules had a lot to do with it but when the time was right they got back together & stayed together until Bobby's death. Bill loves performing but plans to semi retire to be home & with family more instead of on the road touring. I get that being 78 myself & still working but it's become a chore. He began his Thank You Farewell Tour January 19th.
They joined up in 1963 and had their greatest hits in 64 and 65. I had the great pleasure to see them in concert at the Masonic Temple in Detroit at their best in 1967

You should listen to Hank Williams "I'm so lonesome I could cry". He said it was the best song he had ever written in 1949. The top song writer, performing artist, and recording artist of his time. He wrote the song titled" I can't help it but I still in love with you" in a 15 minutes challenge to receive a recording contract. Surrounded by millions, he died of loneliness and a broken heart at 29 years old. Elvis covered it in 1973 and said it was "the saddest song he had ever heard". I thing the best cover was by BJ Thomas. You should google all three and react to the one you like, but Hank William lets you know what loneness feels like. They started in the early 60's as I recall. They broke up and got back together a couple of times. By the 80's they parted but on the best of terms. The Medley song you're referring to is from Dirty Dancing. They're the best male duo of all time IMHO. Great job.

In 1982 they got back together after breaking up in 1976. During the break ups, they had solo careers.They continued to work together until Bobby's death in 2003. However, even when together, there were separate projects.
You checked before videos from years 64, 65. When recorded during tv programs (probably this is 'Shindig') live sound and lights really are bad. Anyway, his voice is still brilliant even with bad quality videos ❤

No. Did not simultaneous carriers. They recorded solo on certain songs. Bobby had a drug and alcohol problem and died tragically and early and Bill Medly continued his recording and live performance career.
